Honestly the only side lacking the most is models and textures and that's really best left to one team or monitored by the same person to maintain.

I'm not certain but an open competition for "Model/concept for next [ITEM_NAME]" would probably be more hard work than to just have the Dev team do it themselves. The best thing the current player-base can do is to promote the game and get people trying it.

This sounds fun. I think I'll come along smile
Everyone else bring detecting modules and come and watch! big_smile

I'd love to see more data sent during combat and less outside of combat. It's annoying to be following someone and they suddenly walk through a wall or a plant instead of going around it. I've run two client on the same screen the the position difference is about 30m's which is a lot when some weapons optimal range are less than 100m.

YES! NEW ISLAND NEEDS THESE!

I've not tested it since I reported it but field containers I think were fixed. I didn't try any others but it's nice to make an uncrackable field container.

Is it fixed now?

it's not guaranteed while ppl can dodge the rockets

You can't dodge a rocket once it's fired. If the rocket was fired with LOS and then they move behind cover the rocket WILL hit them. Also the damage is delayed by what seems to be incorrect when compared with the visual effect. Would be nice is both damage and missile hitting would happen at least in the same second.

If you have shadows turned on you probably won't get above 30 FPS.
I run with high view range, full robot detail and a few other bells and whistles and I'm always seeing my maximum of 60 FPS.

In large fights I do have to turn on low detailed robots but apart from that I have no issues with buildings. Buildings also don't render now until you can see them which is nice. It's either sight or range but either way it's improve on what it used to be. Alpha island is rather bad for graphical lag due to the number of buildings so close together. a LOD on buildings not in view would be nice. So that they are still rendered but the buildings behind your camera are much lower detail and only render to full detail as and when you turn your camera to view them.

Any news on it? Are we all about to get a massive EP injection that none of us knew we were missing? big_smile

When not subbed your EP counts backwards? D: AHH!

If you want constant, meaningless but fun PVP go play Battlestar Galactica Online.

If you want to play game set in a world were anyone can make a difference then play Perpetuum. big_smile

I vote for somewhere I can make a difference, be involved with something and feel accomplished when I get what I aimed to achieve.

Infestation artifact sites are easily solo'ed.
Any spawn on on alpha island is easily solo'ed and some spawns on beta islands can be solo'ed too.

This said I would like to see some solo content that isn't made easier with a blob. I just don't know how to do that in an open world situation unless squads were effected by interference somehow and even that would be easy to get around.

The term anything you can do I can do better really applies to solo and squad players here. Perhaps add more infestation sites that instead of spawning just 2 or 3 NPC's create a temporary spawn for say 30 minutes of their current spawned NPC's.

The less static mobs the better. The more searchable content the better. More roaming NPC's (Weak ones) would be nice too as a counter as well. And roaming NPC's of different factions should fight each other. Not very well but they should at least shoot each other a little.

Bigger ISN'T better.
A mech doesn't mean you're some kinda level 80 and assault are level 40's. It  doesn't work like that here.
It's about armor, DPS and speed. Extensions make very little difference to the outcome of a fight.

Fitting is important. If you fit to be high DPS but slow speeds and the target is faster than you what stops them from kiting you? If you go for speed and range  and get tackled you're in a lot of trouble.

Two assault will kill a mech hands down as long as they're fit to do so. A mech will kill an assault if it's fit to do so. Saying you like a mech to an assault shows you didn't think about your fitting or theirs.

All I smell here is Q.Q

I am very pleased to see everyone else in agreement that there is no much thing as "Way behind" in this game. Only the ability to do more things. A 1 day old character can be in a T4 fit assault and PvP'ing. I should know as I did it with a new account recently. From there I've spent probably another 30k EP and I don't feel like the character has improved at all. The small percent more damage or longer range or even rate of fire isn't noticeable against.

The only extension that is a requirement for most PVP is Nav 10. The 71+ KPH limit you speak of is usually because when roaming the mechs going 80+ will always arrive at the fight, kill and move on before you've even got halfway. For defenses speed doesn't matter but then you've probably never been to a defense or had anything to defend.

If you want to go on "Roams" despite them now being a total no show and Intrusions being the only way to get any form of PvP all be it blob PVP then train for small ewar.

Or better yet, go on holiday for a few days if limit EP is that annoying. Don't train ANYTHING above 5 for the first month unless you know what you're doing or it's Nav 10. You'll be able to get all extensions and more to 5 within the month.

actually the pot was designed that way, but it seems to be broken for some time now.

I thought so too. The idea of giving NIC per SAP winner would mean the defenders would always show up and if no one else did the defender at least gets some money for their time.

Storage officer can only access storage and logs for their current locations. Co-CEO and CEO's can access any log anywhere.

This game doesn't let you choose which graphics card to use and also doesn't support SLI.

It's annoying but I wonder how hard it is to write support into the engine to at least select which card to use.

A corporation notes section in each profile. Would have be able to see it? Who would be able to edit it?

Print one and see if you local comic shop or game store will put it up.

Can we get one for each race? Is there a Nian Industry logo?
Three posters like the seconds one would be perfect.

I like this idea a lot. There isn't really an "Issue" so much but there could be in the future.
With so much uncertainty around whether someone is going to so much as turn up for the event it would be nice if registering for the intrusion was more than just registering for NIC.

Sadly the best method I can think of would be to greatly increase the cost of registering. Then all that NIC gets put into a "Pot". For each SAP you capture you get 1/3 of the Intrusion pot.

Rather than limit the amount NIC can be in an Intrusion pot and only giving a fraction of it to the winner of the outpost it would make much more sense to award NIC per SAP taken/defended.

E.g. Corporation A owns an outpost. Two corporations register for the outpost at 10 million NIC each. The pot stands at 20 million NIC. Corporation B and C take one SAP each and Corporation A fails to capture the last one but luckily the SAP times out. Corporation B and C get to keep the SAP until it is taken during another intrusion and are award 6.66 million NIC each. The remaining 6.66 Million remains in the Intrusion Pot for the next time. Each time the pot can grow the less SAP are taken. If too many people register for one outpost and don't turn up or aren't able to capture it (Meaning there was a 'good' PVP engagement) the corporation could use an alt corporation and release all of the NIC during an easy Intrusion time. (Register with an alt corporation and take all the SAPs back, much like you can now.)

Who wants to throw free NIC at another corporation? It's fun and if you've got enough NIC not to care then so be it but it would improve the current situations. Missing one or two events wouldn't be that expensive but making it a reoccurring theme would be costly.

Of all the strange restriction to add I rather expected the forums to be the first and least strange. You know, above the importance of them buying market items.

Sorry. I should have replied a long time ago but I thought this was just a troll post.
The new weather effect is the visual representation of when plants, not minerals, regrow.

Pretty cool.

A 1 hour patch on a weekend isn't that bad and I'd prefer if they can't get a hot fix ready for Friday that they do it early (EU time) on Saturday. Having to wait the extra few days is more annoying that just a quick patch and restart. If you only get 1 hour a week to play Perpetuum and it falls on a patch day you're not getting anything out of the game. If on the other hand you play the game 10 hours a day everyday then it doesn't matter then they patch.

Sounds like Q.Q over "I want to play..Wahh". If the downtime is expected to be greater than 1 hour I'd say make sure the patch is during the servers quiet times. I can see when those are and they picked a good time to patch.

Micro transactions for account and cosmetic things only would be fine. I'd like to be able to change my characters picture appearance sometime. Not really a required thing and I doubt many people would use a system like that right now.

NPC kernel buy orders should be removed and replaced the NIC source with another system. I am pretty sure the Devs are aware of this and are working on a solution so I won’t post any ideas for what could be done if there is something in the pipeline.

Then couple this with low level NPC's dropping flawed (T0) items instead of standard modules and only high level and beta island NPC's drop standard items. Make the T0 items no more damage than yellow as this will allow them to be used or recycle much cheaper than the current system then when they get a rare standard module from a mob it's not worthless. Standard module drops need to be decreased but “salvagers” should still have a job. Each flawed module that drops should have a 25% chance to be a standard module.

These two changes would stimulate the standard module market and kernel market. Increase the base length of each sell order so that the minimum time is 1 week and the maximum is 2 months. That way people will put things on the market and be able to leave them there as there is demand for items but not many people around to buy them. As demand for item increases, more players join and a new NIC sink is needed the cost of listing items could be increased further for longer durations. For now keep it to a scale where 2 months costs 8 times the price of 1 week.

Now for the fun part that bring the whole economy together. New market tools and abilities. Features like being able to modify sell and buy orders remotely rather than have to cancel and put them up again and more market data! This is probably the most important feature to fix the economy. Add a market tool that unlocks more data by training extensions in marketing. The higher the extension the more they can see from remote locations and the more data they get and the more up-to-date data. Rather than a 24 hour average they can choose a 6 hourly average to see what times modules sell best and where in the game world most modules are being sold and bought and where the highest demand and highest supply of modules are.

Characters names can be changed by a Dev. Email support.

For now email support. They may change it while there is no automatic way to do it and the community is small so it's not a hard task to do. smile
