But as you mentioned we already have universal tile scanner charges.
You only need to scan once every few hundred meters for a field.

Possible solution of these 2 points would be the tournament being held over the course of 2 weekends.. even possibly saturdays only.

Thats monday 11:15 if I'm not mistaken, but by no means tuesday.

2. This tournament is one of the furthest things from favouring old/rich corps, in that they can't bring more people, or bigger bots with the same number of people then you can. They might be able to afford T4proto gear, but if you've farmed for a few days you should be able to as well just for once.
The one step further they could go is giving everyone prefit bots or limiting to T1(and then it still gives those with more EP an advantage), but I think this way is more fun.

There are plenty of enemies for people to fight, mainly being other people.
If they were NPC's they would still perform the same function, and now we still have the hostility.

I havn't seen this in a long time.

Even at a cost, I would still say no.

They considered giving the Gropho an AP recharge bonus, then they didn't go with that because it would make it hella overpowered and they'd have to nerf its natural recharge rate quite a bit.
Although I much prefer the shield absorb bonus they gave it.
Your problem is just that you can't use shields in pve, I agree, if I go out farming in a gropho I get RR and a armour tank. It still works for me just fine but in return you get possibly the best heavy mech for large fights.

You mean their location?

I would recommend any of WAR, 62nd, ATG or M2S.
They're all good corps for pvp, but you'll probably have to be atleast listening on voice coms when on roams.

It should be draining 2 ap every second I believe.

Every race has its pros and cons.
Blue are fast with their mechs and heavie, but other groups can keep up with them in ewars and assaults, and they're not going to use most of that speed when in a group with mechs of the other types.
I see no overall best for pvp or for the subsections of roaming or standoffs.
Every race has its swings and roundabouts and you just have to see which one you like.
Yellow has passive tank/long range, blue has active armour tank/short range/high dps and green has shield tank/long range/low dps.
Of course that's only generally and you can configure your bots to do many set ups and then there's the ewar.

The thing is that in by far most cases of the fits you'll see people fitting they won't put anything in that missile slot.
It would just slow you down further and it takes a lot of EP to train that 1 gun that could be spent making the other ones better.
It also certainly isn't 33% of your damage because if you do use say lasers on that artemis they get a 20-50% bonus to damage(dependent on extensions), making your main guns provide 4*1.4= 5.6 turrets of damage at equal gun extensions for a total of 6.6 guns while the tyrannos would have 7.6 if you would fit all and not use any weapon tunings(modules that will increase your damage for a specific gun type) making 14% more DPS.
Added to this is the trouble that you'll have to get the fitting skills to also fit those last 2 slots, and stay in a completely different range just to fire that last 1/2 guns.
For some purposes like farming NPC's those slots can come in useful, but not in most kinds of PVP.
