How many accounts actually have negative EP?
And how many trials quickly canceled their subs because you punished them for your errors.
Steam is giving you a pair of champion horses fit for breeding and instead you're turning them into glue.

Back in the day before the runts of the litter decided they're PVP gods of the empty room, we used to walk everywhere.
Can confirm. Syndic made us walk unframed, double plated heavies across Norhoop so so many times because he was too cheap to buy the 1.5M teleporters.
I DO like the idea of removing the EP part of the existing skill and making it baseline. The arguments for it mirror those for Navigation so it should be treated the same.

LOL ... so you guys are going to fix this or do we have to put up with snining our cameras around all the time ?
I mean their other suggestion for adding content to the game was for us to spin our bots so.....

I just don't see the need for this and asking trial players to recreate their characters, also making Devs waste time on mundane things.
I feel we're better served coming up with suggestions that the community wants, and showing how it works in other games, and then letting the Dev team decide where it falls on there priority list.
League of Legends does something similar where after X amount of months of inactivity a name becomes available for claiming. 18-24 months of inactivity as a trial should be plenty of time to determine a player isnt coming back and to free up that name for a paying player. (Only allow full accounts to claim a previously claimed, and expired trial name).
In addition to this, you also lose the 'New Posts' function on the forums when your sub lapsed. Truly a terrifying thought.
I'm just curious, do you guys have a graphic designer or artist even on staff? I know you have coders, but that's only half of the equation when it comes to new items and bots. And this is by no means me criticizing, I know you are a small (and very busy) indie team, I was just genuinely curious? or do you contract out for graphics/artistry work?
If so, they need to get a refund for the Doom 1 water.
Certainly any kind of bounty program would never work. We should nEVEr consider them in ONLINE games.
Try adjusting your gamma

... and "a lot of server-side optimisations". Though not very sexy or headline grabbing they should not be overlooked. Can often have a major impact and can require much work even though in the end they require changing just a couple of lines.
If only we had more details on what exactly this "lot of server-side optimizations" are. I trust the patch notes will be extensive.
Yea, kind of how I used to be able to run 6 clients, and now I cna only run 3 and the water looks like Doom 1 ***.
*edit: That's still spamming, even if you post it in open discussion. - DEV Zoom
I agree with Tux, something like this is needed in the game. I say we take it a step further; be able to wardec individual players. Otherwise the care bears will just take a 7 day vacation to the noob corp like they do in eve.
Ok. Thanks Zoom for the response. Essentially within 2 months most if not all of your research can be at the point where it was before this patch goes live. And since I would bet we wont see it for a few months anyways ... Those that care can prepare.
Works for me.
But June is only one month away?
Lots of useful feedback, thanks for that. We still think a x10 corp multiplier is a good compromise.
About the EP cost: as said the new extensions would have an "enabler" role, so I'm torn between complexity 1 and 2, but more leaning towards 1. What you all forget with your calculations is that we have only a few column 10 items, and the 10th level of an extension costs nearly as much EP as all the other levels combined. So whatever you calculate, you can reach column 9 with half of that.
So, how many total EP will it be to be able to produce everything? And for those of us bad at math, how many months to accumulate that EP?
Tund Bungler wrote:Realtalk: if I start saving EP today, how many tech trees can I finish before june?
most likely 0 if the enabler extensions complexity is more than 2
Damn....how am I supposed to get gobs of T4 then? Does rawr need anymore *** hauled to goonspace?
Realtalk: if I start saving EP today, how many tech trees can I finish before june?
Tux you should know by now that only M2S or Hungryans like Tamas get their EP reset.
The sad reality is that most corporations have "+10 people" simply because 3 people have 3-4 accounts each.
Here is a list of all the corps with 10 human beings active in them:
I think I have hinted this already but then I'd like to make clear that we'll have a new corporation role, the research officer/manager. Players with this role will be able to spend corporation RP and research the corp knowledgebase, limited by their own extensions. So it won't be up to just the CEO.
Also just to repeat from an earlier blog, RP amounts in the corp knowledgebase will have a multiplier compared to the amounts in personal knowledgebases, they will be likely 10 times as much. Which means that researching the corporation knowledgebase will only start to have an advantage if you have more than 10 members who depend on the knowledgebase (prototypers/producers). (Not counting the lesser losses when research people leave the corporation of course.)
So basically you are still designing the game for the population you dream of, not the population you have.

The scanning part isn't quite up to date, so I'm a bit hesitant.
Because scanning in the game isn't up to date. Get rid of area charges already.
The only time I've been in STC and felt like I've shot (or STC has) someone we shouldn't have was when we shot AIC when they were neutral. We ended up pushing them to your side, and they did and do pretty good at PVP now.
My sides, how they ache.
Play good games.
with current terraforming people will eventually leave perp... like me
Look at the bright side, whats the most subs they could lose? Like 2-3 dozen?
Syndic wrote:Sure you need a reason. You need a reason for the loser to keep trying, otherwise the same thing happens like with you, they go play world of tanks for a few months.
Not sure if its because you don't play or are oblivious to current game events but our activity has stayed steady ... or are you referring to a single person?
we are out and about daily roaming and knocking on doors ... we cant help it if no one is home . . . the last time i saw anyone from CIR on the field was quite some time ago ...
keep your eyes open and you'll see us
You bought a good game? (Darkfall)
It's irrelevant if it is or isn't a lost cause, they would only have to sue them until AC runs out of money.
Or they could just wait until June.
