14 Corporations in the server alliance against M2S then.

Thanks for your reply,

How is the situation in regards to bots and territory? how big are the factions in terms of players and how much territory do each of the factions hold?

M2S = 13/15 Outposts.
Server Alliance;

ADLN
ALF
Blood
CIR
ToG
ROME
DEAPR
Axe
CHAOS
F-Navy
SK
IBS
RING
NUTY
TRIBE
AFF
XXSIXX
RG

=2 Outposts

The majority of the server since release has had a strong disinclination to PvP. As a result M2S are doing everything they can do force people to PvP who live on Beta, if they don't then we'll take all of their capturable assets and deny them their desires as much as possible.

Novastrov/Domhalan/Norhoop don't like this so they've banded together in a server-wide coalition to try and stop us.

Corporations such as 62nd aren't part of this coalition and are roaming beta islands as an independent force quite frequently.

The political alignment of new corporations such as nWar, AET and FOOm is yet to be seen.

That's it in a nutshell.

However, FOOM is very concerned about the game being heavily biased.

Against who and in what way?

I like the idea of more end game NIC sinks however first you have to make outposts worth owning for more than just E-Peen in order to justify the sink. Right now outposts are nigh useless as an owner in comparison to not owning them.

They still need to be faster than Mechs without nerfing Mechs.

A discussion on game balance may be a good topic for a normal podcast however not for ITP #7. You'll have the opportunity to speak to a number of people live and should exploit this fact. What I'd like to see are some real pressing questions posed that get the recipients hot under the collar. I don't want to know what people on the podcast think of game balance, that gets discussed daily and is nothing new. I want to know something I didn't already and hear some controversial or dramatic opinions, discussions or arguments.

That's IMO anyway.

Oh, and if you'd like me on again drop me a line.

M2S now owns 80% of the outposts in game, 12/15. We had a great fight over Brightstone and despite not capturing it we killed well in excess of 50 hostile mechs, a few dozen light ewar and a couple of industrial heavies RR'ing whilst only losing 3 people ourselves, 2 of which crashed.

There's no way for AC to control account owernership short of requiring somesort of personally identifiable registration, which is certainly going to raise the barrier to entry in the game.

Shouldn't AC have information as to who payed for a certain account?
Since that sort of thing can't be done anonymously they would be able to spot changes there. If the regitered owner doesn't match up with the person paying for it, wouldn't that create problems in and out of itself?

Pay with time codes from places like Shattered Crystal.

3. Observe that M2S is one of the least populated corp, usually fighting while being severly outnumbered at some times. (We aren't allied with anyone.)

Well we're not low populated, it's just we're a single corporation fighting against entire alliances. Said alliances of multiple corporations can field more than we can most times although we do bring quite reasonable numbers ourselves.

Is this an opportunity to upload your own corporation logo or additional symbols that will be added to the selection that everyone can use?

I'm pretty sure it's the latter however the OP could also be interpreted as to the former.

However, a big hard reset of everything is just wrong in my eyes. People can exploit this to first, level everything related to light bots.... then once they have enough total EP, they can simply reset everything, and jump into a fully optimised Mech.
This is way too convenient.

The problem isn't that people can do this, the problem is that light bots are nigh useless the vast majority of the time. It's a balancing issue, not a valid argument against a feature attempting to increase the dynamic of the game.

briochit, noralgis and epriton drops are also nice things

That stuff drops from Alpha sites?

Thanks Gremrod & Kalsius for the opportunity.

The next time you want to do a panel of the Perpetuum community I hope we have a better turnout than tonight. All politics and what not aside we're mature individuals trying to further the podcast and the game itself so don't be shy and get onto Skype.

Regardless of this it was a great podcast and I hope people enjoyed listening.

We now own over half the capturable outposts in-game. Acquiring the rest is only a matter of time. The owners protection tokens will soon be gone, M2S won't be.

Updated the opening post. Only took me about 8 months.

Styx. I personally think that the issue with assaults is that pilots skip to mechs. functionally this means that pilots choose to spend the min. EP into small weapons and light bots, so they have more for advanced extensions; making the assualts ineffective.

So, no.. the assault love isn't going to make players use them, but there was still some love.

The problem with assaults is that they're slow as hell and do nothing better than a Mech. If they were 5-10KPH faster when fitted whilst not nerfing the mech speeds they'd be used all the time in roaming. This is coming from someone who frequently leads large roaming squads.

Arga wrote:

Also note all the assualt bot love.

All the reasons assault bots aren't used in PvP apart from it being the only thing you can pilot weren't addressed however. What was changed had no impact in its practical application in PvP.

The ones with 2 outposts are Beta, so yeah...

Being a dedicated miner, I hope they have a fuel need like in Eve.  I always liked being able to fall back on ice mining if I wasn't feelin asteroids that day.  Constant, and consistent demand, is nice.  Prices did very little up and down, was just guaranteed income.

I'd support the fuel being a new type of material as well, that isn't used in production.  But it will probably just be HDT.

Only if I can fuel it for the next IRL 10 years.

As an update to this I'd prefer it if the kernel drop rate was put back to 100% however the kernel research values decreased accordingly. The overall effect would be the same however it wouldn't be a dice roll as to whether you got a kernel or not.

Annihilator wrote:

please increase the radar signature of every lwf user by 50%, it cant be that they can sneak up to my mining bot unseen before my safe-logout timer is down to zero

It doesn't need to be. You can mine 90% of all the minerals you need within 1K of an outpost.

I still dont think a yearly reset is good for the game.

Why not? You stated an alternative system but haven't explained why the one I proposed in the first place wasn't sufficient.

Kalsius Dakalsai wrote:

If you fubar a skill line, fine lets have some way to claw back 90-95% of the EP invested in a skill to spend elsewhere, make it time limited (i.e. 1 per month, just to stir the pot), moderately in game expensive or require a line of missions to be completed which required say 2-3 hours to complete.

Whilst I don't like the idea of running missions, sure you can make it expensive. As for the EP reclamation it's essentially the same as what I proposed just not to the same degree. I say why not go all the way and enhance Perpetuum's dynamicness with what I proposed. The game will change, people will change, this could be a large selling point for Perpetuum in a competitive MMO marketplace. Invest in your character (12months sub) and you'll be rewarded.

If EP resets are truely about clearing up extension mistakes, then the reset should be about removing applied EP, not about resetting an account.

The way you "Reset" EP at the moment is very asinine and far from perfect. A system where you could reset EP without having to reset your characters would be excellent.
