Thank you everyone for participating. The server peaked at 842 users last night, which I think Douglas Adams would be perfectly satisfied with, may he rest in peace!

And our official winner is: Shadow Kruzhor

Congratulations! Please contact one of our staff when online to claim your price.

Sorry, due to an oversight on our behalf, a new winner will be announced momentarily. We missed that the announced winner already had a post in the thread.

We are performing a hardware upgrade on the servers, they should be up soon.

There is a web of anti-plant layers covering the islands, so a good waypoint structure should secure clear passage.

We are also thinking about introducing a taxi robot that would spawn at regular intervals at a location and drive to another and then despawn. You could set approach to it and browse killboards or mining charts while it travels. This is only a concept as of yet thoguh.

Edit 2: looks like I disqualified myself by editing my post, What are you meant to do if you guess a number that has already been guessed? Post a second message without editing your first post saying that you guessed someone else's number?

All I can say is, this game is much harder than it seems at first glance. Your character is of course disqualified.

(Operating word: character)

Let's make it a bit more interesting!

http://forums.perpetuum-online.com/topi … ur-choice/

To celebrate the revival of our army of hamsters we are running a little game. Whoever gets the closest guess on tonight's peak user count will receive a Mk2 heavy mech of their choice.

The rules:

  • The guesses must be posted in this thread.

  • Whoever posts a number first, owns that number exclusively.

  • The time frame of the competition is from this moment until tomorrow 12:00 server time.

  • In case of a tie, there will be two winners.

  • Edited posts automatically disqualify the character.

  • One character may only post one number and only the first post counts.

Trial agents in doubt, this may be the chance to secure yourself an easy carreer start in Perpetuum! All you need to do is subscribe and post your guess to take part.

Best of luck to all!

*note: The general chat is NOT the peak user number, as presence there is optional.

As you all probably heard by now, we successfully tackled the server chat lag issues that made the game and general service experience somewhat painful - to put it mildly - in the past days.

For this we have administered 4 days of game time extension to all subscribed and trial accounts alike. This is fully automatic, you do not have to do anything to claim it, your subscriptions have already been extended.

Thank you for your patience with us and have fun out there!

Clarified the issue in this post, please take heed:

I would like to clarify the matter, my previous post may have been misleading. We do not have an official trading platform for game codes as of yet, nor do we have ingame game time items that you can trade in a station safely for NIC. Hence, all of these transactions are currently unsafe and based on MMOG experience will turn out to be scams most of the time.

What I meant by my previous post is that we are not actively tracking that the codes we sell get used by the account we sell them to, so if your RL best friend or your family or guardian buys you a code and you use it, you are welcome to do so.

However, since this is a trust based and unsafe transaction we do not support it and will not allow it to be promoted on our forums. Also, no support, refund or investigation will be provided by us in scams arising from these transactions. Any accounts found in relation to such frauds are committing an EULA breach and may be banned.

If you need further information or clarification on this issue, please write us at support@perpetuum-online.com.

Lemon: Please post this in the bug section and word it properly. Let's see if it persists and others have the same issue.

Closing this.

We called it a day in the morning after fixing the server. Didn't want to tinker with the database tired. We will add the time in a few hours.

The issue seems to be resolved, the relay server went from 100% load to around 5%.

We are administering 4 days of free game time to all subscribed and trial accounts.

Thank you all for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience!

Well, this wasn't the day we fixed the server. We are going to get some rest and carry on tomorrow. We have isolated where the problem is, so we did make progress today.

Until then a 350 player cap is in effect. At the moment we do not have the tools to make distinction between paying and trial players. All this time we spend chasing this issue will be free of charge to all of you.

We are very sorry about the inconvenience, we will do our best to get this out of the way!

Unfortunately there is no queue system implemented as of yet. Learning from the current situation it just made it to the top of our priority list though.

This is in relation with the current server issues. We're working on it.

I'm not quite sure if this whole lag thing is is all software related.

They might just need to upgrade their hardware or put more in.  CCP had to do the same when they had influxes of people.   A single world is a hardware hog.

Unfortunately, no. We have serviced over 900 players with inferior hardware.

Before we went to bed last night, we started recording what the servers was doing. Today we played it back, analyzed the data and got to the point where we can reproduce the issue. A simple minor task suddenly starts taking magnitudes longer and things can go to hell from there if we do not cap the load on it.

So the issue is isolated, 'all' we have to do is find out what causes it. Thank you for your support and your patience with us, we really appreciate it.

I'm used to this since I lived through the 900+ exception error windows that would tile across my screen in Eve or the eternal black screens of death upon session change...for months on end. Not really concerned about getting comp'd on time because of servers having issues.

A big lag spike about two hours ago cost me a Yagel + fittings (all T1 stuff) and it kind of hurt the wallet a bit being a new player and all, but really it is just par for the course. Already made enough NIC to be able to buy one on the market and just keep going.

Glad to see devs trying to get it situated

You may petition that loss and it will be reimbursed. Please write a mail to support@perpetuum-online.com.

I believe it adds onto the 15 days.   So, really, the faster you sub, the more full-access time you get!

Confirmed.

You can't even execute a login trap with ingame voice comms, let alone cuss at us at downtimes.

Don't mean to be a nitpick, but the name of the game is Perpetuum, not Perpetuum Online.
