It was already mentioned before a lot, so I'd like to ask again, whether gamma interested persons will be able to listen in somehow (for example with speaking rights only given to representatives) or would the server be overloaded?
If serverload would be too great, is there a possibility to record the discussion and put it online (download or whatever) together with the summary?

We will record the discussion and make it public later.

This certainly isn't the way the power blocks in the game appear from where I play ... and where did you get those names from? I really think you should be using more neutral names rather than ones invented by CIR in their Soviet Union role play.

FYI Alsbale alliance and Hokk alliance are completely seperate power blocs who very recently set each other blue for some operations. In fact, some members of the Alsbale alliance are red/yellow to Hokk. We have completely seperate plans for Gamma and have invested time/NIC in Gamma completely seperately also.

AIG? A neutral alliance formed mere weeks ago, are they supposed to represent, the "rest of the server"? Where do STC fit, a major player with Gamma interests but not really part of any of these alliances despite occasional joint operations.

Involved parties needs a rethink otherwise a lot of people will feel unrepresented.

Sorry, we may have been a bit too informal with the names, I agree. If there is a party that is not represented by these power blocks, please nominate a representative.

Are you thinking about this as a Town Meeting type of format, where players get a 5 min speech, or an actual discussion?

While its nice to see people volunteering, and wanting to be active, if this is meant to be productive it has to be kept small.

If its a town meeting, then it should be open to anyone that wants to have a voice.

Edit: Also, as to the timing of the meeting. Postponing any changes means that corporations actively on gamma, or looking to build on gamma, have their game put on hold until some decision is made. No one likes to wait, and its even worse when you can't act at all, because the outcome is undecided.

This will be a strictly moderated discussion, a Town Meeting if you like. Ideally we would like 6 people to be present, but we'll make reasonable exceptions. Please try to pass up ideas through your hierarchies instead of promoting more people to attend, as it will just lower the productivity of the meet.

We think 48 hours is a reasonable time frame to gather ideas and thoughts. While your argument is valid about the timing, doing the proper changes in one go instead of semi-successful iterations will most likely pay off.

As addressed in the recent DEV blog, we are planning on holding a discussion with representatives from the major power blocks in game. The goal of this meeting is to gather information that helps us with the further necessary balancing of the MPC system.

Issues to be discussed:

- MPC risk/reward
- MPC offense/defense mechanism (this includes the current teleport range issue)

The meeting will be moderated. Every representative will have 5 minutes to express his view on the predefined minutes. There will be a second 5 minute chance to reflect on the ideas raised in the first round. At the end we may have a little free-for-all as well.

We would like to ask every representative to collect their thoughts and ideas and organise them to fit within the time restrictions of the meet.

Invited parties:

- NATO Coalition / Hokk alliance
- The Soviet Union
- AIG

We would like to invite two (maximum three if there is no way two can cover it) from each of these factions. The time of the discussion will be in no less than 48 hours. We would like to kindly ask the representatives to post in this thread so we can arrange a meeting sometime around Thursday night CEST.

Attending:

Azyre (AIC)
Zortarg Calltar (REMEDY)
Line (DoY)
Alexadar (CHAOS)
Qwertyboom (B.O.S)
Kaldenines (M2S)
Dazamin (NeX)
Tamas Vitez (CIR)
Lemon (CIR)
Cassius (STC)

Time: Thursday, July 5, 2012, 20:00 CEST

This post will continually be updated with the exact time, location and protocol of the discussion, as soon as we have come to a consensus with the involved parties.

Just to be clear, buying items from NPC market orders with the intent or recycling instead of intended use is considered an exploit. We are monitoring this and will take action against offenders.

We are also fixing the issue as we speak.

Thank you for the useful comments and insights!

At the moment this is not supported in Perpetuum. The main reasons being there is no safe platform for trading, and we have not studied the impact it would have on the economy.

We will revisit this issue in the future, for now, while we don't actively track where game codes are going, we will not assist in any scam related losses either. Advertisement of such services on in game and on our boards is also not allowed.

These are not concerns of the player base.  The majority  of the player base does not care about account sharing.  Only 5 to 10 forum posters who don't care how big of a fool they make of  themselves.

Seriously? Here's something to think about.

Let's say some corp decides to have 20 accounts they share among 50 or 60 players. Every time one of those players want to miine the grab the Riv Mk2 max skilled miner character and mine away for maximum return. Or whenever there is Pvp they grab the max skilled Ictus, Gropho or whatever. And these accounts are used by 3 or 4 people thruout each day. This corp would gain a clear advantage over others not account sharing and would quickly be able to build a stockpile of over 9000 fully T4 fitted mechs, along with unreasonalbe amounts of mineral reserves. The could in theory dominate entire areas of Beta while the single account player corps would have no chance to match. A clear and deliberate exploitation. Even this account sharing ALLIES would benefit form having such a strong friend to assist them. All unfairly. If they didn't share accounts, and were attacked by a small group of pirates and the Ictus pilot wasn't available, the battle may turn out differently.
Understand this?

Also if 60 people share 20 accounts that's 40 unpaid montly subscriptions to AC. That's a lot of lost revenue. Think about it. Finally, its simply a violation of the rules of the game.

Its not a small thing.

What you describe is not realistic. Some player would just decide to change the passwords on all accounts and sail off into the sunset. Account sharing is nowhere near this rampant. Accounts constitute a significant value and players are very protective of them.

The truth is, the small player population greatly increases the importance of single large entities in the game. This gives the indication that these corporations have a huge leverage on us, and can force us into making certain decisions. Our stance is very clear on this, we do not bend, not matter how hard the wind blows. Our job is to turn this around, get a healthy population and we are working hard at it, to the best of our knowledge.

Also you need to consider that keeping our players privacy is paramount, so we do not have the option of countering the attacks on our integrity publicly, even if it means that we look like *** at the end of the day. Rest assured, your judgement is mostly a result of a lack of information.

Our policy on discussing moderation is quite clear. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but discussing it openly on our forums is a different matter. We have to protect every players privacy equally, hence we have no room for maneuvering in this regard. Hence, we can not share any relevant information publicly. You might recall when we learned this lesson the hard way.

Also, trust me the we get equal heat from both sides, both claiming we are biased the other way. I guess we just have to live with that.

The EULA itself is the simple and direct outline. Punishments may vary on the severity and quality of the offense.

This means we should reach a certain point with mobile teleport in 3 minutes?
Or dev will put a mobile teleport near our squad, and we will just push a button?

We will go to your gathering area and deploy a mobile teleport for you.

The opposite of a lightweight frame is an armor plate. We can't do items that modify cargo space because every time it comes up, DEV Crm throws a hissy fit. We'll introduce a freighter bot in the next patch (most probably).
