odd i run w7u-64 and dont have this issue, what anti-virus are you running?

This is very true economies of scale will come into effect the longer things are available if resources permit. Also a T4 anything in general is worth more then a whole standard fit light bot lol.  Alex get me some kernels, ct's and commodities for me while i finish up my work  and then can get back in game in a few more days[hopefully end of the week] kthxbai

I can't see them used on ewar as if you ever used that many slots you would need brutal skills and be slow as hell. Nobody uses assaults in pvp. For mechs they could be useful only if they remove the two amp cap and made it diminishing returns as mechs routinely fire out to max double amp and nexus range even with modest skills and equipment. The 8% / 8% bonus a tuning would give you is not worth the loss of speed nor extra cost. Heavies won't be used as the extra skill needed is brutal and until peeps get a lot more skills that ep is much better spent in other areas.

My recommendations would be to remove the two amp cap and replace with diminishing returns.

Secondly make it +1 skill level rather than two.

Thirdly change the bonus reflective of the bot class:
Ewar should be speed
Assaults should be surface hit size
Mechs should be locking range
Ewar mechs should be their ewar range
Heavies should be damage

Assaults should be dmg or surface to reflect the advance tech otherwise i agree.... but also once i get in game again [if this damn work will stop getting in the way], i guess im going to have to work on buying some birochit to build some mk2 and whatnot for the lols mostlikely a bunch of lights and assaults. Definately want a waspish just because im like that... and i have the extensions to use it already so why not make the most of what i have i guess. See what other fit types i can get out of it that are useful for different roles maybe.... and maybe finally join a corp [though im not sure on that]

its completely missing heavy weaponary/equipment extensions that will have a very high complexity and that are probably worth another year of EP.

True Expert Robotics, Expert Weapon racials, Aoe/Artillery Extensions, Structure/Corp Owned stuff extensions. Plus any other advances in weapons/manufacturing at very high end complexity and low end if new featured stuff is added there too. lots to do and learn in many areas, should be great.

yea there is something like 4 years + worth of skills right now, but thats only if i remember it right it is probably alot more.

booo and im still having to work and wait for my tests to finish so i can use my system again no fair

i have personal stayed away from these, as the only time i have done any assignments has been to gain rep and gain it fast... therefore i have done scans as they are great rep builders but terrible money earners. But this is true i feel if people want any sort of real income they have to turn hauler as kernels and commidities arent worth selling.

We are getting ready to introduce a 15 day free trial. We can not hand out 5-600k NIC in the tutorial mission because everyone would be farming them. There was also a huge gap in progression if you lost your light bot you received when completing the tutorial mission.

The start was however not easy, as if lost your light bot, you were left with a very hard task to complete with an Arkhe. The new missions we have introduced are designed to get from an Arkhe into a light bot.

This is totally right. But the issue is the free trial in the first place. This attracts f2p people that just want a time filler between CBT/OBT phases in there other games, and maybe... gets about 15% retension.

The issue problem is more to do with easing that begining progression which has been hurt from the drop in kernel npc orders and therefore the knock-on of player orders for them. Because of this along with the kernel system change from OBT it means that there is almost no market for the kernels that someone just starting can farm...

Just for a quick example when i started i was able to sell 200-1000 t1 kernels a day to other players and corps to get my starting funding going. Now this is imposible tod o because after a few hundred T1's no researcher has a use for them anymore, therefore its only npc'able which is terrible NIC in comparison..

But they will never change the kernel system back to how it was, or increase the prices so, this situation won't change anytime soon

NPC bounties would help with this feeling of treading water...

True but then you will need to make kernels a % drop which will hurt freelancers and small corps again. With as hard as it is already. personally im still in t2-3 research.

in the end this issue here is, NIC. If people generated more NIC they would more willing to pay 'resonable' prices. But since the kernel prices [main source of raw NIC] is terribble now, and people there for don't want to pay the relative prices when they see buy orders for generally 90% less, people feel end up feeling " why should i bother, i will just go get the items myself instead".  This then lead to the ease with which some were able to exploit the insurance system on such a mass scale.

So in the end the only way around alot of the issues is to join a corp, and it has to be a corp that has players that are able to support each other fully or someone in the corp is going to need an alt or 2. This is the main difference between the way the CBT and live has gone.

The NIC generating capcity of a single char regardless of build has been cut right back. Combats' get less for kernels, can only sell a few things [incomparison] to npc [for lower prices] and get less from recycled items for commidities to sell. Indy's get less because its more expensive to research on the whole due to the kernel search tier change requiring all levels of kernels instead of masses of T1's [which provided a mass market of sale for newbs on t1-3 kernels] from intra-player trade, higher relation % is needed to equate to the similar recycle output along with additional extensions for top tier commidities.

Perfect example i guess is how i would get materials in CBT and how i do it now or more clearly the amount i get now. Without going into specific numbers to much because im to lazy to dig them up fully:

[intensive farming sessions] similar extension points farming T2-5 mobs, selling to a combination of npc, players and Corps to order, with manufacturing on left overs to sell on market

CBT: July-Sept 1 day farming kernel + modules = 20M-70M [depending on sale/recycle]
Live: Feb 1 day farming kernels [depending] 1-3M,
All modules are recycled or kept for manufacturing process, because prices suck and arent worth selling, commidities are all kept because again prices suck. All commodities are then used to manufacture anything i see a need for on the market that will make minimal profit that large corps arent mass [50x] producing.

Now personally I pretty much refuse to buy anything off the market because its NIC i could use making more things to make more NIC. Because the cost of the items to the cost and time to produce the items means its stupid to buy anything.  The main issue small corps, freelance agents have and therefore then need alts is that all these NIC reducing changes along with the immense kernel research change [meaning that the balance is firmly in any corps hands that can have as many people kernel farming for research as posible and not bother trading kernels] mean that people feel the only way to get ahead/level is to have more then one char so they can supply themselves/reduce paying the NIC for another persons EP in a different area.

I would of never had 2 accounts come LIVE if i didnt feel how bad the kernel change was during the OBT as i would of just stuck with combat and bought in items i needed, instead of now trying to manufacture them.

i see so the mk2's are for fighting are basically [maxed out] 10%+ 1 Tuner increase in dmg, and then 1 slot increase for tank/ect.. from the legs

yea its something that we had been calling the items t# and pt# for ages from the cbt as a way to refer to the modules and there standing in the production system, now that they are 'stamped' newer players can catch on more readily about the system, and a modules standing [general fitting/effciency] quickly

Whats the waspish mk2 bonus then and ext.. i cant get in game for like another 2-10 days due to work gaming system refit. you know you want to tell me siddy because im going to have to buy one from you in the end... and a bunch of t/pt4 fittings, because im crazy like that.

I got this impression when reading your notes on the new system, good too know Zoom. Still I will have to wait till next week to get in game to try this out.

The thing is when you look at the game and how it plays, there arent really any activitys like that they will require presses like that other then maybe lock-on>primary. That is the same for miners as well, because they still need to click the locations to lock/targets[if the macro reads the info fromt he screen then its an illegal prog as covered before]

so the ex. above is basically RF, thats an instant press unless you have issues pressing buttons, macroin that to a single button has no benefit. but individual button presses cut down to a single press again has little benefit but i can understand people not liking the precieved disadvantage, because timelimits/input constraints ect.. all apply in the same way so it still takes the same time to do the actions in the end.

But at the end of the as long a botters[lol] are kept out of the game im happy, as its when they run riot that game loses its intigrity and appeal.

also you then have the issue of ep stacking, from multiple chars into one account. Which is whyt this has been ruled out

tbh this should only be used for people with really old drives that are naturally slow and coming to the end of their life, and people with 5400rpm drives that are in some sort of fragmentation hell lol. otherwise its down the who system enviroment as to the load times.

lol XyberViri your right, it isnt something you would need to think about with those specs

true it can be hard to tell when these sorts of things are being used. But when the macro is just doing things that player needs to oversee there is no difference it just saves button pushes, its when the macro's automate a process to the point that the player is absent that the problems arise as this was brought us before in the beta forums and during the cbt.

If i could find the post i think it was zoom or crm that said as long as full automation and player interaction is completly removed from the activity thats when they have an issue with people macro'in

Edit: those keyboards still require the user to be active in pressing buttons and what not, they are automated software for id of things on the screen and clicking around the user environment [thats the issue i was trying to clarify above]

well im loving what the patch has in it just sucks im not able to get into the game till next week... atleast not able to leave the terminal till then and i get off this pos system and back to my normal one. should be intersting i hope

havent tried running more then 4 but its all smooth maxed out at 1680*1050.

Otherwise i would normally stick to 1-2 running Maxed on my main screen then i have all soundsdown aside from system sounds [like target lock-on] on the secondary so i know with paying much attention if something is going on their. But i use vsync so i get a solid fixed frame rate which stops any jerky motion from jumps or drops that could occur from running many monitors with games/active windows on them.

sucks im missing the first few days of the new patch, i can only stay in the terminal on this lowend test system, and my other high end systems are for secure work only >_< so i cant use general net on them booo

Though observers kernels are worth alot, the kernel info is a t5+ meaning that it gives you info on modules upto Tier 4 with a bigger bonus then the standard T5[5 star, supreme, overlord] kernels give.

Just alittle more info on the worth of the observers i thought would be nice... also i managed to blow up some ssd's iun my main machine last friday and im waiting for the RMA on the cables and ssd's to get back to me lol
