They are hoping that the promise of having a little place on the map that you don't see anyone else for days on end will give people the feeling that they have some place to call home... and then more people will come to the game to get their own little piece of home.

Missed this before but i think this is perfect idea. because people like to 'own' or feel like they have a home [look at stEVE for ex. not that i like to mention that, but low/nullsec and wormhole space, all places even solo players have tried to 'call home'] and if this gives players that sense of belonging in Nia i think tis a good thing, as people fight to keep what they 'own' or at least try to keep it.

There is always something that you can get on with. Sure maybe because im freelance i have more to do, but you could be collecting Materials:
Modules and general loot for upgrades, breakdown into commidties for yourself/corp, kernels to help lesser researched indy mates/selling kernels for cash for youself/corp.

Doing any type of assignment to build relation/for discounts on facility usage etc...

As you have only been going for 14 days, all of these are things that are potentially very viable as you will have areas for improvement in them. Even Pure combat chars running assignments is viable because it reduces costs to repairs or other things that you might potentially want to use for moving things about or being useful.

This is the major point in the end, its what your shooting at and what ammo you are using, so there isnt an overal WIN. its down to what you are going to do and where/how you are going to do it.   Good that way, there is no specific I WIN BOT/weapon

its been like this since a change during the obt maybe late cbt just before the obt. where the %'s of success kinda felt like that got swapped from a 905 success of research to a 90% fail. but so few peopl have bothered voicing anythin bout it its just been left... and when people do question it the response from everyone is " as intended" so i dont see anything being done about it at this point.

Edit : also this is why buying kernels isnt worth it anymore. even if the T5's are ment to give us pt4 research +bonus%, do those numbers look like a bonus %... regardless of diminishing returns you have to lern the damn research and this is only way to do it, and hunting down more then 10k krenels to do it for 1 items isnt right.

this is totally true... and this is probably the last time i will bother saying anything on this matter because ALF doesnt care, as according to his numbers and spreadsheets the missiles and pels are OP and will continue to nerf us as he sees fit. So its pretty pointless arguing this anymore

I have fraps bound to f12-11-10, 10 being for my recording. With a Seperate drive to all running software for saving, on some made sessions i can have 200Gb in there i guess. so i should give that wegame a look.  LOL Pause

I won't quit over this change, BUT i do think that it is a major pain the way its turned out [already have it at 4 and will leave it at this till the ep/% is effcient again].

As i may not spreadsheet my extension builds but i do look at my ep/% so i spend my TIME wisely when it comes to ep per performance gain, because we are paying for tht time. Like i said this change makes this enabler a nothing extension. 4 is enough to enable you to drive all ewars, and thats all you SHOULD get if you have any sense at this point. This is because Accumulator expansion now works out cheaper past 3 and more effcient all the way to 10 then spend ep past 4 on this [as a ewar pilot/nexus/support pilot you will want all the acc regen you can get] because a unspec'd pilot [combat] takes 6 months to max these, yet before hand it made sense to add this to the mix.

either way alf has decided that this is best for balance so thats the end of it. Time to just brace for the epic energy manage/acc expan grind to compensate for the 5-10% drop [which adds up to 10-34 days more ep into accumulator management].

because they said that they aren't going to sell ep. but lol at all these thread from people wanting more ep faster

in full perspective 40k is 1 extenstion lvl 9-10 complex 9 ... .. wow i have a 1 extension advantage in the long term, because ep is time based you should only look long term. this thread is just a mess of QQ and whining. maybe people need to look outside the normal coverage for games in the future to find things that they will/do like instead of relying on others to constantly tell them what they need to be looking at.

ok that maybe true, but 1% will never make you stable, and it still takes 6 months to 10 those low complexity extensions. Also as an enabler level 4 to access all the ewar isnt much of a extension.

this will never be agreed, because em/laser users want to use there full range [which means going through hill and such on los], and missile users only have burst alpha strikes over low los as and advantage due to such low range and dmg [in comparison]. No one is going to agree here in theend because everyone wants there weapon to work better. also doesnt help missiles keep getting nerfed but thats something different

With the recent change to spec ops [1% from 2%] and the fact that its high complexity and low requirement to acceess all ewar [level4] means this extension is no long of any ep/% value past 4.

This is because previously the ep/% mean it was viable and useful to level this to 7+ in some cases along side accumulator expansion. But now level 5 has a higher ep/% then level even the lower levels of the expansion skills. And thats with full attributes in that area [complexity 8].

For this skill to be balanced again it needs a reduction in complexity if you are unwilling to leave it at 2%. Otherwise you have a dead extension because its cheaper and more beneficial to concentrate purely on accumulator expansion now.

for me its basically fixed, only a slight 2-3 sec delay on opening it [but i still have a few hundred entries on that char]. otherwise great job

to be honest the number of people i have had to explain this to is ridiculous, and its all down to the grind mmo mentality [just click through go from a to b, and expect that to be it pretty much], or in basic terms like zoom says read the damn briefing. to many people just dont bother, then use the chat channel as a lazy source of info.

you most likely wont get a offcial response on this, as though they dont mind you running multi clients [as longas you arent macroing]. they dont offically support it yet, because of resources.

yup im getting this too, having done a fair few hundred assignments i cant open my profile in the field or have it up, i have to leave it minimised for best usage once i do get it open without crashing.

On what BoyC has said, how multithread capable is the client/engine right now then and would you look at expanding it to 3+ threads [if cpus are available] in the future this would help deal with the cpu limitations by using all cycles at the pc's disposalal instead of bottlenecking on a single thread...seeing as os's arent at the point to fully do this automatically lol
