From 2014-11-14 patch notes:

Industry
Change: Increased the manufacturing unit of energy cells (laser ammo) from 1000 to 1250. (This means that one production batch will create more ammo from the same amount of materials.)

A little correction: currently only NPC spawning has the 10 member scaling limit (cause that's where it can cause various problems), the rest of the objective types don't have this.

Does this mean that other missions won't be scaled or it doesn't have a limit?

If it doesn't have a limit then wouldn't it be a concern people create alts just to inflate the rewards?

It always was. Holding Nauwy is still a license to print NIC and tokens. Back in the day before SPT you had to run back and forth in a cam though. One day soon assignment rewards will be balanced.

Not just nauwy, 1 station on every beta 1 has the mission. And also the beta terminals although not as efficient.

Lol alrighty then. I'm curious to see how this will be implemented. So exciting yarr

slow influx = low retention

because we don't have a marketing budget. At all.

And you could argue that we don't need marketing to keep existing players, and you would be somewhat right. However, there is no such thing as 100% player retention. Everyone will leave sooner or later, and healthy MMOs work because they can combat this by constantly bringing in enough new players.

Hi Devs, it's been mentioned before but you can minimize marketing cost simply by establishing a referral program, get 1 to join, get a month for free or something along that line. That is the cheapest marketing with minimal effort on your part

I don't oppose this, but at the same time if they implement account sell/transfer option it would serve the same effect for the players but more revenue for the devs. Account transfer/ name change is one of the best moves eve did to make the new player feel like they can work their way up.

I just think you need more people to code and bring content faster. Personally I think a year between bots is just too long.

Constant new content is the key to mmo retention and to hire new people I would think a company need a large infuse of fund at one go rather than increase in subscription which would come naturally anyways if there are constant new contents to keep things interesting.

Just my 2 cents

Edit: let me rephrase, the new content is not for our attention span. Most of us vets have been very patient, we just like new things or toys that would keep changing the dynamic of both combat and industrial. A new bot or a new mod here and there would keep people busy developing interesting strategies and builds. Not to mention new grinds for kernels and mats. Right now people already know everything about everything and that's what's making it a bit boring.

I will have to admit game is not ready for steam until the mission system is done completely. We are just gonna bleed players, then the chance for Steam is gone, and it's too late.

We could spend another year to make everything perfect. Sadly there is only so much we can bear financially before there is no game left to develop at all. But there is hope with Steam, and you don't know half of it yet even smile

How much money are we talking about to realistically propel this game to the next level? What about a kickstarter or some crowdfunding? I'm sure some of us would consider it.

Eve had the same problem in their first 4 years. Things take time and money to develop. This team is still small with small budget. Just have to give a chance to grow into something.

it's playable, but everything that needs interaction - station, tp, mobile tp, missions, takes a long time to even have something pop up. Like if you interact with a tp, the screen to jump won't even come up for 2 minutes.

But mining, ratting seems fine. Feels like anything that needs to pull a list is having problem, so I'm thinking database problem.

things takes forever to load, tp, undocking, spark. Please feed the hamster

with missions, the tokens are your best source of income

The concern is that it costs virtually nothing to drop a base and then move it when the mining spot is depleted. In this way mining becomes risk free on gamma. This is already done and is wrong. You put a base on top of the mining spot and then you can dock instantly with zero risk if enemies show up.

A change that moves mining spots from under bases will force mining parties to be exposed. This is the essence of pvp, having resource gathering associated with risk.

Seems a bit counter-intuitive to me, I mean what else would your terminal placement be based on if not natural defenses and nearby resources. I get the problem but I think this would need another solution, though I don't have anything for now.

Maybe make it return only 33% resources during deconstruction

DEV Zoom wrote:

A really important thing you need to add is removing all mining spots within 1km of a base when its constructed. Without this people will:
1) build bases on mining spots and instadock meaning you cannot kill anyone who's awake.
2) build bases with defences on every colixium spot in the game - total control of colixium mode activated!

I'm sure you're aware that mineral fields move around if they are depleted, so I don't quite understand the concern here.

Means miners are still invulnerable if they just spend a little time putting up the base.

Damn china big_smile

But the price of bitcoin have no impact on business that decide accepts them as they do not hold bitcoin but rather go through payment processor for instant conversion at a 1% fee, which is much less than what credit card would charges. Specially when it comes to micro transactions like perpetuum subscription.

0 risk, all the upside smile

How about a bot that player can customize how many slots it can have. There is a base stat, then you can add high, mid, low slots to it with each one penalizing in some areas
