I'm finally settled in a bit with a friend in Granby, Missouri.  I have computer access now but the computer here isn't much of a gaming machine roll

The insurance agents worked quickly and gave me an instant check for my policy maxium under my renters insurance.  Kudos to American Family Insurance for not making me fill out a single form.  FEMA compensation seems impossible since I have insurance but I don't need that now.  Folks at church and work have also been more than helpful.

I'm going to spend the next days working and looking for a new place to live somewhere close to work.  I'm thinking about heading down I-44 a bit and getting closer to Tulsa somewhat.

Donations are still very much needed.  If you are local and are thinking about donating goods that will be delivered directly, consider sending food as this is the primary need.  Clothing is plentiful at the moment.  Not only do we need to feed people that are now homeless, we need to feed the thousands of volunteers and workers now in the area.  A donation to the Red Cross can be made at https://american.redcross.org/site/Dona … tion=form1.
They have been working in great numbers here and could use the help.

For now I'm looking forward to moving into a permanent location, getting internet hooked up and building a new gaming rig.  I've got the dollars to do a bit of a nice one so I think I'm going to splurg on that just a bit:D The insurance monies will also allow me to pay off ALL credit debts that I have which I will do as soon as the check clears.  For the first time in my adult life I will actually be debt free!  I'll try to make it last.

As a last sort of happy ending, I managed to rescue my Garfield stuffed animal out of the rubble that is now my apartment.  After a couple of spins through the gentle cycle, he actually came out shiny and new.  I've had him since I was five and it was a nice find.  *sniff*

I just wanted to let my corpmates and everyone know that I will be out of action for a bit.  I live in Joplin, Missouri USA and my place of residence, along with my gaming rig was completely destroyed by a tornado yesterday.

The good news is I got out alive and I have renters insurance so hopefully I will be back in action soon.  It could be a while - the amount and area of destruction is quite massive.

@ mods - I wasn't sure where to post this.  Thanks all. hmm

Until next time.

More podcasts please!  Great job gents, keep it up:D

I saw a Perpetuum banner on MMORPG.com today:D  Not sure how long they have been advertising with them but I do visit there like daily.  Money well spent IMO!

Youtube next perhaps?  TV spots seem too expensive at this time.

Yea, just find a good corp and you're fine.  You'll always be collecting EP so you will never really be behind.

Folks.  This may not be an AAA title.  But it's damm good.  We need money for advertising and a new server at least.  It's not like the DEV's are eating steaks every night.  I'll bet bandwith and hardwear are eating up a huge portion of the monies they're collecting.

In fact I'd like to see them open up a pay shop of some sort.  Let us buy paint jobs and bumperstickers and such for our bots.  Just a thought.

The prices are fine.

Also DEVs.  Let's consider eliminating the 'New Balance' amount altogether.  Our NIC balances are on display already in the upper left hand corner.

I would suggest adding spaces instead of commas or decimals, since that would avoid both Euros and Brits/Americans getting confused over a different convention. I think they have already done this in some parts of the game.

e.g.
100 000
1 000 000
etc

I like that.

I was referring to cycles.  Surly the game mechanics could be taken into account to calculate the degrade level for the following cycles and take the appropriate amount of materials.

can't be done - degrade of CTs is random based and happens at the end of the cycle.
theres no way to forsee how much materials the next cycle needs.
taking more materials then displayed would cause even more forum posts.
precalculating with random factor would make it exploitable (refresh window until i get a lower degration)

There's no reason that the RNG can't calculate each cycle at the beginning.

In lieu of personal housing, can you develop a mechanic where we can purchase 'lockers' or common storage at terminals.  Allow us to set permissions for characters not on that account to access that storage and lock all others out.

It would be helpful with those of us with multiple accounts to share modules without having to be there constantly to trade.  Also they could be used by corporations as an additional mechanic to issue mods and materials to certain corp members.

Thanks.

Personal housing? Wait wut?

In case this isn't a troll:
I really like the idea of linked storages across multiple characters. The corporation storage current isn't able to provide this well enough without high level of trust but I guess that's so that multiple accounting has at least a few drawbacks.Shared folders in personal storage would be interesting. Like a drop-box of sorts. I'd personally keep most of my storage shared across two of my characters as they do nearly the same job. But I can also see this being hard to implement.

Nope.  No troll.  Was not some sort of POS system (i.e. housing) proposed for Perpetuum?  Only reason I mentioned it.

Please have Factories collect ALL materials (and ALL NIC) for every programmed manufacturing cycle upon beginning of the first cycle.  Currently the factory will only collect the materials needed for the first cycle only.

This makes it difficult to see which materials are 'spoken for' by current production cycles when starting multiple lines that have similar materials.  There's no need to leave these materials in a person's storage.  The only reason I can think of is that is someone wants to cancel a factory cycle mid production.  I say those people should simply lose those mats, which is how the current mechanic works with the current cycle anyways.

Thanks.

Could we please change the color of the font to green under the EVENTS tab for all NIC gained.  Red for NIC spent. Currently these numbers are yellow or gold and located inside the parentheses.

Also could we please add commas (or decimals) to the thousandth, hundred-thousandth, and hundred-millionth numeric places for easier reading.

Thanks

This assignment does not drop the 'file' for delivery.  Contractor: Geysier-Kronwerk transportation assignment level 3 from Tellesis Main to Hersfield main.

Lost rep on Uncle Mo and Uncle Zo.

Thanks.

For the Yarloch teleport both destinations are listed as Lenworth, Attalica and Lenworth, New Virginia.

Change Attalica destination to read Berwalem Attalica.

I agree a change needs to be made.  Leave the Transport missions alone IMO and make all the other missions worth while and more interesting.  We need more content as it it.

totally disagree with topic starter, and Bawdrick posted a good explanation why.

the complexity of them is perfect as it is.

you could also say "thelodica robot control 10 is something every asintec agent should reach in a few week, so he can concentrate on more on other skills"

and if you really need more akkumulator:
- put an auxillery one in your mech
- get a mk2 mech (most of them have accumulator bonus)
- raise "special ops robot control"
- and hell, if your going to face accumulator issues in combat: fit injector and get recharger support (nexus or tranfer)

Actually I said that the Robot Control skills should be very difficult.  I agree that modules should be there to substitute for lack of skills.

My point is, Navigation speed is just as critical as Accumulator recharge rate for a bot pilot.  They are both critical!  So how can one be a Level 1 skill and the others Level 5?

Bawdrick wrote:

Accumulator is the life blood of PVP.
Those extensions are like the navigation extensions . Either make it so everyone to afford it from day one or make it something only the elites can afford to max out.

For the record there is only ONE 'Navigation' extension (not several extensions) and it's a level 1 skill.  I do agree that if Energy Mgt. is a level 5 skill, then so should it be with Navigation.  PvP is the lifeblood of PvP, but that's why there's energy drainers.  If you PvP you should expect to be energy drained.  Making it easier to raise Accumulator skills would give you an extra volley or two or cycle on a repairer.  As it stands now, it's easy to drain energy from enemy bots.

(Anyone having Eve flashbacks before the Nosferatu nerf?)

I want to train my combat pilot in these skills from 6 to 8 and I'm finding that it will take over 33 days?!  We all know how important these skills are, but I feel in this case that 33 days is way too long for a mere six percent increase.  For an industrial character it would only take 21 days to make the same skill jump, and these skills would arguably benefit the industrial character a great deal more if they mine and remote rep.

These skills seem as basic to me as Armor Repair (Level 1 skill, 5% decrease to cycle time), Navigation (Level 1 skill, 3% increase speed/level) and Data Processing (Level 1 skill, 3% increase in CPU performance).  They all offer a modest percentage increase in performance to a basic robot function.

I'm not saying that we bump them down to Level 1 skills mind you, but Level 3 should definitely be considered.  Accumulator Expansion and Energy Management 10 should be a goal for every pilot and a reasonably obtainable one.

(EDIT:  Another EP comparison:  It takes a Kain pilot just under 26 days to be able to sit in a Mesmer.  That's Nuimqol Robot from 5 to 8 and Advanced Robot from 1 to 4.  This seems completely reasonable.  The fact that it takes an extra week to raise Energy Mgt. and Accu Expansion both from 6-8 is ridiculous)

As it stands now, it will take a new combat schooled pilot 142 DAYS or almost five months to max these two skills!!!  For the new Industrial pilot it's just shy of 90 days or three months....for two, basic skills.

In summary, the only skills that should take this long are the ones listed under Robot Control, and perhaps those that greatly effect weapon skills (Crit Hit and Missile Guidance are fine) and one day those that will deal with Heavy Weapons whenever they're released.  Even at level 3 it will still take 3 months to max both of these skills for the combat pilot and one quarter year is long enough folks.

Patience Daniel Son.  Focus!
