Looks like a ton of man hours went into this DEV's so thanks for that.  I think the new system will encourage more small squad PvP roaming and that is badly needed right now.  5% is the only way to start of fair that allows everyone to keep their beta progress ongoing.  Once implemented I hope the DEV's do not respond to knee-jerk reactions from players.  The new system will take some time to 'season' before we can fully appreciate it's nuances.

This is truly the anti-blob patch. It's going to take a ton of squads running around to try to keep up with 'everything'.

Additional risk vs. reward elements may need to be implemented at some point but this is the right foot to start on.

hooray

/disagree  If an items doesn't sell in 30 days it never will.  Also the database needs to be kept small as possible.

Let's face it.  Server populations are at a low point again.  Corp drama has taken us as far as it can go as a reason to PvP.  Until the Beta islands are massively revamped, Perpetuum simply isn't going to grow.  (Obviously the server needs to be moved too, but that's another story.)

Certainly we don't want the DEV's to rush out a patch that isn't well thought out and constructed.  I for one will keep my accounts active to collect EP, like I'm sure many others are doing right now while they are playing EVE or World of Tanks.  The Intrusion patch has the potential to make or break this game so please DEV's, make it a good one.

Guild Wars 2, The Secret World and SWTOR are just around the corner and they are all promising compelling PvP (not to mention Planetside 2, Tribes Universe and Archage).  Perpetuum needs to secure their portion of the market share before these monsters come along and Perpetuum is left in the dust.

I am loving Perpetuum so far and the DEV's have been good to us for certain but we have to acknowledge that even though the amount of active subs have probably remained fairly constant so far, people are still not getting in game very much.

Will a successful Intrusion Patch and possibly a server move be enough to give Perpetuum the boost that it needs or am I missing something else?

Level 1 decoders now have use via the new Production Assignments!  No need to waste a high level decoder on those.  Nice change by the DEV's I might add.

Why not allow players to untrain extensions for a NIC cost?

You could do a full attribute re-assign too. But, in order to be able to use the attribute reset, you must first unspend all of your extensions. This stops abusing attribute reset to train skills efficiently.

Yay, no more need to delete characters ever again.

I think this should be a purchasable item in a future item shop.  Respec one skill for $1.99.  There would be a maximum on one respec allowed per 30 days to prevent massive skill shifting.  For a small price players could adjust their EP allotments slowly without losing Kernels eaten or standings!

Thanks for adding unstack by volume.  Can you make it so that last selection is saved on this menu so you don't have to keep selecting the selector switch from 'number of units' to volume.

If the last split was unstack by 'volume' 10U each, then when shift-dragging the next stack, the menu should just pop up with that already selected.

Why not.

Must have been temporary internet bad routing.  Seems okay now.

What is going on with the server tonight?  Takes a couple minutes to log in and once I'm in, 2000-3000 ping lag times?  US player here.

How about instead you actually play the game properly Omen?  Maybe, just maybe, you could protect your mining ops with some combat bots and perhaps even I dunno...some scouts? roll

SOLUTION = All EW causes zero point one point damage.  Won't effect balance at all.

Give 'em a little time to hash it out folks.

All the informational windows for all raw mats need to be review and updated.

Still +1 what happened to the other thread?

Not sure bro.  Don't remember any badness going on previous.

If the collision point is determined at the middle of the bot then what is the point of 'squares'?  The game terrain should be a concentric series of pixils at that point.  Or smallish squares or areas.

Baa.  This level of game coding is beyond my expertise, which is about zero.  Still, there is some logic here that may be applied to the game. What say you DEV's?

Perpetuum is the name of the MMO.  Perpetuum Online is the name of this website.

By the way I think it's silly the Perpetuum is considered a misspelled word according to this forum's dictionary.

If I have to refuel POS's again I'm quitting.  It was the reason I quit stEVE.  Game felt more like a job.

Bot and terminal background, kernals, plasma, icons are red.  If I were thelodica I would immediately paint all my bots red to correct the error.

Yes!  Red FFS.  I hate that they're called yellow especially when the industrials have yellow-colored icons and orange-ish yellow paint.

That's all well and good but what we really need to know is...can you hammer a six-inch spike through a board with your ***?

Get some rest boys.

I've got some computer parts from Newegg on the way and if they all work, I should be up and running Friday or Saturday.  I can't wait to get back to gaming.  I miss it badly.

I had been holding off building a new comp for a while to see if I could get a home loan.  It looks like that will just have to wait.

Here's the new build anyways:

For the rest I'll have to run in to Best Buy and pick up.  I'll have to buy my Nostromo and Logitech KB over again and a sweet monitor.

I hope things are going well on the world of Nia.  I can't wait to see some of the changes.

Until then:D

I hope the 'break' doesn't turn permanent.  I for one fully understand how RL can jump up and put gaming on delay.  big_smile

Looking forward to the next podcast boys.  Really enjoy those!

So I'm building a new gaming rig from scratch and I really want to concentrate on the sound portion of the build.  Obviously Perpetuum isn't terribly resource intensive as far as CPU and GPU demands compared to the latest equipment.  I've decided to go with a midrange build coupled with a high-end audio system.  I want top notch headset audio and some fantastic speakers.  I really enjoy music when I'm not on TS and depending on the time of day, I'll have the speakers running, or I'll throw on the headset so as not to bother the neighbors.

The combination I was using before was:
Headset - Turtle Beach TBS-2114 Earforce HPA2 5.1 Surround Sound Headset with Amplifier and Removable Microphone
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6826502011
Soundcard - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional 70SB088600002 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express x1 Interface Sound Cardhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … -_-Product
Speakers - Logitech Z506 75 watts RMS 5.1 Surround Sound Speakershttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6836121044

This was a fairly good combination because the headset was nice and loud for audio with the amplifier built in.  It was difficult at times to get the headset to 'talk' to the soundcard but with a ton of settings tests, I found a nice combo.   The speakers were great, but they did tend to crack at higher volumes. Also the headset microphone began to wear out after about four months and a replacement mic cost 3 times the cost of the mic in shipping costs because TB execs have their heads up their ***.

I could go with the same combo but the headset is sold out everywhere and I'm not so sure about Turtle Beach anymore anyways.

So with all that in mind, and price is no object, what audio setup would you go with?  I would even consider a combo that involved a gaming headset and switching out to music headphones.  I'm a bit of an audiofile and I need high-volume, high-quality music.

Thanks for the well wishes gents.  I enjoyed the podcast as usual.

I would echo the sentiment that even though we have our gaming differences as players and rivalries have formed, it's all in good fun at the end of the day.  The great community is one of the reasons that I believe will see Perpetuum turn into a mainstream title and hopefully continue to grow year after year. Who knows, perhaps we will one day reach the level of subscribers that that 'other' MMO has big_smile

The citizens of Joplin are keeping their spirit's high and there is widespread talk of plans to rapidly rebuild.  My apartment complex has issued a final call to look for salvageable possessions as they plan on beginning the demolition process.  The plan is to have the complex rebuilt by September if you can believe that!  Considering the lack of construction jobs that exist currently in the United States, Jopllin will be offering tons of employment in that industry for at least the next two years if not longer.  Although it's difficult to look at the 'bright side' of things, we must move on at some point.

I will attempt to post some pictures I've gathered so far at some point.  Television simply does not do justice to the images I've seen this past week.
