So, how are we going to encourage bots/stuff to blow up? Havn't seem this concern addressed yet. Something needs to drive conflict besides epeen even with a low server population.

There needs to be something finite to fight over from small scale to large scale that can scale with the games population.

Coalxium/Epriton/Norgalis can be mined/harvested in near unlimited quantities, the only real limiting factor is how fast you can do it. So what are we supposed to be fighting over one island gives us it all (and other factional materials can just be imported from alpha)?

Good thing you can just buy them for cheap on the market smile, they don't even need to build them!

I do still think that making the coast un terraformable would help the situation. i hade this comment back in feb... you should HAVE to use mobile TPs to get around gamma's

But how are we to gather energy from the oceans of nia!

No denying or last hitting

DO NOT WANT

big_smile

I guess it could be cool, but i don't see it having anywhere near the depth of DotA

I think the developers are averse to adding any new bots of pretty much any kind sadly because after all the times they have talked about it nothing ever happened.

Feel free to prove me wrong devs o/

I was actually hoping Gamma would have had a new kind of NPC hard to kill but worth alot.

Roaming observer gangs that focus fire / spider tank / do hardcore ewar and require organized strategies / compositions to take down. They should drop beacons that are even more bad *** and escalate based on the number of bots you have  cool

TLDR:

NPC hunting on gamma needs to be both challenging and rewarding. Currently it is neither.

I don't think changing it really is needed. Get your detection alt out and look for the spawns. Get team up and farm them, you should get many times more plasma then from top Beta spawns. Gamma is supposed to have ultra hard spawns from the start and it is perfectly logical. Too few spawns? There are more islands if you are willing to take the risk.

Personally I think the spawns, now after the latest rebalancing patch, are perfect and should not be messed with any more.

Please leave this thread to people who actually farm for plasma seriously.

Lemon is right, you can make far more on alpha. Try a beta 5 star mech spawn.... Gamma farming is the weakest of all three island types.

Gamma NPCs are the most underwhelming part of the entire thing...

Missing more kills rocks! fuuu

Risk vs Reward is crying.

The risk has been exponentially increased but our reward remains WORSE than living on a beta island.

The change itself is not bad, its the context and the manner the change is being executed. Make gamma actually worth living on before you remove the only legitimate reason to live there besides epeen.

I personally hate when people abuse trial accounts and use them just to grief others or gain unfair advantages. How about you?

While I think these guys were not necessarily using this exploit in a gamebreaking manner this could be very well used to break the game and needs to be fixed IMMEDIATELY.

Its not simply metagaming game mechanics, it is exploiting a bug.

Instant respawn is a good concept, but it also needs to be balanced. But there should be some additional NPC risk on gamma over the current level for sure.

There needs to be additional risk AND reward tongue. Otherwise its not balanced.

The current incarnation of NPCs on gamma has little of either I might add which does not really suit its nature very well. Its a high risk/reward environment.

+1, would be great to be able to share scan results as documents or waypoints.

In fact, it would be great if you could combine a load of mining scans into a "mining map" document, that would have read/write permissions like terraforming, would make working together mining much better i think.

Best reply in the thread +1

Devs listen to this guy. One of the best ideas I have heard in a long time. Would make mining directors jobs much easier if they had had data uploaded automatically or manually from the corps geoscanners.

+1 this is hurting new player experience and needs to be fixed

I like this idea very much. Being able to trade them in station was a start, but its still dumb!

Yes, we need more PvE content in general. However I think PvE content can be challenging without 5star NPC's on alpha. What is the point of farming anywhere else if you can get the very best in complete safety? You can already do this with beacons.

There needs to be increased risk for high end PvE content like smarter AI that works together, reps eachother, specialized ewar bots etc. Increased risk does not necessarily have to be from PvP but it needs to at least match it in a way in order to keep game ballance. Something that challenges players in general.

And yes, the game needs more spawns. Let me breakdown current spawn ballance.

Alpha: A couple good 4star spawns for medium-high end players but not enough to support a larger population.
Beta: Some good 5star mech/hmech spawns here, probobly the most ballanced of all the islands
Gamma: Total crap, its currently not even worth your time to hunt down roaming NPCs here compared to beta spawns / beacons
Beacons: Ballanced just fine right now. The only form of NPC farming currently worth your time on gamma. Rewards increase as you can run them faster on beta and even faster than that on gamma with the right setup.

TLDR:

Add more level 4 alpha2 spawns
Make farming worth your time on gamma somehow
Add new exciting PvE content for all players

Machine guns are good for PvE because they have decent damage output and don't use any accumulator. Also it allows you to do different damage type ratios than your normal guns which can also be useful.

Autocannons are great for tanky PvP fits which don't need alot of range and dont want to spend cap using lasers/magnetics.

Machine Guns/Autocannons havn't been balanced around a bonus so they are fine without one.

TLDR: If you are looking to maximize your DPS don't use them. If their various advantages benefit your fit more than the additional DPS other weapon types provide, use them.

Most of producible modules have Niani equivalent.
In some cases t3- modules is requered as fitting module, but not only as scraps for reprocessing.
It would be great if you introduce at least next Niani modules:

t3- Reactor sealing
t3- EndWar upgrades
t3- ERP

Yeah, artifact scanning should always receive niani versions of new modules as soon as they are intetroduced to continue to give artifact scanning a window of opportunity.

I am sorry artifact scanning has been neglected here.

+1 we should also remove Titan, Epriton, Coalxium from gamma and stop allowing norgalis to be planted there!

Shame on the OP for actually living on gamma and expressing his thoughts about actually living there!

The Great Hokko Potato Famine: Streamed live from general chat!

WARNING: Tons of epic potato explosions and sap loot!

The thing gamma islands are basically roam proof when done correctly so owning this island would be no additional danger and the logistics would be ez mode compared to other islands.

Owning one of these islands would basically be a license to print NIC.

The new beta island thing sounds ok though.

in order for this to be balanced there would need to be a detecting nexus hmm then were right were we are now

Target painter says hello.

A detection nexus would be pointless because you pretty much only use a detector in 1-2 bots. Guess it could be used as a way to mitigate masking nexus but seems like it would not be the optimal solution at all.

The game really needs a corp like this, best of luck to you guys cool

This is a sandbox game, to take a path of higher resistant simply because its not "easy mode" is never going to happen. Players are going to maximize whatever they can regardless if it means using a 3rd party tool.

I personally don't care whether they add this to the game or not because either way I am going to continue to take the path that leads to maximum profit for myself whether that means using a 3rd party tool or not.

Celebro wrote:

That's why I like local/Sector chat ,but most seem to hate it. The hell with probes. Edited*

The thing about sector chat is though that a "sector" in perpetuum is much bigger in travel time than a system in that other game. Having sector chat would render any sort of covert ops activity useless and at the same time making scouting simply not important either.

The ammuont of travel time required between the attacker and defender is always sufficient to escape with no extra effort by the defender.

We already have many tools to ensure safety of our islands (gate scouts, probes detectors) and at the end of the day it is up to us to use them properly and in the right contexts.

Would be interesting to see what the intended role of probes are from the devs.
