In all honesty, the vets don't matter.  We are not whats going to save this game.  The influx of new players who come with steam launch are going to be what saves this game.  So instead of asking people who don't play, what mechanics they like and don't like, how about we ask the new players what they think?

its not like some of us have been in corps that once had 600+ members & seen 90% of those ppl give up on this game after 3-4 month of playing

Actually a larger population i think would make the arguments put forth in this thread even more valid, since with greater population this mechanic & style of play would be used even more & you could also assume that with a better more well stocked market being able to just "grab" a bot fast would be easier to do.

STC has always had a hard time winning against a competent enemy when facing even numbers. during CIR's last little stint in this game showed that many times.

Small gang PVP never seemed to recover after Walls 1.0

More people preferring to live on a heavily fortified Gamma Base than the more risky life of a Beta.

And in the end Game Population has a massive impact.

You are right tho Spark TPing isnt the sole problem with power projection... have a proper enemy to push back against another faction influence solves alot of problems.

I agree it does blow & the current Tp network needs to be tweaked. I think the big issue is more with the Alpha <> Alpha connections.

Let me help you out with some ideas big_smile

The CEO of a corp can create a Conglomerate & the creator Corp's CEO is Conglomerate President
The President & directors of a Conglomerate invite corp to Conglomerate
The President of a Conglomerate wants to give his position away then he can give it to another member corp CEO
The directors of a corp that's CEO is President of the Conglomerate also have kick rights or what ever else this mechanic can do.

you could add a new "tab" to the corporation management window for Conglomerates that list each corp & who the executor corp is.
right clicking any corp would give you the options to:
Remove
Set as Executor

Have a text box for: invite corp to Conglomerate
And or allow invites to be a "right clickable" option on a corporations info window.

^^ that would be the basics i can think of atm. or perhaps you could give Conglomerates their own New button smile which would allow i guess for future expansion of the feature.

I have some ideas on what those features could be that have been kicking around my head for the last 2 years lol.

but I think ill need some sleep & Ms word tongue

^^ This is absolutely insane.  You want to limit the play time that people have in a game that they are paying to play?  24 hours for a gamma spark?  STC has leveled the defenses of an entire gamma island in less that 24 hours,  and you want to make it so players cant spark in and defend there own gamma for a full day because they sparked there once last night, and now have to wait another 12 hours to go defend it? 
What happens to the poor soul who sparks into a station with no assets?  They get to walk with an arkhe for 2 hours to back to a station that sells teles?

For those of you who dont know conglomerates are Perpetuum's version of Alliances.

I know the mechanic for them are still in Game (confirmed by Gargaj) & even if they for now or the future it serves no real purpose it would still be a nice little feature to have. Maybe even enable an (optional) Channel for conglomerate chat.

Actually some of us did bring up how sparks with no timers was a bad idea back when the dev blog came out.
But i personally no longer care enough to go find my Posts about it.

i will however say this, the way the Current spark system works (just to be clear i like spark Telleporting always have, i just have never liked no timer) seems to conflict with the TP network redesign.
The reason why so many people way back when asked for a redesign was the old layout made the world unworkable small. I dont think the way the current network & HWYs are layout is a good design I still think is was a move in the right direction. (starter islands should have kept the old TP "triangle")

The Aim of many people that supported a TP redesign was to spread out the world a bit to make power Projection Harder for Alliances.
Unlimited spark TPing Brakes this line of thinking. I could state why but a number of people have already brought up the Cons.

This is how i would have preferred the whole Spark System to be designed:

Re-spawn Spark (the place where you respawn after death): could only set Your home station once every 24hours

Spark Telleporting:
30-60Min for any Alpha 1 island
6-8Hours for any Alpha 2 island
20-24 Hours for Beta / Gamma

This would highlight the importance of choosing when to TP to sparks on PVP islands yet leave alpha with shorter timers for trade & other things. Sure PVPers can still use Alpha but it makes non stop TPing around the whole game a bit harder & rewards smart thinkers.

The way this System currently works might be ok with a Very small number of players but it will scale very badly if that number ever increases.
