Yes, it's certainly not an easy problem to solve. It's one thing that the server can easily validate terrain slopes, the harder part is to make the client-side terraforming tools consider the limits in real time. Or if not, then at least help you in easily resolving invalid slopes.


I thought of 3 ways to combat this...

1. If TFing plans are still used, Have the edges of the plan Auto smooth along plan boarders to Light bot Terrain Slope.

2. It might still be possible to create "cliffs tiles" thru the use of TF Beacons. to negate this instead of having a Beacon TF tile within a 100m Radius or what ever it is. Have Beacons terraform the whole Plan at once. this would require beacons to be placed on the edges of a plan & that players TFing stand outside the plane boundaries.

3. Remove TF beacon/ Tf Plans & have all TFing be done with Single Tile Terraformers. This might be an easier option as you can only target 1 tile moving it up & down. The higher or lower the tile the greater the fall off.
You could have different Ammo types for different slope grades. I could go on but i think you get the general idea of where im going. smile

As for Terminals having CPU & Grid for MPC networks it would be cool if T1 T2 T3 terminals have more CPU & Grid as u get more advanced.

I got a few things i wanna point out but im still reading thru all the posts but i just have to make i point with regards:

The Current terraforming yes does allow for very cool looking bases it has 1 problem: Players are given WAY to much power. This power will always be abused. So on this note i support Zooms idea for changing Terraforming.

Gamma PVP is fun but even so being able to wall off an island 2km out from TPs is still bad design & the longer this isnt fixed the more nerd rage the devs will cop in the future.
Since more people will have sunk time into building these kind of defenses. 

IMO better to get some kind of nerf / mechanic change with a small population & follow up later on with some further balancing.

When your in playing around with a TerraForming plan it is resetting its self at random times while your working on it. This has just started to happen after the patch.

to me the whole alpha - beta - gamma relationship is up the creek.

Alpha Missions suck so bad (ya i know devs are fixing em but yEah). Hiighway & Tp Network layout makes new & old players wanna kill them selves.

Beta has some missions i guess that MIGHT be worth doing. Epi is now on beta but hey with any real in game population good luck on being able to mine it! (looking at you detectors).

Gammas have the biggest joke for NPCs outside of beacon pit farming. Terraforming mechanics that are used to brake WAY to many game mechanics. Epi was only moved off Gamma coz this was an easy bandaid instead of fixing the real issues.

So yeah Beta does need some love BUT just trying to address Beta at the cost of looking at how the WHOLE system inter relates will just keep this cycle going on forever.

I mean really these forum threads about these same issues have been going on for over 3 years now. its like watching a dog chase its own tail.

wtf not this again.... The DEVs should never do EP resets for when a game changes unless an Extension is removed.  Seriously EVERY time the devs make a change theres always a small but vocal minority that cry for a ep reset.

When the production system was changed to a points systems people cried for a indy reset i said F*** that im keeping what ever advantages i have, i dont care if its now less than what it was b4 still works in my favore. 

This is a sand box game where your actions & what you do & train with you Alter ego mean something.  new players get 30days to undo any little F***ups they make.

You want a real issue to get on the DEVs backs about when it comes to Extension refunds how about...

well heres the thing. ok so a T3 term Proto is 2.3bill. how you CT that proto How many runs from that CT could you make? 10? 20? Even if its 10 thats a build cost of 230m per station & for a T3 station that sounds very reasonable. You can then also extend the life of your CTs by combining old ones.

theres also a number of other ways you can cut production costs.

Having MPC proto buildings wouldnt be the end of the world & it would allow for market competition AND give new corps a way to a new gamma setup without us old farts giving away all the tech weve got.

untill then i will be happy to sell what T3 tech i have smile

MPC buildings need to switch to a proto system other wise no one will ever trade.

BUT it only takes 1 person to Stuff up the whole show So i will start selling T3 buildings to any one thats want them.

Then we will see who will start crying.

Just incase you have never heard of it War Thunder is a MMO combat game dedicated to World War II military aviation, armored vehicles, and fleets.
You will take part in all of the major combat battles, fighting with real players all over the world.

If you have ever played World Of Tanks well soon War Thunder will have full Tank battles to.
The developers are also working on Navel Warfare. these fights last i read are planned to happen simultaneously within the same game. land, sea & air.

lets see if they can pull it off!

For now BETA testing has the Air war part only.

I agree with What Blocker posted above 100% it is beyond stupid that on Alpha 2 we have orange spawns. Back when we had the EVE influx noob had a ton of fun hunting down Observer's on shinjala. The effort & planning they needed to do to engage NPCs (more for of the higher classes) was fun & not a pure mindless grind.

I can understand what the DEVs were trying to do but in doing it they killed one of the better aspects of this game.
Keep Alpha 1s orange, bring back alpha 2s to their former glory & more.

Also Martha Has some really good ideas that would be nice to see done!
