Re: PVE kills pushed to through the API (30 replies, posted in Feature discussion and requests)
Whereas I support this idea in general, I still ask my self, without going into further details, if this has anything to to with some vet player idiots, making a sport of pulling red npc´s onto newbies latley on alpha´s, to watch them blow up their new shiny s. What a sincere welcome to new players.

Re: Continue to launch Steam Perpetuum from your taskbar (2 replies, posted in Guides and Resources)
but the steam desktop item can not be attached to the taskbar, other than over the steam bootstrapper, as it is of file type Webdocument. That´s what this is all about

Topic: Continue to launch Steam Perpetuum from your taskbar (2 replies, posted in Guides and Resources)
If like me, you are used to run your differnet clients from the convenience of your taskbar, you will notice, that you cannot stick your perpetuum steam to your taskbar, as your perp desktop launcher is a "webdocument" containing a URL something like, of course you can run it from your taskbar steam bootstrapper or from desktop, but I like it directly on my taskbar:
Your Webdocument URL to perpetuum:
steam://rungameid/223410
If you want to continue launching steam as a shortcut from your taskbar, easiest step are:
223410 should be your perp ID
launch steam,
stick perpetuum to your taskbar
right click on the launcher
right click on perpetuum
chose properties
Change "Target" path to (alter your path to steam, if necessary)
C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 223410
Confirm that "Start in" path is:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Perpetuum
now you can run and stick Perpetuum Steam launcher to your taskbar.

Topic: Link account to Steam (7 replies, posted in Q & A)
I have a question,
when I link my account to steam, will I still be able to log in with my perpetuum credentials on the stand alone client, if I wish?
How is the perp account linked to steam? When playing with the steam client, do I log in with my perp account credentials, or are my perp account credentials linked directly to my steam account and I don´t actually have my old login anymore, because my steam login is used instead?

your other statement are simply desperate and off topic. If you want to start a trolling ping pong on how invalid each others corps are, why not join corp dialogue.

If you want to compensate your mistakes, buy your downgrade packs. If you get bored with your current abilities and want a change, skill something new, buy your EP booster packs to get there faster.
This is money sink and credits both sides. You might want an EP reset, that is fair enough. But that is thinking on narrow grounds with just your selfish demands in focus and not seeing the big picture, of what damage an EP reset does to a persistent world, which is based on evolving on mistakes and diversity through that. Repeating myself - we have had it before and seen what effect it had on the game in praxis, not theory crafting. So its a fact.
Any argument, but in other games respecs are a big seller and doesn´t harm the environment is picking the raisins as arguments and leaving out the other facts. As even in other games, which are most likely to be theme parks, you will only respec your skill path of your choose class and not your class.
If you want to play a different class, well, you just have to create a new character, even in other games. Here your class is determined on how you distribute your EP´s and any resets will harm the persistence of the current environment.
Knowing to be repeating myself, the current solution suggested by Zoom is the most valid one and presents a bridge to both sides and is a money sink.

Unfortunalty my post overlapped, Zoom´s comment. I find Zooms approach a good way to bridge the gap between correcting misplaced EP´s and and the ability to create an income.

oh overlaped post... while writing.
Based on your feedback and after some internal discussion, we have decided to not offer EP resets for now.
The cost of the extension downgrade feature is proportional to the refunded EP, so we'll see how people will use that. A separate EP reset may not even be needed besides that.
seems practicable

Re: New devblog: The end of subscriptions, the start of something new (266 replies, posted in News and information)
I am stumbled by the thought that we had EP resets and we´ve seen what damage it did to the game, accordingly it was abandoned by the DEV´s again. This isn´t debatable, as it is a fact. Openly known I am totally against it after a time of 2-3 month of character creation.
On the other sideI do agree with, that DEV´s need to find a source of income. To balance this, might be a hard bridge to build. Yet any free reset or "10€" reset is equal to free and does not present a hurdle. At least for the working community, I would think.
Zoom´s approach I feel like is the best so far, with a reset cost of 30%. It will not hurt a new player EP wise that much, to compensate a wrong turn. A scalable approach is not practicable, as it only needs one free or cheap reset for a mass "color of the month" reset and the damage is done.
With a 30% cost, I definitely think twice, about resetting, yet in return it allows me to turn my "minning" path to a damage path, which would if a desired choice, I will gladly spend 30% EP´s.
Problem still is, there is still not an income generated for the DEV´s, whereas the solution is practicable balance wise, it needs a € sink. A combination of both might be a solution, such as 30% EP Loss and a 5€.
As with Grems argument, that other games have it as well and it didn´t do them any bad. I have to agree to disagree, on the term, that you a right, it is a good source of income in many games, yet, on other games you have a different basis. I might not have an overall picture of the whole game spectrum, but on all games I know of, you reset your skill points in a class path, but you do not change the entire class.
Secondly those games are theme parks and not persistent sand boxed ones. But like said, I might be missing games here, which I don´t know of, where in a persistent sandbox you can reset your complete class or even all skill points. - Just a thought.
