This explains all. Now I understand what Glimpse has been eating that makes him so graphically vocal about some of his bodily functions on TS.

No reason an explosion blast radius should be able to go through a building, from either a gameplay or realism perspective.

In addition to what Crepitus says, you can't compare volleys because that doesn't take into account cycle times.

Pretty sure you have only managed two more threads since then.

I would actually prefer not to have a balancing system where one faction is preferred over another for roams. We do take green and yellow mechs on roams if that's what people can use, but most of the time people don't want to, and the ones who do always complain about being slower than everyone else. Or get laughed at for eating kain dust and missing out on the trophies.

Missile bots may shine in intrusions, but it seems a bit hard on them since we get to participate in those less often...and where does that leave poor old laser mechs?

But given that kains are close range, I don't know how you would change them to make the artemis and tyrannos an equally popular option as a roam mech. Maybe reducing the speed just a teensy bit to make the gap between them closer?

This is why I don't like systems with that use speed to balance things - it's simply too crucial in open world pvp.

(As an aside, seeing as I hear Dev Alf wants to make base detection and masking attributes different for each faction, I bet he wants to give kains higher masking and lower detection values. Which would make them even more popular for roams...)

I expect you were too busy being a communist dictator.

Without getting into the rest of the argument, a POS status panel for noralgis plants is a nice idea.

Good luck ^^

Just finished listening, really enjoyed that episode guys, nice work. Actually listening to it changed my opinions about a couple of things smile

I wouldn't have said TMA is the main trade hub. For buying items it's ISC alpha. However I think ore might be traded more at TMA then at ISC and this would come from Norhoop where people mine for personal profit (which happens less on Domhalarn and Hokkagaros).

If EP resets are truely about clearing up extension mistakes, then the reset should be about removing applied EP, not about resetting an account.

The way you "Reset" EP at the moment is very asinine and far from perfect. A system where you could reset EP without having to reset your characters would be excellent.

Agreed, and I would be happy with a once-per-year reset as well, although I don't mind the way it is currently.

Having said that, I would never take the 20% loss, so basically all I get is one free respec on my accounts which I do not plan to use because I'm happy with how they are.

Ah thanks. I didn't noticed that change.

I think none of us noticed it except miners because you can still get all minerals (aside from epriton) in places you have easy access to.

I like your ammo idea but haven't been involved enough in production to know what all the implications would be.

The comic is also awesome big_smile

So just to sum up to any devs reading this:

Please distribute mid-level minerals to create supply/demand across different parts of the world. Note: this must be done between beta islands so that it can be under player control not Syndicate.

The current titan ore change won't make any difference to the current or future levels of self sufficiency demonstrated by corps.

Perhaps we should now discuss what minerals could be differently distributed and where. Should this be implemented with new minerals or should the current ones be changed and if so, how?

Yes. I have never *** up my accounts to the extent that a 20% penalty would be worth it. I mean, to be willing lose that EP you would really have to have made a mess of it.

I said this on the blog already, but all it will do is encourage beta corps to operate on alpha.

M2S has bought a lot of ores on alpha previously. I bet Domhalarn are doing that now. The Norhoop Alliance operate on both alpha and beta so how this would make any difference apart from shifting more miners to alpha, I don't know.

In order to stimulate mineral trade and prevent corps being self sufficient they need to put different ores on different beta islands, or at least change the distribution a bit more severely to stimulate trade, or more reasons to hold territory.

if i could have a trial account that can collect EP for weeks, but the trial length is capped by played time...

Ah good point. The trial would also have to run out after two weeks, then.

The icon could be the icon of the module/effect used.

But if you have two remote sensor boosters or three ECMs, how do you know which one is being used on which target? Ideally it has to show that information too.

We took into consideration, that people may go away on a business trip, holiday, have to hand in a paper or spend some quality family time. This way there is no time pressure to play around with it.

Can you make it based on hours logged into the game instead? So it expires after 18 or 24 hrs of playing time or whatever.

It's a case of managing expectations...people are continually expressing disappointment with the trial both here and in the help channel because they expect there to be two weeks of trial content. There isn't, so they feel cheated.

I think the easiest way to do this would be to have it showing on the target list as a module number.

So if I have Arga targeted and I'm using an ECM on you a little icon should appear next to your name saying "H2" because I'm using the second head slot on you. If I'm also remote sensor boosting a squad mate the icon next to his name on the target list should be "M1" for miscellaneous slot 1 (or maybe "C1" for chassis 1).

If that's possible to code into the UI.

You could add this to the landmarks list as well but I don't see the point because it just duplicates what's in the targeting window.

This should be done for all ewar also (demobs, ECMs, suppressors), and it should also be clear which module is being applied to which target/squad member.

At the very least the target list should be in the order the targets were chosen, from earliest to latest and should not re-sort it self based on distance.

DEV Calvin wrote:

If we lighten the restrictions, we have to allocate resources to constantly monitor and handle violators. We simply can't afford this cat and mouse game at the moment.

In that case, I think the length of the trial is inconsistent with the progression the player can make. Most trial players seem to be completing the content available in a couple of days, and then feeling short changed.

At the moment the trial is only there to give players a very basic idea of how the game feels (the UI, how the basic mechanics work, what buttons to press to do what) but does not include access to any real content. So you don't need two weeks for it.

I think the artifacts or data consoles actually need to have information in them, not just items. Scraps of background information that players can collect and put together to build a clearer picture of the NPC corps or Nians or whatever.

Where is the real Siddy and what did you do with him?

What if your Portal 2 copy arrives at the exact same time the patch is out?
