It's Goon teminology... You wouldn't get it.

+1

I mean, are there still PvE farmers that don't use field containers?

It says, "ask questions from developers".

When will it say, "ask questions FOR developers"?

Thank you.

I partook in a duel of honor the other night. My bot got popped accidentally. That's ok with me, because Nia is a dangerous place, and crud happens. Also, players have to make their own rules for duels, which makes it a true sandbox.

Sorry, I can't support hard-coded duelling rules.

I still don't know what a blob is... that needs some defining in another thread.

People are annoyed because you put time and preparation into smashing someone's bot and looting what you can, but people can still rob you of that reward.

I understand why people still want the destroy option. I also use this to get rid of crap I don't want in a limited cargo hold. However, to have more rewarding PvP mechanics I would rather people not be able to destroy their stuff a few seconds before they are engaged in combat.

One idea I did like was creating some sort of module that could be used to destroy the cargo. I kind of like that idea. I would just hope that the module is fairly expensive and uses rare mats. That would make these carebears happy and make them feel like they're playing some sort of candyland MMO, and it would also make the sequers more valuable when they get popped, which would make me feel better when I pop one.

Lol. As much as I like the idea of flinging newbs out onto the beta islands unexpectedly or against their will, I don't think the reward you suggested would end well for most.

You almost ganked a Termis last night

Key word being 'almost'. There were several Termis that could have been ganked last night. Two of them were legitimately protected (4 or 5 combat bots vs. a solo cameleon). One Termis was mining ridiculously close to the outpost and could just zap to safety no matter how many times we caught him with his pants down. Which was several times. Termis with no pants should be dead.

It's a simple idea, really. If you want to mine with a Termis on beta islands, then there should be no way to be 100% safe (without a proper escort).

Yes. Excessive whining from this one...

Mr. River, why don't you just delete your cargo in the usually extended period of time it takes for us to get from 1000m to optimal weapon range or demob range? This should not be allowed either, IMO, but you have that opportunity.

I abuse the safe zone mechanics a lot on the beta islands, but I still don't like them. It's the most frustrating when you go through the trouble to organize ~20 people into a squad, head out to an opposing beta island and gank nothing except arkhes for a couple of hours.

Beta islands should be more unsafe. I like the timer ideas here (either one will do).

There's no silver platter involved. It's more like we're getting ripped-off less when we risk our bots on beta. I've lost several bots and modules on the beta islands, and all I'm asking for in return is the chance to actually get some loot off of a lucky kill.

And by lucky, I mean managing to catch somebody in between two safe zones that are ridiculously close together, or before the bastard can dock up in an outpost after being spotted from 1000 meters out.

Don't worry, the beta islands still seem to favor the weak.

Neoxx is my hero!

It's true. If the opposition could see how many bots we have undocked on our island on a daily basis they would probably *** themselves.

There's not enough *** pvp on these *** pvp islands.

Obviously instancing isn't going to happen in this game, and I'm glad it won't.

As long as the servers allow large blobs to form I hope they continue. I only speak for myself, but eventually these large blobs will break into smaller blobs on their own.

Fix free arkhes, increase population of the game, and force/incentivize people out to the beta islands and I think the pvp in this game will be OK.

It would be nice if I'm equipping a small squad to go pvping, which happens to take, you know, half an hour sometimes, whether or not there are people undocked on the island I'm on. If there are between zero and three people undocked on the whole island then you could know it's kind of a waste of your time.

Maybe it's just because this game is still quite young, but nevertheless if I'm going to put myself and my corp/alliance mates through 2 or 3 hours of roaming, I would rather have some idea ahead of time whether or not we're going to find anything to pew pew, or get pew pewed by, or just waste 2 hours finding nothing.

Context is important in deciding these sorts of things...

ie. Wtf happened? Who is Riz? What was he trolling? What was the subject of said post that got moderated?

If it gets more people into the pvp, and away from carebearism, then I vote yes.

Maybe make the intrusion times rotate by 12 or 10 hours or something? So if you get an intrusion event on an outpost you own that is at say 6:30am, you can use a protection, but then the next one is going to be around 6:30pm?

There must be a better system that combines protections and/or time blocks. A balance between flexibility for the defenders, but inflexibility so that eventually corps are forced into a defense.

Or, how about we all quit our jobs and rearrange our sleep schedules? Last corp that can still pay subs wins...

I'm surprised there's no thread in this forum about this so far, so I'll get the ball rolling I suppose. Let me know if it's in another forum somewhere, and I'll piss off.

Arkhes for free when you die are really annoying on the beta islands. Some feel the arkhes are overpowered for what they are worth, and I could possibly agree with that, but ultimately I think the problem is the endless spawning of free scouts that one character can get in enemy territory.

Maybe you get a free Arkhe when you die, but you have to spawn on the Alpha islands? Maybe the Arkhe isn't free when you die? You need to pay 40 or 50k?

Maybe Arkhes need 15 hp instead of the close to 1k they have now? Weapon mod nerf? Speed nerf? (I'm opposed to a speed nerf, but I know some people are in favor of this)

Nerf the cargo space so they can't cap outpost objectives?

WHAT'S THE SOLUTION? Something must be done...

Thumbs up to this idea from me, and more generally to anything that makes the markets more interesting/risky.
