Topic: Devs Completely Cave to PVPers

we now have "special" rules for the big bad crybaby PVPers just to
ensure they get their loot handed to them on a silver platter

i can make ajustments to my cargo whenever i want normally but by some
"miracle" once i'm attacked that ability vaporizes
what's next, purple flying unicorns?
elves?
rats carrying swords as loot?

instead of the "magical" inability to delete cargo once attacked why
shouldn't the attackers have to use a slot for equipment that prevents
the destruction of cargo?
because our big bad carebear PVPers would cry some more?
nice

Re: Devs Completely Cave to PVPers

This game is a joke now. its pathetic in that it can't decide if it wants to be casual or hardcore it seems paralyzed in fear of both losing the early access crowd and not gaining enough subs. asked devs in game when i messed up my char what i could do 3 weeks ago was told no free respeccs ever get new account... you want them to care post on a forum that potential customers frequent like mmorpg.com. The devs are making Tasos Flambouras look like a genius... yes in b4 troll close etc

I wouldn't call the 50% chance for loot to drop during pvp a silver platter.

It has been a common practice to not allow players to delete loot when being attacked in many games.

Nothing new here really.

QFT. OP: name a full loot pvp game that enables players to instantly delete their cargo when they get threatened with pvp.

Re: Devs Completely Cave to PVPers

We did not ask for the change. In fact I hate the change as it doesn't work.

The idea that was put forth is what when loot is deleted you have 5 minutes in which if you die the deleted items are included in drop chance.

The current situations means that if you delete all your cargo before you get caught you still have a small chance of getting away and losing all your cargo.

1) You get seem 1000m away
2) Delete all cargo
3) Honour tank!

Re: Devs Completely Cave to PVPers

*sigh*

Well, not what I wanted, maybe I can make a better arguement on the next item.

I do hope the devs actually read thier own forums and not just 3rd party ones like MMORPG.

the question here is:

" If you wanted to play WoW, why the F**K are you here? "

If you paid attention to these forums yourself you would realise that the devs do read their own forums.

I was alluding to the fact that this issue was discussed by Dev's on a 3rd party site. I was being a little trolly, yeah, but I think I took the 'loss' of the argument fairly well in general.

Ah sorry, I didn't realise.

Re: Devs Completely Cave to PVPers

There is a 2k viewed thread all about it on this site.....it's what instigated it, not mmorpg.

Its in the "Balance" section.

let's see - in the vernacular
learn to read noob

there doesn't seem to be an issue with the silver platter business but either make it impossible to delete from cargo where ever you are so that "special" rules don't have to be made for the PVP babies

or at least have a piece of equipment that creates the condition of not being able to delete your cargo - instead of the "magical" condition created by the crying of the aforementioned "babies"

Devs took the easy way out i'd say

There's no silver platter involved. It's more like we're getting ripped-off less when we risk our bots on beta. I've lost several bots and modules on the beta islands, and all I'm asking for in return is the chance to actually get some loot off of a lucky kill.

And by lucky, I mean managing to catch somebody in between two safe zones that are ridiculously close together, or before the bastard can dock up in an outpost after being spotted from 1000 meters out.

Don't worry, the beta islands still seem to favor the weak.

Re: Devs Completely Cave to PVPers

ok
half a silver platter as equipment isn't enough loot for you

of course you are ignoring the whole "special" rule thing

how about a tit for tat since you PVPers have been given a golden goose by god (Devs) how about us PVEers get one too

lets see, how about when we are in a mining bot, now mining bots only, mobs can target you but they can't hit so you can basically mine on top of them
that seems fair doesn't it?
no extra equipment required, just a "special" rule
just like the magical inability to delete from cargo

Re: Devs Completely Cave to PVPers

All I read was whine whine whine from the op.

You want it all your own way, I'd have preferred the target to have to fit a self destruct device or something to be able to destroy cargo

I agree the new system isn't great but it's a start

Re: Devs Completely Cave to PVPers

Yes. Excessive whining from this one...

Mr. River, why don't you just delete your cargo in the usually extended period of time it takes for us to get from 1000m to optimal weapon range or demob range? This should not be allowed either, IMO, but you have that opportunity.

Ever played EVE? Ever played Darkfall? You couldn't just delete your equipment/cargo if you were going to die. Take your loss and accept the fact that you were outsmarted. It's common place in the "hardcore" MMO's for the reward of PvP to get your opponents loot. I don't see why you're so butt hurt over this. Don't get killed in the first place.

Secondly, your suggestion is stupid. So you want to be able to mine on the Beta islands for example with hostile mechs just ignoring you? Yeah because that completely removes risk v. reward out of the equation lol.

Seems like YOU want everything on a golden platter. And now that something that was in your favor, now is in no ones favor but the victor and you're angry about it. Get over it.

That's actually a pretty cool solution Jelan big_smile. Lots of cool things could be done with self-destruct devices.

Does the combat flag go on when you are locked?

Plenty of bots out there moving 100kps+ with 500M + lock range. Gives the pilot about 5 seconds to see you, realize you are going to catch them, and execute a delete. Last night it felt like only a second from when I saw you enter the landmark window til you have me locked, but was probably more like 4. I don't think deleting cargo this way will be an issue.

Recall I was for removing the delete ability, I just didn't think it should be ONLY during combat. Either you can or can't delete cargo. I'm disappointed they chose to fix the delete issue with a special rule.

"PVE"
that means alpha to most - although i certainly like your idea of mining on beta risk free
and yes it is just a ridiculous suggestion just like the whining PVPers provided which was bought hook line and sinker by the developers
special rules for "special" people i guess
learn to actually read instead of skim if you are going to reply at all

your "outsmart" somment was hilarious

and yes, i did play EVE - i could jetison my cargo as i was warping from moon to moon or waypoint to waypoint during my hoped for escape

anyway, i'm sure these special rules for beta will continue
Perpetuum rating is now zero

Combat flag isn't until you have a hostile action initiated, locking doesn't flag you. Means you have plenty of time to delete the cargo. Already seen it happen today. sad
