Double click on ground will not use the path mechanic at all. You have to use the shift click on the radar.

That's not true; they both use the same mechanic. Where it's different is that the pathfinding will not kick in if you try to approach a player or object (instead it will just go straight at it) - but I honestly didn't even realize that until the Jim Sterling video (thx Jim!) and am fixing it now.

Is this before or after pressing OK/Apply?

I pushed out an update that SHOULD fix it; not sure how often Steam updates though so might take a while.

Is it just "Steam Error" when you start it?

Can you do this?

Did you start Steam as admin?

It should also be considered if a certain number of down votes would then ban that ip

Mmmm, how about an OAuth2 API for the actual Perpetuum accounts? I've been planning to do some API revamping anyway, and having OAuth2 endpoints would mean we could have person-specific data routed through the API without having to worry about unauthorized access.

The current update fixes the problem - of course getting to the update is a bit of an issue still, but running as admin or reinstalling with a new installer should work.

The solution is indeed to start the client in admin mode for the time being.

The problem arose from an oversight I made during the compiler switch and I'm sorry about that - with the next patch (next week-ish) it'll be all back to normal - provided that you do the admin-mode update with that one last time.

Kaldenines wrote:

Is there a time limit before this linking offer expires?

No, but it only works with accounts that were created before the Steam launch.

Kaldenines wrote:

Is there any potential down-side to linking your existing accounts to steam?

Well, you can't link it to another one then. Other than that, no, I can't think of any.

Kaldenines wrote:

Will there be implications for running multiple clients at the same time?

Not more than the usual, although you can't do it with Steam.

Please, again, if you have this problem and have some spare time for a debugging session, find me.

You can also click on the game in your Steam library and "Create Desktop Shortcut".

This bug annoys me as well particularly because it doesn't happen anywhere I tried before.

Unfortunately I'll be needing some hands-on testing so if you have this problem and can try to catch me on IRC and we can have a nice long steamy sensual debug session.

tsk tsk wrong thread!

(Fixed in next patch.)

PVE kills both ways or just NPC-to-player?

For those of us with limited (if any) knowledge on API, specifically Perpetuum's API...

Is the data displayed on Perp-Kill and sequer.nl delayed by result of game mechanics or as result of the individuals managing the sites?

The delay is done on our side and consequently propagates to every API client.

Note from IRC:

[22:18:29] <Jasdemi> restarted the client, it did an update. now everytime I start the game it says "update finished" and it closes
[...]
[22:19:53] <GargajCNS> does it leave a perpetuum.exereplacer.exe next to the perpetuum.exe?
[22:20:45] <Jasdemi> nope, all processes close
[22:21:00] <GargajCNS> no i mean an actual file
[22:21:14] <Jasdemi> it does
[22:21:18] <GargajCNS> hm
[22:21:24] <GargajCNS> can you try deleting that
[22:21:30] <GargajCNS> and then starting perpetuum.exe like normal
[22:21:44] <Jasdemi> works <3

I'm not 100% sure why this happens but I shall investigate.

Do you mean you installed the game into the Program Files dir on Win7?

Can you check the Windows Task Manager if there's a task stuck maybe?

You can try running the .exe as "Perpetuum.exe -hashcheck" - takes a while to boot but fixes all the inconsistency related issues.

Fixed in the next patch
