Provided:

A) they don't drop loot
B) you can switch the functionality off
C) turrets prioritize people over rats when shooting

What about the robots?

Using the same 3d models while giving them different role bonuses and names?  Like ewar assault class or ewar hmech?  Autocannon bot?

Thoughts?

Again no. From tree years of this game i want see NEW content (this mean new modules, new robots, with brand new models and images). Not recycled content.

Get this in your head. You are not going to see new robots or guns because they have noone who does art.

Given that fact retasking unused models, modules and bots is an easy way to make a game more diverse and fun. Eve manages to get close to 10 different ships out of one model. Perpetuum gets 3 only 2 of which are used that all fill the same purpose.. Think how much more fun perpetuum would be if each model had five variations filling specific roles.

its not the pit that's the issue jita its the turrets killing beacon mobs while you're trying to farm in the safety of your base

That sounds like one of those good problems to me

I love the idea if they dont drop loot that keeps any exploit from happening but i also under stand the beacon issue it would bring up. Unless turrets could tell the difference in between beacon Mobs and roaming Mobs then it is fixable

Beacon pits are not supposed to exist any more so itsno problem.

While we are on the subject of exploits, make it so guns automatically prioritise people over rats. If not folks will just set off beacons to act as chaff while attacking bases.

For sure they would need to drop no loot otherwise its very exploitable

So apparently it's pretty easy for us to enable turrets shooting NPCs, given that:
1. NPCs would also attack turrets.
2. NPCs killed by turrets wouldn't drop loot.

Opinions?

I think its a good idea. Rats wandering through basis is ***. My only issue is it enabling macros more as you can set up a couple of turrets and be a hundred percent safe from rats but since macroing is legal and there is no epi on gamma hell why not.

+1 from me.

It is looking like the assignments are the 1 year plan, unless they are planning to deploy alpha 1, 2 and beta at the same time.

They do tend to do this. They dumped tech 1 - 3 base stuff on us at once which qss silly.

What I am going to be talking about today is the alpha-beta-gamma risk/reward balance.

When it comes to ratting, the robots dont do any explosion. As such, a guy like me with a bunch of accounts can easily and reliably do 3 star mech beacon. Yes, 3 star mech beacons. As such, i make 150-200 million nic and hour. This is game breaking and needs to be fixed. A note to take: i have no t4+ and my skills arent even that high.

You will have to give me a number breakdown  on that cause the numbers seem grossly exaggerated. How much plasma, how many modules, fragments.

I do have statistics about npc farming in high end fitted bots but they never reach near 150 millions.

Otherwise many things you mentioned are correct. The thing is that this game cant be balanced around a low player count it has to be balanced around bigger numbers. The paradigma that beta is needed for gamma is not true. It takes 10 minutes at max to move a fleet from alpha to a gamma base with little chance of anyone intercepting them.

I farm with 2 t4 fit seths, a logi, a remote sensor amp bot, and a nexus. I kill 3 stripe beacons really fast. I get a bunch of plasma, but most money comes from hitech kernels. Ive been soloing those beacons like a month ago and i calculated approx. 400-500 million profit in the timespan of 3 hours

If your using 5 accounts that's more like 80 mil an hour but it's always been that absurdly powerful. Good luck getting the Devs to care.

We'll be deploying a few important fixes:

  • Rework of sending terrain layer data, which should stop plant-related lag.

  • Stop MPC turrets shooting targets that are hiding behind terrain.

  • Fix for roaming NPCs not respawning on gamma.

Can we state clearly that if for some reason this 'don't shoot behind terrain' change can be abused in a way thats not intended that would be considered an exploit and should be reported ASAP.

Not to question your coding but since I've lost two bases to a change's unintended consequence in the past it might be prudent.

If it's any consolation to you, I reported the turret shooting terrain "feature".

I don't doubt you did. I just don't think peoples hard work should be under threat because the devs don't have the manpower to test properly.

I dont know why people are so concerned about botting when the devs are not. Zoom came right out and said they can't even prove it aqnd so don't care months ago. Botting is effectively legal now.

And yes, you're wrong. I'm not going to prove anything, but I can prove that I have never used and did not use the bot. Developers can check it at any time.

Stop being a fool.

MacroingQQ. lol

. Then why not let the npcs just kill the zenith?

i think its good you stepped in and made a decision zoom but i think its something that should happen more often. If you did we would still have red mobs on alpha and explosion damage wouldn't kill cans

I have to agree. Again the rebalance could have breathed so much like in to it but it was fumbled so badly it hurts. The mission patch won't even matter, PVE is a means not an end.

Last I heard Green got smashed by a balance patch gone wrong.

Is this still the case?

There's no pvp, Gamma is still a broken mess, greens got nerfed fairly bad and the market is as dead as Whitney's daughters brain.

I would at least wait till after the mission patch.

Apparently it's not an exploit but it's still pretty dumb to use a bug rather than have a fight.

When we turned up to shoot your bases we brought a fleet with the intention of getting a fight. You choose to puss out and hide in eve. Now to make yourself feel better your using arkhes. Where are those unlimited hangers?
