re-imbursment is more about how they feel on the day than it is policy.  I've lost bots from crashes and never got reimbursed, where others get them without question.

And imho there's only one reason for that and its very little to do with the devs or content or balancing.....

Your right, its about market awareness.  Non of those you mention have much impact.

You spoil us by lavashing us with so much credit!  That a small corp which started out from scratch less than a year ago can single handedly crush the will of so many people..    I'm blushing!

The tears of the kain pilots are very tasty.

umm, I think you missed something, amirite?

Sundial wrote:

Kains are still the defacto roaming mech, don't worry!

I dont think anyone is worried,  all mechs can roam.   Noone really picks a race based on how good that races mech is at roaming and FC's will go roaming with whoever is available.

Number of pilots is still more important than the type of pilots.  But if that FC could configure his roam based on whatever the Dev's feel is flavor of the month then it certainly gives them more power.

In fact...  seing that that Dev's are so indecisive about their balancing I think its time to start cross speccing into Green as well as blue and yellow!!  lol

that maybe true for regular MMO's but the nature of a sandbox is that the content is created and provided by its players.   Without players its boring, no matter what content is created from the devs.

History shows that Perpetuum completely breaks when it has a massive influx of players, who then feel they can never be competitive with existing players, and end up leaving.

its been great while we had that big influx of players.. but I think its time to admit that 2 months later we are back were we started.

Signal detection change is very interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but it's pretty big. Should make hiding a bit easier, especially with a buff to masking.

Yea, I quite like it!... especially making the differences between tiers.

I always thought that with the huge amount of energy detecting takes that it should also temporarily increase interference, or even make you more detectable.

Prove they're not balanced and then we'll talk. Right now your evidence is missing.

I dont need to prove a thing, normally with a persistant MMO, balancing is a very delicate operation with slow incremental changes over long periods of time.

They havnt changed since release.. now in the space of a few weeks EM guns and Blue in general have had drastic nerfs with yellow having dramatic buffs.

Im not saying they are not balanced, im just saying that I get the impression that the sudden change feels very.. emotional.

From todays update;

http://www.perpetuum-online.com/Changelog:2011-09-01

Change: Increased the optimal range of medium ballistic missiles.
Change: Increased the optimal range of medium HCL lasers.

Were medium EM guns really that powerful ?

I'm just really happy I cross specced into yellow big_smile

I think the OP is pointing out that word of mouth is actually the worst form of advertising, at the very least, its inadequate.

lol, "text THE Ictus pilot"

Yea there is a bit of a lul in on-line players at the moment,  think were all waiting for some big changes on the pvp front. (as per blog: Intrustion 2.0)

so plenty of time to get yourself up to speed smile

who's idea was it?... hmm, dunno, but smells like an awesome Dev mancs moment.

I guess the intrusion 2.0 will deal with the alt spy at outpost thing.

But making everyone completly immune on the internals just sounds to me like the dev's havnt thought it through properly and didnt realise this effect.

Not that any of it really matters, with so few people playing now and with my standings grinding being wiped I dont think there is much motivation to play atm.

Still fine your fitt Lemon, but not OP, you can handle 1-2 guy, not 3-4 thats the changes.

With armor tuners now being heaver AND less effective its had a double nerf.

With weapon tuners being reduced in weight AND given crit chance its had a double boost.   So there is never any reason for the old lemon fit...  in fact, there is never any reason to tank at all now, in anything.

Even the Kains bonus to armor repping means nothing,  since everyone now has a much higher DPS capability.

The game is now about who can shoot first... so the Artemis, with it already having a crit bonus can now fit loads of weapon tuners, crit nexus, you get between 30 / 40% crit chance..

so either you fit the old lemon, and get destroyed because everyone has huge crit, and you cant rep anymore or you yourself fit for pure dps and hope to hit them first.

I dont know where people get their information from, since when has it been "well known" that a nerf to frames weight reduction was incoming?

Making guns heavier has significantly more impact on the speed.

I dont get it, but it makes me mad!

hmm, so we're getting a blog in the next few days when we were expecting a patch.

Mr Pessimistic is Pessimistic

Less blogs more patch notes wink

yea, not even a word on the new 'elite ai' spawns and that was expected so long ago that I think people have forgotton about them now.

So much is expected imminently that I can only assume they are planning another "suprise patch" where they've crammed everything in and then have to spend the next month trying to figure out what they've broken again.

Sunday night, primetime of the week it made it to 450+, thats not anywhere near a 100.
The quietest time this day it was still above 150.

I never said that there WERE only 100, I said that with current "Trends" it would go that way.

But since your so ignorant you probably also missed the point about half of them being non-combatants.

And what of multiple accounts?.. I dare say that for the majority of a 7 day week, and not a few hours on one day of that week, 100 available pvp players is actually pretty optimistic.

Even on an island that has the most active pvp 'content' were mostly sitting around doing nothing.

I agree that there needs to be something in place for intrusion 2.0, but, specifically for that mechanic!

I dont agree that we need alliances features with such an ever shrinking player base.

Kudos to the OP for a well thought out system.  Maybe Dev's could book mark it for a future time when/if the PCU is above 1000.

lol,  Hungarian maths for you.

I kinda agree... and just saying "omg read the blog" isn't a good enough argument since nothing in those blogs really reveals that much more content.   revamp to alpha island missions.. yea, great. roll

Apart from the indication of player built structures at the end of the year, which is really what weve all been dreaming about since release.

PvP is indeed content in itself, but guess what? pvp needs players.. and with recent trends there will be less that 100 players on line at anyone time, even then half of them are non-combatants.

ironic that the biggest content update to Perpetuum has come from CCP in the form of players lol

LoS Stuff;
completely agree with all that, there must be code already existing and being used to determine LoS, it makes no sense at all why there is no indicator.  From a lore perspective and from a technical perspective.   I guess its just low priority.

if this is what it takes for the DEVs to fix the current design then its worth the effort

I agree..

A sad truth is that sometimes devs will only fix something when its absolutely necessary.

Its like, you have to prove to them you can break something before they will fix it.  and hopefully in the process improve it.

Not sure this would be against the EULA though,  I think you'd have a pretty tough job convincing EVERYONE to make an alt just for that.
