I believe the point Neoxx is trying to make is that the cost to value ratio is really screwed up.

Example, a light bot compared to an assault.

(Based on older prices, but the ratio is still correct)

Light bot value = 800k NIC
Assault bot value = 1.2 mil NIC

Does this seem a fair cost ratio? I'd say yes.

Now, let's compare the problem bots.

Assault bot value = 1.2 mil
Mech = 7mil

Does that even seem close? God no, the mech would be valued at around 2-3mil if it were to be balanced and that's a generous value at that.

Even when you compare mech to heavy mech the values add up in the difference. The issue is that the cost/value ratio is scewed to hell and back when you compare assaults to mechs. The guys in the assaults are damn effective against the group of mechs, and they are risking nearly 1/7 as much. Will the mechs win in a even engagement? Yes, most likely, but they really lose when you add up the mechs that were lost in terms of NIC.

TLDR

It's stupid the way it is, and either medium weapons need overall lower dispersion (I don't recommend it as it screws with ewar/light balance) Or more intelligently, raise assaults surface size to 5m. Done, problem solved, crisis averted, game better balanced, damsel saved, dragon slain, happily ever after achived. Wait, what was I talking about again?

Yes we had some T3-T4 equipment, so did the enemy. (We looted them) So that's invalid.

EA enhanced skills? Seriously? Your suggesting out of their 120 man blob that they didn't have 30 EA players? As that's how many we had in the fight. Your either desperately trying to defend them, or are a complete idiot, or both.

Numbers were estimated at 120 vs 45. It may be as much as +10/-10 from the 120 estimated, but no more or less.

Something that I noticed some time ago, is when you have a gang of 10+ guys, it can be hard to keep tabs on the squad leader's location without locking him. (And I really don't recommend doing that.) What I propose is a floating icon/image above the squad leader's head, so that he is easily visible to squadmates.

It's a simple (Somewhere Alf is reading this and growls) feature, that would aid a great deal in squads.

It's the game's background as to why there isn't any naval warfare. However I am "totally" for this idea, I know we would be foaming at the mouth for a chance to catch the entire mining parties (Not just the ones not watching intel chat) on the other beta islands. Biggest we caught was a 8 termis, 3 argano and 2 sequer group. But we missed a lot of them due to the teleport scouts. A way around this would be quite fun.

I personally like the idea, in the sense that kernels are one hell of a NIC faucet, and you can make many many millions of NIC in a very short time frame farming them. However if you take them out that leaves only 1 source of NIC. Missions, and we "all" HATE missions.

So I would actually suggest radically lowering the value of kernels.

No sir, that is laughably wrong. RPGs are of very little threat to a M1A2 unless they hit the treads.

I predict,

1. They add some form of anti-blob mechanic within the next month or so. The change causes people to form smaller groups that work together independently to achieve a goal with tactics and military level intelligence. This promptly causes a mass exodus of 90% of all players from the beta islands, once players figure out how badly they suck at pvp without their entire force standing on the same tile and attacking with 2x the numbers of the opposing force.

(I was really tempted to do a old fashioned Conan O' Brian "In the year 2000" style prediction, but I've been up for 18 hours. Perhaps later.)

Awsome, I was just about to let the dreadnought account lapse because I found I have zero need for a pure combat character when I always use RR in combat. Now I can make him a command bot or something.
