Im almost sure its already modeled, textures done, bot caracteristics written somewhere (i think the anim job is not the hardest with this bot). Thank the damn multitile engine limitation that we dont have it ingame now hmm

Yeah i agree about the business part.  But dont forget that they are trying to do something different, and lets be honest, if all the "sandox" mmos of today are failures, we wont have what we WANT to play for the next ten years.

But your right better ask and say that your unhappy with something, than just leave. At least you show dedication to the project.  IMO they are trying to "unify" seeral gameplay types that we players love, all that in a persistent world, and it is FOR SURE very hard. But if it works, the next generation of players will enjoy even further complexity of gamedesigns and player interactions.

Thats why i say "be cool on the dev team", even if we are customers, they are making something hard, would they just want to make money it would be a F2P korean style mmo. ***.  What i dont want is the whole playerbase to sharpen the pitchforks, then one day they say "Ok you won guys we surrender and close the server"...

Potential + Time + Good feedback =  sandbox?

- resources should not be available in concentrated areas.  In rl, you don't find gold next to aluminium and on the same plane as coal.  Every island should have a critical resource that others need.

Something like this is a bit too much and not very balanced/tought out, but you got the point.

Imagine how much it would "dynamize" the market/professions/circulation of ressources and NIC.  And PVP. Cause with that, you not just kill some miner to disable ennemies produciton capacity.  You try to CONQUER land. You try to get the ore, because you can sell it much money if your the only producer. That make everyone angry against you, and coalitions are created just to stop the "specific ressource" lockdown. INCENTIVES to PVP. More than KB epeen and taunt in GC...  Maybe that would make the game enjoyable for more peoples. Or not tongue

As you can see i even made a mini map thingy to show what you think your the first to come with. Its being monthes that we talk about ressources localisation... But you certainly know better, and your ideas are always fresh..

To finish, i never attack someone just for the fun, and its never personnal (except Jelan but he love this so much lol).  I attacked you because you said the devs were somehow incompetents. Wich is false. I said you can make those statements when you do better, wich will never happen for sure.

I attacked Mara and some other because they spoke about a part of the playerbase in a degrading way. No player is a "prey", its a target. No player is a "predator", he just like to pvp and find defenseless miners. All in all i said those peoples should really look at what they write cause sometime its pathetic really, and when i read this i cant stop thinking of the image of cartman in southpark when they play WoW....

Why not, when introducing gamma islands, introducing same type of islands, but without pvp and without player terraforming/PBS, only NPC ones?

Obviously, devs would have to develop the idea some of us had to permit NPBS and even NPC terraforming routines.  Now you got very interesting pve content in the way that each npc base is new and different, and that devs can adjust npc base/construction rate/spawn etc.. to the population and pve demand.  Pve is soooo boring in this game, even with good IA, the IA alone does nothing except more challenge, more bugs and more time to farm.

So who is for "epsilon" or whatever islands, where npcs roam freely, find spots to build their bases, terraform, construct, even mine stuff. With challenge. With good incentive (loot) to destroy a full settlement. Without PVP. Lorewise its credible. And i dont think its sooo much work on the IA side. That would attract many many new/old gamers back to the game.

Dont it surprise you that in this mmo, and its almost the only one where PVE "HL" or endgame whatever you call it, you can make it at 2 or 3 skilled players no more.  Sup obs? A vaga mk2 and a good dps and its done....

WHERE are the threat that need 20+ players to kill?  I dont think of big mobs, i think of big bases. PBS can easily become NPBS...

Lol Mark Zima , your speaking of the sandbox you WOULD LIKE to play. But not any of that sort exist already. I think of MO for example = griefer land. And many others are the same.

Im not talking of what we would like to see or what SHOULD happen if everyone played mature, im talking of what is happening now and there. No responsibility when no consequence, only freedom, to push the limits that is.

Its exactly the same with walls.  Some said "it was obvious that would be nerfed, you are dumb to push the limits"....  think twice now. Who is responsible? The guy who play by the rules and make something bad because the rule is poorly designed, or the rule designer?

Your ironical style just unsuccesfully try to hide the fact that you cannot contradict me with any valid argument. Its not the player job to know when to stop hitting, its the referee, in that case the devteam, that need to prevent what you call "griefing". I dont come from FOOM, but what is sure is that you dont know more than me what your talking about.

  Any action made by a player, or a group of players, within the ruleset edicted by the developers, is the responsibilty of said developer. If those actions end up with bad game experience or peoples leaving the game, not any of the acting player can be considered responsible of that. Only the peoples that dictate the rules. Try to contradict that...

Mara what you say is nonsense. When engaged in a confrontation against other players, whatever the game is, you dont have to refrain from pushing the foe to its limits.

Its the game that need to create mechanisms to protect the loser from losing too much, not the attacker. Think of it when boxing, its the referee that stop the match before one take too much in the face. You cant expect the guy that took 20 punch in the nose to refrain from hitting the other one when he sees hes not lucid anymore. Its quite the contrary in fact, he start to give all what he got in reserve "to finish him"...

You may say "its just a game". Sure it is. Peoples want to win. Small pvp engagements; large scale battles; etc...
Understand what you want with "etc..." but you got the point.

Fair play is respect of the opponent, play by the rules, and accept defeat.....  certainly not refrain from pushing when you see the opponent is weakened.

PS: when your pirates where destroying all the ressources of small players not in powerful blocks, you didnt fear to make them ragequit. It would make you laugh in fact. So stop your mind spinning bullshit thx.

i was having a (certainly poor) idea how to balance a bit walls and probes. That would prevent gretly wall spamming, and would restore pvp:

Add a pvp tag to OPs. When a walls segment is destroyed, the OP in the same area forbid the docking in, only docking out is possible during a set timer. That would need some other rules, like making field can available for anyone passed 10mn of inactivity or something like that. No more easy epriton mining then....
But it certainly could be abused to grief...  anyhow i feel like there something to work on this way.

Khader you should consider making the assault AND mech tournament at the same time to attract max of peoples, cause everyone is skilled in basic OR advanced rob. That way everyone can be interested. In the same way, i think option 1 is the best, cause it force players without material limits to play on a even ground with poor ones, that could be attracted that way.

If the goal of this is attract max of peoples, do both in the same event with option 1 imo.

Yeah while your at it, if making mesmer accu stable, gimme twice or three time more dps with my gropho.... 

Do you guys realize if devs heard you on those nerf this boost that threads, every bot would be the same? You want accu stable?  Gropho is this way>>>    Now if you like more your over the top alpha strike, just stay with your bot and stfu

I did it pretty well in a mesmer not mk2 and no max extensions.  Its called micromanagement, kiting...otherwise.. playing good?

Lets recap the wish of the OP:

-kill the fastest possible (mesmer dps) for max profit
-tank the spawn (so no kiting just easymode pve)
-do it neverendlessly (not a second wasted to regen while pveing)

Raw material trade inhibition happens only when every material is dispatched evenly trough the whole world.

Make some ressource localisation and you have both long range haul/trade AND pvp incentives.

Having to go trough several islands to access a specific island would also improve the feeling of "big world" that we really dont have actually.
