Alexadar: that's not a bug, that's a feature smile To be able to hide from already launched missiles the server would need to constantly calculate line of sight for every missile while they are mid-air. That would be a lot of calculations.

maybe just one or two more calculations shortly before they hit will be sufficient. most of the time the obstacles are right in front of the bots and not in the middle of the sky. usually thats the way cover is used like. might not work for all cases, but roughly guessed 99,5% of them.

when you rename your char and post on the forums you still post under your old name.

my guess is that the forum account is not linked to the game account and that this is not changed automaticly.

oh guys, you should know better.

there are plenty of other games out there with similar things.

just think of whats possible if you havent bought an expantion:
- new islands that you dont have access to
- new bots / equip that you can not use
- new missions that only show for you if oyu have the extention
- aso...

so its totaly possible that you have your lifetime account, but if you want the new content then you have to pay again.
not saying that i would like it or think it would be good in a sandbox envioment. even more because im still paying for my boosters on all accounts (what is basicly the same as paying the sub). but its defenetly doable. your account is lifetime as it is. does not nessessary mean that you get the new stuff for free anymore as you were used to in the subscription model.

i think the "blood spark" is a feature that was never intened to be that way. might be the reason why you cant change your homebase from distance anymore.

so my guess would be "working as intended". use a light bot. should not be that far from the your suggested 100k. and everybody should be able to use a light bot.

so might be your new business opportunity. sell light bots at all termainls for all the thousands of players that need a blood spark.

na. i have blown ub enough beacons for the next few months

oh zoom, you ruined my greatest invention that perp has ever seen: the beacon pit.

+attachable extras.

for example. lights, wings,  spikes .. ... ... in various sizes...

the list could go on.

but if you want a cool pimp system then it should be like this:

for each bot part there will be multible models.

for example head, torso and legs as most simple.
but could also be made more detailed as arm parts and upper leg, lower leg and foot. the detail grade can be tuned as far as wanted. depending primary on how much development time you want to invest.
then you could also add different models for the weapons that would be used for that blueprint.

and of cource not to forget different textures for each of the parts. maybe some logos as well that you can attach.including your corp logo.

for the implementation:
you will have a ingame bot designer window. in here you can play around with all that different looking parts, textures and colors. once you are done you can save that blueprint at a cost (Perpetuum credits). when you are in the fitting screen you can then select one of your variants from a dropdown menu. selectiting a variant will cost nothing (has already been payed) but you have to pay for more variants or for changes in the one.

of cource there have to be corp blueprints as well (of cource more expensive as for a single player). obviously thats only avalible for the corp. corp editor might only be avalible for ceo/coceo. every corp member can use the corp blueprints as long as he is a member.
the costs PC will have to be provided by the player that makes it, or there has to be a corp account where players can donate PCs just like players can donate RP atm. both options are viable.

if you do it, do it right...

as long as it will be no april joke.

hopefully thats the reason they cose the 2nd of april insted of the first.

in theory nice. and the devs need income. but its again game features vs money makers.

pimp version takes modelers and artists.
they can make a pinped version or they can make a new bot. so the choice between new contet tha will hold players vs pimp that brings no better gameplay but brings money.

ok you can argue: more money allows you to employ more modelers and more artists ... ... but the question if its worth it. has to bring more then just a few thousand bucks to make up to it.
but with the new payment model we surely will see some pimp options.

just make it free first time, 10% second, 20% third etc

the problem isn't resetting but the ability to change to fotm

well you allow it once and a big number of the vets will have exactly. that. and you cant get rid of it once you had it allowed once. dmg done. removing the feature afterward will not fix the initial dmg. and that can be quite substantial. just imagine a big shield tanked spider transfering green fleet. i doubt its breakable with what a mixed fleet can bring atm.
chaos showed this power successfully at the tournament, and if bigger groups do it this will get out of hand very fast.

DEV Zoom wrote:

Concerning EP reset and downgrades:

What do you guys think about a 30% loss of EP when doing a reset or a downgrade? (Ie. You get 30% less EP back.)

well noone realy will use that. especially no vet. for a newer player with not much ep this might be only a loss of a few days but for a vet it will be months. no way anyone with a bit brain will use that.
so thats the point where i could say. ep resets are realy bad, but if noone uses them then its ok. well then we dont need it in the first place.

downgrade and reset option for the first 30 days of your account, maybe even 60 days. but after that its a no go.
vets should know what they do with their ep. and for anything else they get ep each day. with a booster even faster.

we have a surge in new account regstartion on this day. while we had 3-6 new account registartions per day for a very long period of time. yesterday it went up a bit, but today it spiked to ~220. the intresting thing will be if it keeps up.

the trick at FTP is to get a lot ppl into a game. they can play for no costs.

if you have a game with a lot ppl it attracts enough ppl that are willing to pay for stupid things. like purple hats and a pink robot.

the downside is that the payment model needs purple hats and pink robots because without them these ppl will not spend money. so the developers are forced to invest a lot development time in purple hats and pink robots instead of developing intresting content that might bring the game forward. thats why i dont like FTP. but i guess most have to go that way nowadays.
