not sure if this has been said b4 but. why not remove internal TPs from beta & place more HWYs on beta islands. this could slow down travel times across the islands to a certain extent & add more tactics to the game?

On the flip side allowing the players to build the HWY network could be a handy trade off.

i know not much info but was just a thought ide throw out smile

the B stands for build the rest stands for player and structures ... the O stands for owned... so you could refer to the existing outposts as POS... thats why i prefer the B.

yes PBS would be the best as that allows US the players to build what we want where we want. Im very happy to wait longer for this kinda thing to be put into the game over just more pre built "stuff"

ive looked for times & all that cant see any thing other than the start & end times / dates. Even so im going to bet the torny times will suck *** for us aussies & will run into Tuesday evening our time... not the best but not the end of the world.

Tho i know im probably not going to make it due to a busy weekend sad

i am a little disapointed we arnt getting something more substantial being added to the game hmm

You CAN use the shield while doing dmgs.  With the proper extensions and enough tuners, you can go under the 5s shield cycle time. Dont change it please. You DEVS lost too much time with individual requests, i want this, i want that, this is not good, ect...  Just consider when something is REALLY OP or really useless, and i dont see anything in game corresponding to that definition.

Peoples will ALWAYS have something to whine about, because everyone want everything that fits them gameplay style.

In fact, those kind of behaviors shows a will to bend the game to ones personal taste; while the logic would be the players adapt to the rules the DEVS and their vision of the game produce.

Concentrate on POS, terraforming, content. DONT cater to the "im never happy with what i have" crowd because there will always be one. If i was to decide something on this forum i would temporarily (until big content/feature/game mechanism patch) close "feature request" and "balancing".  Its simply not the time for this. 95% of gropho users are absolutely happy (ok i created this stat out my arse but you got the point) with shield bonus. Why change it then?

I use shield and missile, i use them at the same time, and i like it. I like the way you made it. Just wanted to say that.  Because the peoples happy with something rarely or never come to forum to say it. Leaving you with a false "community taste" impression.

I have QQed several times on the forum. It was always after a big gameplay change. I didnt "created" the problem. I came to QQ for something i liked that got changed, and adapted my playstyle. What you do is even worst, due to your personal taste you want to change the game for everyone, forcing me to come here to defend my gropho with its shield bonus that is perfectly right and balanced and useful. Dont like shields? Blue and yellow will welcome you with open arms...

IMHO a well thought out post & i agree with it. The gropho works fine as is.

if you dont like it, Learn to play tongue or change mechs.

It's a step towards POS. We're building a big enough / robust enough (and in fact, simple enough) system with this one that (hopefully) brings us closer to POS, but we can't do all of it overnight.

ok then serious answer. In sand box MMOs new players will always be at the disadvantage thats a fact that will never change nor should it.

Now here is the issue. How do you wish to measure success?
If you do that s a solo player then yes this game is crazy hard!!! This game kicks you in the nuts if you stay solo. Its not impossible but its damn well not easy.
However in a player run corp a new player is alot of use. So again how do we measure success? lets look at indy & pvp.

Indy: an argano vs a rivler will lose hands down yes. But i a corp setting the argano can go mine epi to make nic. He gets advice on how to best optimize his skills to maximize his abilities. And he can join bigger mechs & what not as they go out of farming ops or W/e.

PVP: Now this is a little different. a smart :noob" in say a light bot is of some use i feel. At the very lest he can be a scout (detector bot) With a little skill over a few days he can even get in an assault bot to provide some DPS. Lets be honest a day old player will have issues no matter what. But a week or 2 old & from looking at the members on trials in my corp they have ZERO obvious issues making money & have some fun in pvp.
Also a player that is aware of his surroundings & the terrain can be far more effective than a guy with 500k EP that doesnt use the terrain to his advantage.

Infact to touch on what you said about  intrusions. in the last fight we had with CIR & friends (GF btw guys) im sure NeX had a new guy in his termis doing RR in the battle.

So it all comes down to your personal drive. Are you personally (generalization here) as a new players willing to listen to what us olderplayers have to say? if so the pain of being new to this game isnt nearly as bad as what so many see, to be thinking.

As for the market well ya. It does suck & thats an old fact. But again joining a corp helps that. No matter what corp you join be it communist run or capitalist a new player will (or should) be able to get hold of most the mods & bots they need without any issues.

I know i can say for my corp we have nothing against new players & we welcome them into the game & want to help them be that giving info out or having them join our corps.. Im sure most of the corps in game have the same point of view.

the game play style i think is fine the problem is theres not enough to do atm to keep people playing long term. allowing the player base to have more control over the enviroment & to build empires as they want, or burn them down would be far more effective in keeping people playing the game.

I don't agree. More land mass is needed to in order for players to feel safer in beta. More space will mean more areas where players can potentially ninja mine or farm kernals and most importantly more smaller corps will have a chance on creating there own home in beta, which in turn will bring more players in game.

Longer travel distances is also needed to create different markets, this can even promote the market. If beta corps need to travel too long to mine titan in alpha they might buy from the market instead of mining it themselves.

We need a larger game world.

I have to agree with you Celebro more land mass is only a good thing. Eve has shown in the past that having a large world to play in doesn't hurt the game. It only adds to it since people feel they have more space to claim as their own.
