With all your recent PvP suggestions/nerfs, basically, PvP easy mode please, and give me lots of time to run away safely?
Your PvP style isn't the only one the game allows.

And seriously, what happens when someone dies?

1) he tells his friends immediately and they may respond, immediately. And immediately usually means about 5-10 minutes later. I would 't want to imply "instantly anywhere" when it's not actually accurate.

2) unrelated enemies get killmail intel, 15 minutes after it occurs. Hardly useful for a response, even if the exact coordinates are included.

Also, in your OP your link shows a kill on Dom with a map and location on Novastrov. That misinformation will give you even more time to escape.

Btw. Not trolling, I think these are valid points in reply to your post. Respond in kind if you choose.

Edit: I see you posted at the same time, after reading, again, no 3rd party will get free intel any faster than 15 minutes after the fact, whether the co-rods are in or not. This is the way it currently is.

Some vets think walking around is fine, some don't.

You can use

lightweight frames,
velocity nexus,
numlock key,
double click on a spot on terrain,
press "w" twice quickly,
shift+right click on radar,
or even press both mouse buttons at the same time.

Not sure which of these you know about.
They will either increase your speed, make your bot run, or move you to a location.

I am personally in the camp of vets that think travel sucks.

Edit:

Well people complain there is no solo activity in this game. Ninjaing Sap loot or even taking the sap can be a highly profitable activity for even the solo new player. And seriously if you intend to own an outpost, some level of defense is required. I think most reminiscing about old battles forget what made them memorable was the number of people involved, not the mechanics that brought them together. Any intrusion system would suck when the population in this game is less than 100 logged in.

Ok. Thanks, I was thinking it may have been something other than a simple 3 months EP upon purchase.

Edit: About that blog?!?! smile

I hope you make enough cash from PO you can give up your day jobs of being hookers and selling blow.

Fingers crossed!

Well its hard to figure out the exact circumstances, but talking with 2 different people who just bought the game outright, they appeared to start with 124 600 EP, or roughly 90 days worth of EP ... Might want to look into this.

Please note, I could be wrong, talking with new players sometimes things are lost in translation. It appears one player only had a trial a few years ago and purchased the game yesterday, while another bought the game outright after the second .... both appeared to have the same amount of EP.

So, if I bought the game today, how much EP do I start with?

Also, if I started a trial, but never subbed, before April 2nd, and then purchased the game, how much EP do I start with?

So this really bad forum troll sees all the new accounts (and forum warriors) return to the game and realizes ...I can retire!

Back to playing for me smile

Also, nothing wrong with blobs, use em if you got em, same applies to armoured TPs, both allowed in game, learn to play against both.

Having your group starting a forum campaign to change something you can't handle in game? Who would do something like that?

Question:

Who uses armoured TPs?
Who blobs?
Who ganks?
Who avoids fights they don't think is in their favour?
Who runs when a fight goes south, trying to save precious pixels?

Answer: Everyone
And its fine. Most fights fall in this category. Occasionally some fights are classic, tense, and skilled. And those fights are the best and make this game awesome. I'll take all fights to have those once in awhile. Deal with the different playstyle.

Edit: other than the TP, all the things Syndic repeated that have been said I agree with

Funny I always equated Gamma terminals with EvE POS. And Null stations with Beta Outposts.

As far as Gamma and POS ... Both have structures connected, both blow up, both have full loot drop (after damage)
I don't think it should change.

Celebro there hasn't been a real gamma base wiped off the map that was actively defended.  When I mean actively I'm talking more than the one or two try hards who didn't want lose what ghosts of the past already left.

1.  Merkle brings the server to novaya.  He's defeated.
2.  TOG base rick rolled, two, three try hards.
3.  STC first base on Davis Rick rolled, little defense.
4.  Dream base rolled, 2/3 defenders by Chaos.
5.  Imediro seiged by chaos was defeated by actively defended players.
6.  Bergers defended twice.
7.  Bergers fell on third attempt and langhrum when everyone stopped playing.  One or two try hards attempted defense.
8.  Landers fell 3-4 people tried to defend it.
9.  Maoshan base fell cause no one played.
10. Bluemon attempted defense but due to lack of pvp knowledge failed miserably.
11. Xiantor had a couple try hards defend it failed.
12.  Langhrum hardly anyone defended.

All the bases fell for one reason, no one could be asked to defend them.  It is a harsh reality to think of it as all or nothing.  But Gammas favor heavily the defender.

Ville, you forgot to toggle [troll/on]

But before you do, I pretty much agree with this assessment about defended Gammas. Might question how one or two of them went down but agree with most of your assessments there as well.

This game is a numbers game and always will be. The person on top will always be the one with the most people. Hasn't changed in the 3 years I've been here, won't change in the next 3. Skill helps, and can change the course of a battle, but it won't win the overall war.

Martha is right this is just a pissing contest, you just have to read the forums to see that.

Fit a masker? Use the masking spark?

*** it. Give all new players 1 Million starting EP. God forbid they are already *** about a method designed to give AC income while allowing them to catch up to vets who generated all their EP the old fashioned way and slower.

Then we can listen to all the new players *** about not having 1.5 Million starting EP and 1 Billion Nic.

Funny, I thought one of the biggest arguments against 10 SpT was "its simple to stock a beta, one scarab into an outpost and it's supplied"

Doesn't apply here?
I think I need to produce a *** of Arganos and seed them in betas for 5x the cost.

Ok I guess Battle Summary only shows attacker side for the individual kill and victim side and his other corp members.

Still, if the summary is being up all the victims other corp members involved in that particular battle it should be able to bring all combatants involved from both sides up.

Hey Doek, did a battle summary on the Syndic kill on Hokk ... sequer.nl showed Orbz on our side while Perp-kill showed the 2 sides and all related losses correctly? Is sequer.nl battle summary the equivalent of Perp-kill related kils? I thought it was ....

As a nerf to beacon pits, sure, but what about being on a ridge higher than the NPC, with no close or easy path to you. Will the NPC teleport to you in this case? The Yellow and Green islands are full of this type of landscape. I plann to test some tonight ....

What? Who knew this?!?

Also, Zoom, I appreciate you fixing this, but wouldn't it be better to simply drop the teleporting altogether? Just doesn't seem right to have them exhibit behaviour that is not possible in game.
