And make it optional so people who feel it 'isn't necessary' can opt out for now.

You kind of tipped your hand there guys. tongue
If you can redeem EP there is no reason you can't allow global resets without deleting Avatars. At some point you might want to allow for a one time global reset on all accounts. Enough changes have been made that a spark with an intended career is no longer viable due to content changes.

I would also like to say, I'm glad I came back and revisited Perp. It is a nice little game and it's slowly shaping in to something of its own. If your position allows it to hang on I think it will one day be a true MMO.

This. The markets are a wasteland and all prices are artificial base on NIC piles with no purpose. Seeds remove it and that benefits the game. People will always find a way to destroy resources in the form of PvP. Destroying NIC requires seeds.

I don't mind having people in corp who focus mostly on PVE, grinding, and alpha content. As long as they are able to contribute in some way, I feel like they are 'worthy' members.

Piglet, what you said is really true. It is very much up to corp leaders to generate content for their members. It's practically a full time job trying to produce things to do and goals to reach. Right now perp simply doesn't have -enough to do- in game, and I'm not really sure what will fix that.

I've always considered a MMO's official forums to be a good indicator of the game's health. Honestly, if I were to judge perpetuum by its forums, I would assume that it was an old game suffering its last dying breaths. It seems like we are losing more players than we are gaining at this point, and significant content is not coming quickly enough to warrant new droves of players. I love this game, but too much falls on players to make pretend like there is enough variety in-game to actually keep people from being bored and logging in less and less.

As much as i am giving Aeon a hard time, I'm not trolling. I see PvE as vital. MK2 CTs dont come from PvE and neither do mats to build and while I have little desire to participate in the PvP aspect it is a strong aspect of the game. The thing with pvP is, its a competition. The thing with perp right now is, what are we competing for? The sake of doing it? That gets as old as PvE in time.

Its easy to assume I dont PvP because I'm a bear. The truth is, I've done so damn much of it, mostly pointless, that its no diff to me than PvE. No matter what you do in a vid game, do it too much with no purpose its all just grind.

Also I'm assuming an infestation is a pve thing? Have you given pvp a shot yet? I herd it is gud.

No, I haven't given PvP a "shot". No, I won't be. Yes, I've herd its gud too. I know better. I'm assuming the infestation question is a troll. Feel free to continue that route. 8 years of it in EVE, 75% of the pop still sits in high sec, it doesn't work but I'm sure Perp will change all that.

So why don't you just play Dragon Age or Mount and Blade Warband or SPAZ or something?

Serious question. There are a ton of games that do pve really well. Why would you play perp over them, or eve for that matter, if all you want is pve content?

Minecraft is all pve with way more crafting than perp. Why this over that?

This is a pvp game. Every one of the design choices is based around the idea that pvp is ongoing and that players want to get into it. And the pvp is really good! No ***, it's a Robo fps with persistence.

If you aren't into pvp and you want nothing to do with it, I simply don't get what you get out of the game.

My experience with our grindbears is that they won't get on ts, socialize, participate, build, mine, fight or do anything other than grind cash off rats. They might as well be AI automatons that we purchased to do stuff for our corp. Which sucks! I'm fairly abrasive on the forums but I spend all my time in game looking for ways to generate content for our members and generally taking care to find ways to keep them from getting bored. I don't get why there is this subset that wants nothing to do with it! I respect them as a fellow player (so no whining about participation) and they have every right to play the game, but I don't get it. Isn't the whole point of an mmo to hang out and do stuff with your fellow nerd?

Bah. Anyway feel free to enlighten me so that I can keep looking for ways to shake up our lotus eaters.

Because I don't recall Avatar Creations (the people who own the game?) saying Perp was all PvP.

Please do something about players now DEV's! Get the game out there ffs NOBODY knows about this game beside ex eve players.

I am gmt +1 and i ran around for 4h and got one kill and really that was the only bot i even see on 3 islands. This was my first time solo roaming and i can tell you i am not very hyped about going out spending hours on that again.
I guess its nic hunting for now waiting for the game to grow, i hope i dont have to go look for something else because the game is awesome.

As mentioned before, the turnover rate is very high at the moment. Introducing new players will just leave a sour taste in their mouth and they won't ever return.

Devs need to work on introducing new dynamic pve content NOW and maybe splurge on some marketing in the not so distant future.

I logged in tonight for the first time to find general under 100 people. All be it, I deployed, hit F4 saw the list of infestations, hit enter and logged back out. It was fun for around 3 weeks, then it became so obvious what your results would be in everything you did.

I plan to build 1000 Seth, 1000 Intakt, outfit them and decide what political affilitations I plan to support.

I used an Arkhe to run the 0 level transports to Hakkabor because even with the 5 minute timer I could get to .21 quicker by sending the Arkhe to the beach spawn with Asi Alpha set to home base. That timer never changed. The standard undock has climbed 20 or more seconds over time. You might just need to do a weekly reboot. 1 hr of downtime a week won't make or break Perp.

Untill you get in a corp and see what the fleet flavor is, this is impossible to determine. FC's will call for specific fleets just like they do in all games that require blobbing for large fleet to work.

I'm training Theo because they can switch out to multi spec ammo and work short range fights or go with thier long range. They do have the most demanding LOS specs though. Even when I think I have a flat terrain I am punching the ground. I don't know if the graphical effect for simply missing with a laser is the same as the LOS failure though. Hopefully they will add some graphics for LOS at some point in either case.

Engineering and other support skills use R&D and or Heavy Industry and are more in line with combat but the clan based robotics lines are 9X Extensions and every point in military counts when its that high an EP cost.

Honest, I don't think they matter in the end because you can't round a characters EP out based on 2 Attributes and time saved on something gets eaten else where. The paper/ Rock Scissors effect is in the EP/ Attribute system as much as it's in the clan choice. You can't really roll a "bad char". Just allocate poorly if you plan to run a single account. I wouldnt worry about it tbh.

This is very much a matter of reward baceause I still don't view anything as risk. Time consumed yes but I can either do it or I can't. There is no risk. I might have to kite my mission kills but that's about set up.

If they put 1 Kernal on the reward sheet for Level 2 and 3 respective instead of Ammo an Industrial has no use for, people might get off the damn triangle.

Since when is soloability a crime?

far as i know, new games cater to these type of players.

Have any sandbox ones you know of? I'm not invested here enough to call it loyalty yet and I refuse to blob up for PvE content that needs the repeat grind level kernals here require.

Snowman wrote:

oh god here we go again, more crying about not being able to solo.

You got it.
It's not like we need to solo. The game is booming. Thousands in General at low times. Hell, you can PUG any time, day or night. No need for a corp, though they are easy to get in to. No fear of spies and other paranoid crap.

Keep the Ewar as is. We should be ground to a stand still while grinding PvE. This is after all a PvE game.

Yay for OP'ed NPCs!
