I want a tourney w/ everyone tbh.

This isn't something we can set up on our own. We need a Dev in on it and the Dev needs to be all in. I can't sell it to them, it defeats the purpose.  I'd prefer it be a 3 phase tournament. Low EP, High EP and bring what you want, enter if you want, stay out of my EP. 6 in total. 3 for 1vs1 and 3 for 6vs6.

Selling the game on the exclusive desire to have a corp stamp on an outpost makes this a problem. There is more to Perp for new people, they just need to find it and Devs need to promote it.

Example: Add new loot to artifacting. When the patch notes come out, that is what you put in them. We added new stuff to Artifacting.
What?
Go find out.

If the Perp economy relies on Alpha kills it's already toast. Considering Gamma has been down for less than a month and Beta is already under the control of a single player faction, PvP dynamics might be a bigger issue. Of course mention anything to change that ability to overlord the entire FFA zone and the trolls come a calling to derail and snotshot. So it's really a do as I say don't do as I do debate.

This was my contribution. Feel free to bicker away on the rest. I have no investment in your political gibberish.

Lets nerf remote repairers then. And cap transfers. And dps numerical superiority. And whatever the other side fields that manages to stay out of range and not get hit. And terrain, can't have one side choosing and controlling terrain. And owning stations. And lets make it so that you can only produce a number of items despite how much you mine or how many producers you have.

And you'll still whine. Because you can't nerf other people's brains.

And your dramatic reply suggests you rely too much on EWar, much like STC relied too much on teleport beacons.

ALL NEW PvPers TAKE NOTICE: if you want to cut your teeth in PvP get in some light eWar bots and head to Kentagura. There you will find Soft Target Corp. Better hurry though as they will be packing it up and moving to Alpha very soon.

This is where Zoom sees the poli crap. Injected, not by STC but by CIR.

I'd be happy if I could get locks to match the damn modules instead of this 2:3, 3:4 and 4:5 crap.

I have an Industrial Excavator Distress beacon at Hersh. I'd trade it for Noralgis of Joke has some in Hersh to trade.

Welcome to the game.

Yesterday was a buggy day in general for moving. Directions seemed to be an issue for some reason.

ICS Alpha is reporting it as well. the newbies are revolting. Hurry Devs!

The reason this game stumbled for two years is it was allowed to become the place for disgruntled EVE players to call home.

I play Perp because it's a Sandbox, the same reason I played EVE, the same reason I played SWG, the same reason I played FF14 1.00

EVE is EVE, Perp is Perp. They are video games, they are sand box online games. They are Indi, that thing so many people say they want but never give a chance. Play or don't, don't ask me to decide for you.

It isn't just Perp.
http://www.reddit.com/r/TeraOnline/comm … ss_issues/

Still sucks but if they are the same issue, it's up to the Devs to rage.

The suck part isn't that the servers crash. That sort of thing happens but if Steam accounts accumulate, they need someone there to reset whatever is having a seizure because 6+ hrs of downtime won't work.

Same.

- Please travel for 40 minutes to some god for saken hole to find resource spawns, just to play disco duck with the servers and puke out Cans that despawn because the servers are online, you just can connect to them.

Is it a time sink?
Make everything take 2 hrs, crash the server every 90 minutes and poopsock Operations?

I think they are just f*#king with us now.

So here are the problems I see with this new risk less mining on Alpha 2's

All corps will be doing production from these islands after gamma is wiped (at least for a long while)

Not only will the miners/industrialists be doing mining on these islands but pvprs (some) will also have an afk toon they can park and gather loads of mins (remember the bowl on tellesis)

Now that most if not all mins (except the obvious ones) will be gathered on the same islands where they will be used that takes away any slowdown due to logistics.

So what right?

Prices of alpha mins will drop. This is good for people/corps who just want to buy mins but not so much for the player who wants to make some nic from mining. For the alpha only corps good luck getting good trade value towards non alpha mins. One hours haul of epi or colox will trade for 2 to 3 hours worth the alpha mins. Prices of everything will drop also cause of the discounted mineral costs (good for noobs) but it wont matter much anyways cause most corps will be producing their own items/bots. Supply>Demand

If we cant increase the risk of getting minerals on these islands then we need to increase the time it takes to get them.

You don't need to worry about this at the crux.
Alpha2 have one base, Alpha1 have 4. For smaller industrial Mech and even dual boxed Termis/ Sequer it is still more practical to mine Alpha1.

I found Titan spawns on New Virginia and Hersh after the patch and ended up mining the New Virginia spawn. The Hersh one was just too far out for me as a solo miner. A large corp with 2 or 3 Scareb haulers working with the miners would have been able to make use of the Hersh field I found. Before the orange passive though, that wouldn't even be a consideration. Someone would have lost a Scareb trying to shuttle Ore to Hersh terminal.

The real threat at this stage is the stability issue the server is seeing. If you are forever crashing, it's only a matter of time before someone loses a field can full of Ore.

If it wasn't for bad luck, this game wouldn't have any luck.

I'll check back later. GL

Stating the obvious again (squatted and delivered more pearls):

There should be 2 different models/formulas.

1) Alpha 1 & 2: More random mineral fields but smaller amounts to entertain new players, but dissuade veterans. The total amounts available should be driven by consumption. Balance by amounts available on the island's market (per island), which prevents over or under supply.

2) Beta & Gamma: Larger static fields that support corporate mining ops and defense (and therefore PvP). Also balance amounts by consumption, but across island groups. If yours is mined out, you will have to go next door for it.

Also, there should be rare random "trace" spawns of all high end minerals on all alpha island. This will stimulate industry/manufacturing on the alpha islands. It should be enough for the diligent miner to make a few million quickly, but if he wants more he will have to join a Beta Corp.

There already are for Epri, not so much for Noralgis and the system in place is a far better system than just putting an Epri field on the map. Something a directional scanner will pick up right away. I got 6 x dyspro pl10 and a dyspro Pl40 while mining on Alpha 1 yesterday.

If you have recycling to 10 and recycle that at a 50 facility, it's .7 with no standings. The stat will say 60% but if you look at waste and mineral it's actually giving you 70% but it works out that I got 56K Epri from mining Titan Ore.

I've mined all three plants, I've never gotten a Noralgis rare. Granted, I've never gathered the way I mine. The option just isn't there. I don't look at it as a make a few million opportunity though. I see it from a, how much Alpha mining will I need to dedicate to in order to make a pure Alpha MK2 Seth? Right now I couldn't do it, I don't have access to the Noralgis but the system is there.

I pay for games using throw away gift cards. Vanill Master Cards.

I have around 15 of them on my desk right now. Some have $1.5 and some have $3.5 and all together there is around $50 worth of balances on these non transferable cards. Those balances are waste to me.

I am surprised nobody has set up a site to scrub these cards. I know they are popular, plenty of people use them. Mostly for security reasons. Balance on the card is all you can lose if someone gets the number.

I'd take it one step further and say, put a field in where I can input a dollar figure and the amount of credits I get is shown. Perp credit math out to around 2.5 credits per penny using the $10. for 2400 math. So flatten it to 2 per penny, allow someone to purchase as little 200.

The trouble with this is, I don't know if there is a transaction cost to making sale or if it's percentage. If there is no base transaction cost, this scrubbing system would work and would open up a lot of income potential that people see as waste.

This isn't about production capacity or mining capacity though. I can build robots on Alpha either way. I just don't need to buy everything from my 'Competition' right now.

The system right now means I don't need to make my enemy powerful to make myself powerful. I sell Plasma to seeds at a loss, for a reason. This is a PvP game and the only people who buy Plasma are people on Beta who can make a profit from it.

Why is it Gamma and Beta players sell Noralgis and Epri?
They want NIC to purchase stuff they CBA to mine themselves or loot themselves. From? Alpha players because those neutral Alpha players aren't welcome on Beta and Gamma. If I truly wanted to control Perp, I wouldn't sell Epri or Noralgis, at any price. You want it? Come get it or run Assaults and small squads of Mech made from lotted Epri.

The system right now leaves options and possibilities for war. If you fear the noob, stop trying to control him and get ready to fight him.

- I should also point out, I have been mining a stermonit spawn on an Alpha 1 and while it has maybe 30 mill Sterm in it, I haven't seen another person near it. I log in to what I left the day before.

A true verdict can't be reached on the state of mining until the ore starts getting used. That will be a while becasue any new people from Steam are going to need to be able to research.

Veteran corps with full research trees should be selling that to recruit. Let new people mine on Alpha but keep Ore off the market by giving them a way to manufacture it. Ore is a small slice of the Nia, industrial pie.

We need to tweak the ore fields instantly respawning.

As it is, alpha now represents an infinite waterfall of resources in perfect safety, Beta is only useful for epriton.

Maybe in a year though the worse case scenario has people building robots in the tens of thousands and war breaks out all over Nia. Anything bigger than a Mech and you need enough Epri and Noralgis that they are more than enough of a bottleneck on their own.

If Steam takes off and the players have an awareness of the system, Kernals will be the thing everyone is farming, not Ore. If they insist on farming Ore, I'll farm Kernals and buy the ore from them.

That's the only thing they need to change in Beta.

Well... tried to keep it interesting as much as we could but it doesn't work apparently. We'll change all alpha 2 NPCs to orange.

I do understand what you were trying to do. The 'problem' began back when you made the game.

The volumes of Ore and material needed to build robots is based on static spawns of resources that would be harvested by individuals and maybe a hauler alt. That has never changed. I use the word 'problem' loosely. I very much like the Industrial syetem in this game. More now than before with the open kernal system.

Gather materials, Make prototype
Make CT
Gather materials per unit,
Manufacture

Fittings do this X3 up to Meta 3 for a typical Alpha player.

Add in loot compnents needed for research and prototype.

Your system is deep enough and well thought out enough that you don't need to ask people to play hide and seek on alpha. Eliminating these PvP traps is a good choice.

I don't seem to be getting any Noralgis on Alpha from the 10, 40 and 90 randoms and I don't get enough Epri to keep up production. I will need to buy those things from Beta and Gamma players if I want to stay on Alpha. I will also need to 'fight' for resources on alpha if/ when the population increases.

Alpha1, alpha2 and their content are now accessible and that's what they need to be right now. The choices being made are smart choices.

I am a PvP player. I just know better than to do it on the other guys terms and I think that is the defining aspect. Most pleyers who come to this game will be looking for PvP, just not on someobe elses terms. I will go out of my way to make sure they have a plan available to make sure that stays an option. I'm not going to try and control markets, get rich off of new people. I will simply lead by example.

TL:DR You are doing fine. Keep up the good work.
