I am sure tokens will have further uses and seems to be a great idea, but could it be possible 'unlock' a praetrorian Gropho or equivalent faction for an ungodly amount of tokens (maybe 100k). This could be the best incentive for missions ever.

In a sandbox game I have mixed opinions when something is made obtainable by a single course of action even if that action takes huge amounts of time.

It's a nice idea for a very long term goal having unique items on the mission reward list. I just wonder if it would make players feel like they HAD to do assignments to get the very best robots in the game.

This happen if you log in and don't select a character.

Something is left in the client that causes the error. I also get the error if I get DC'ed sometimes.

GL stopping these attacks, i am a new player and am enjoying the game so far:D

It's really nice to see that there are new players like yourself showing support.

Hopefully the bottle neck can be resolved soon enough and render these attacks useless.

Sweeping generalization:
--This thread is full of whine because Morte lost a battle.--

Everyone whines when the lose a battle in Perpetuum.

I wish I could take the important points here seriously but sadly due to the tone of the thread I can't.

The devs are working hard and while you may not like the content that doesn't mean everyone day. There is no such thing as "Right for Perpetuum". There is only "Right for specific Play styles"

As much as I wish the devs would have no made so many mistakes or had so many issues they're a part of life.

The server has been 4 drops in the last 24 hours. All online agents are effected but it has not yet caused a total drop out of all connections as far as the user graph shows.

Got the same problem here, also since the last patch.  I'm getting around it by sticking most of the map off screen but it doesn't look v nice.

What resolution are you running the game at? The minimum size for the map appears to be around 900x500 which for a minimum is far too big on small resolutions.

Rejoice Fellow Agents!

The robot death graph is back and it appears to have been IMPROVED!

Green = Insured Robots

Okay guys, I figured it out.

He's saying beta is unsafe and so farming NIC there isn't safe to do because not only can the NPCs kill you but players too.

The only valid point he makes is that beta NPCs are too easy.

If you want to stand 100m from a target and blow it up then by all means. A single NPC should not kill you with their explosion damage unless you're on low health.

A Gropho should easily be able to shoot close range medium missiles 200m+. NPCing is meant to be about moving, staying outside the enemy optimal range or tanking the hits. It sounds like you're not tanking OR moving.

Sorry but if you're not willing to WORK for the extra rewards that beta can offer.. Back to Alpha with you.

Sounds like a PBS idea. And I am sure they're thinking about "Mines" as a building.

If you choose not be subscribe you should not be able to buy EP. If you only just found the game and are a new player it's not fair to let them buy all the EP they could have had if they'd have found the game sooner.

The game is balanced enough where you don't need this feature. Even if you did buy all the missed EP back you'd still want more and would be thinking or anything feature to get even more EP.

Removing attributes is enough and while I'd love to see a better "Downgrading" system for extensions it's not urgent.

Many of those are alts and some of them are even blank users (Not sure how so many blank forum users got created)

To be fair trials turning into players for many games are pretty low. If we estimate there are 2,500 active accounts and there have been 23,000 characters made. That's not that low.

Keep in mind every 15 days 15+ new accounts are needed just to scout teleporters. There are a lot of trail accounts being made and there must be a few issues with the first run of clients because I see a lot of new players log in for the first time, log out 20 seconds later and sometimes they don't come back for days.. other times it's never.

I'll admit it. I'm a simple man so I need this explained again in really short sentences.

If I understand correctly you want to make a fan-fic of Perpetuum but the contents of the fan-fic will be based around player interactions such as battles or key events?

Back when I was in M2S this was a daily occurrence. Siddy would, while roaming, regale us stories of battles. Usually with much voice acting and swear words.

Amusing none the less. Honestly this is more a form of advertising for Perpetuum. I, myself, would not be purchasing a copy of any Perpetuum fan-fic. I am also subscribed to "Sequer Monthly" and "Two Rivelers, one Titan Field"

Best of luck to you. Sadly putting "No Joke" in the title made it hard to take seriously.

+1 Resubbing an account now.

why do i need to be on a chat channal to get this information?? when it can easely be put on the game client or on the web page?

you know the five stages of grief/death?

Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

A certain person  told me that DEVs are often going through these stages when it comes to their product.
-> i guess with this DDoS attack, they are at the middle point (bargaining) and they need get to the last stage before putting it up into NEWS section wink

Right now I'd assume the devs are trying to work out what to do and how to get protect their game from future attacks. I understand they don't have time to tell us every detail and why would they want to? They're trying to be professional. Why report on information you don't have yet?

My biggest fear is that they're all working on PBS but I can't see the game being able to support such features at the moment. It's a case of missing the mark. The fundamental systems aren't there yet and their big show stopped is now at risk of being a show flopper.

I really hope we see some of the other issues with the game addressed. As much as I want to see new features I'd like to see old mechanics reworked and make more fun or using new systems.

Perpetuum is a massive grind fest. that requires massive amounts of logistics to keep an organised group together. It constantly creates drama and if you want to do well you have to push mechanics to their limits. That said I really love the vision behind Perpetuum and only wish that the design, concepts and graphics could be done justice. I want to see Perpetuum do well and will continue to support it.

My only fear is that the devs will give up. I really don't want to see that happen! You can do it devs. Awesome product and awesome ideas. Keep it up and make the world the way you imagined it.

Devs are on the case but these sorts of issues take time to resolve and they move around so much that fixing it from one place just causes it to pop up from another. Botnets. big_smile

Perpetuum is what it is. Completely driven by players but many players aren't drive to achieve anything by the game.
There is a lot of doing -exactly- the same thing which a lot of games suffer but most them use story or conflicts to spread this apart.

Even PVP is very 'Samey' in Perpetuum but it's not necessarily a bad thing. I'll be honest. I have little urge to PVP because I don't feel I have the time to be involved in it. Slowing the progression of the enemy feels like a waste of time when I could be improving my wallet/assets. I don't have time for full scale 24/7 PVP which is what Perpetuum usually requires to maintain a high beta profile.

Perpetuum is a very good game but I agree, once you're away from it for a day or two.. the addiction quality isn't there any more and you start to see it from what it is. But I keep coming back! smile

We don't have robots that can swim yet.

The attack is now targeting the webserver too, although this one is taking it slightly better.

It's not the best fix but could you not get your ISP to filter out a bunch of IPs if a majority of the attacks are coming from infected computers in a specific part of the world?

Also seems they gave up on the web server for now because it handled the attack better.

Not sure if it's relevant but there are laws against this and in recent years there have been a number of arrests and even prison sentences for people leading these sorts of attacks. I doubt that will put the person off that's doing this.

It's dead, Jim.

Looking at the feeds it seems that either some improvements have been made or that the last attack was no successful. Either way not every player was effect during the last attack which is an improvement.

Let's hope future attacks just make things slower rather than have them stop.

When using a "Collection" landmark (Where you collect items from) there is an error with their default approach distance before interacting. If you try to use the landmarks while under 100m but above 10m you get an error and your robot makes no attempt to move lose.

This does not happen with "Submit" landmarks as your robot will try to move to 10m away before accessing the landmark.

Looks like a typo in the distance perhaps? Ticket Raised. #388 - Interactive Landmark

When you teleport sometimes/all the time (For me) when you teleport with an assignment on another island the terrain markers are not loaded.

This is highlighted on the tutorial assignments that ask you teleport and use an interface directly next to the teleporter.

The radar shows these locations correctly and sometimes some actions will cause the terrain markers to display but teleporting does not cause a refresh which it should.

Ticket Submitted.

Eve: If there is a trial account connected then there can be no live accounts connected from the same IP address

Perpetuum: Any amount of accounts no matter their type can connect from the same IP.

Pros of EVE system: Stops trial scouts or multi-trials at the same time.

Cons of EVE system: Stops or limits some friends playing together.
