*cough* m2s *cough* so after you made bilions of NIC by doing this, you decide you made enough so other players cant catch you up? Good call! lol

We wish.  We did make some millions on the first day when they had beta kernal orders pumped up like 3x of alpha but that wasn't all that much in comparison to what most people have now.

Combat characters rely on kernels to make a profit, so they need to stay how they are.

Which is why they need to be nerfed.  Its way too *** easy to make money farming low level spawns.  We needs more incentive to kill high rank spawns to get players off of noob areas clogging them up.

You can still make considerable amounts of money elsewhere and much more with a mech on beta, but for the safety and NIC/hour that rank 1 spawns give its the best place to farm right now.

In beta there were NPC buy orders for many more items, so looting/hauling at rank 3 spawns was easily more profitable if you had a sequer.  Now that those orders are gone and players dont need tons of modules that avenue of profit is gone as well.  I dont see the players complaining about this nerf in profitability.  I could easily make 4-5m NIC in an hour with those spawns and an alt hauler.

You wont be poor as a combat character if they make low level kernals cheaper, or just remove them and let the players decide their price, you'll just have to find better places to make money.  More risk SHOULD equal more reward.  That is simply not the case right now.

Step 1:  Dont spend any EP until you are certain what weapon type you want to use.

Step 2:  Spend all your EP into basic robotics, basic weaponry, and general weapon skills.  *** face with assault bots.

Step 3:  When you are ready to move into mechs (about 1 month into the game), use your re-spec with only the prerequisites (basic robotics 4, basic [weapon] 3, etc) to get to mechs and medium weapons.  *** face with mechs now and say "F*CK YOU!" to bots.

(It seems as if people are taking this more seriously than I originally intended.  This was meant to be a "wow, you can really do this that easily?" type thread.  Personally, I think the 45 day respec period is a bit way too f*cking long, because you can spec so well into bots early on and just forget about them and get your EP back when you want mechs.)

Probably a noob in your former corp that only had access to level 1 and therefore thought your thievery was of epic proportions.

Wasnt it only like 100k missiles?  That equates to like 6-7m NIC.  You stole 1 mech worth of stuff from your corp.  Gratz.

Yes, I like this idea just as long as its a *** ton to upgrade, so the culumative value comes no where close to the value of the upgraded item.  It would be a nice boost to the value of low level decoders making them at least worth keeping, but wouldnt degrade the value of high level decoders.

looks cool. the plants look stretched on the peripheral screens but still, it's nice to get chat window/radar/etc out of the clutter from the center

Its supposed to do that because its your peripheral vision, and if you are focused on the middle screen the sides look 'right' in some respect.

Hell, if I had 3 screens like that I'd probably have windows filling up both of the 2 side screens all the time anyway.  Between the map, radar, cargo, landmarks, there wouldnt be much more room tongue

You will still be able to make NIC from combat, you'll just have to start farming higher level spawns for better kernals and items.

When the low level kernals plummet in price because theyre so damn easy to get and you dont need that many of them to get all the research, the higher level kernals will really start to show their worth.

Its not just about the NIC faucets that will get players money.  You will get money from the industrials who need the kernals and have the NIC to buy it.  The missions are still a very good NIC faucet, but not so much that we'll just see tons of inflation because everyone is rich.

TBH, the fact that any noob can be a multimillionaire in a day or less seems really REALLY bad.  Sure, being able to replace gear quickly from the market is nice, but if theres too much NIC floating around it will just f*ck with the market way too much.

TL:DR.  Not trying to be a troll (christmas spirit?  maybe just christmas spirits) but it really was a bit too long winded for me.  Maybe some bullet points of your main ideas would be nice.

Hopefully we'll see POS introduced around outposts before we get the full base building system.  I would love to see things like sensor towers (~2km radar range visible to anyone in the corp who owns it), improved facilities, and maybe even passive mining structures that require mining charges and have cargo capacities that must be emptied once and a while.  If we get things like this you will have a damn good reason to stick out a fight and not just run and dock.  Sure you can regroup and reinforce, but the more time you wait the more likely your buildings will get blown the f*ck up.

Also:  In before Zoom's "ITS NOT PO!!!" rage post.

A full industry player will be much more competetive than an industry alt.  Yes, they can have production lines for a corp and be pretty much afk, but if you really want to be an industrialist, you will be doing things like marketing and mining along with it, so you'll need to spend much more time on it.

Time playing is valuable in this game for sure, but production only characters certainly have it easier.

So what's to prevent throwaway alts bieng used even if the safe zones are removed?

They get killed and have to run back there.  If anything its just harder to scout.  If they kill your scout you dont have eyes on them until you run your *** back over there.

Thats way better.  If they all jump through they will get *** by the group waiting on the other side, and they never know exactly how many are there unless they send a scout in to die.

Lets hope the developers understand whats wrong here.

Having some minor benefit on alpha with SAPs would be interesting, but not as beta teleports.

Any corp that registers will be able to pvp eachother to capture the SAPs, but not get flagged to everyone when they decide to fight.

lets use last night as an example shall we?

M2S jumps in. we group to engage, they run the hillmanoc and plop out lawn chairs.

we spend half an hour watching them, and they simply jump in another group, and split them off, knowing full well we can't leave the group on the gate, and we didn't have enough to withstand a two sided attack, so there we sat.

Without the safe zone, we could've popped them where they sat, or at least moved off if they chose to sat on alpha, and gotten half the squad dealt with while they were teleporting in.

Also the scouting this is obvious garbage, and frankly I'm amazed that made it past beta but I don't know. That being said, a timer, with a movement/area based forfeit penalty would be perfect. it involved risk, keeps people from running 1000 miles away before they can be attacked, and means jumping afk isn't possible.

Also, if anyone jumps into a beta island, and expects it to not be camped ( at least by a scout ) even now, they're in for a surprise, wouldn't you all agree?

It made it past beta because this new 'protection zone' stuff is very new.  There used to just be 1km ranged police towers that would insta-pop any flagged player.  These were placed at alpha teleports and 3/4 around beta terminals.

These new safe zones came in like a month or so before release, so there wasnt a ton of testing done on them.

The overlord class i researched does. I've tested it with a lower tier version of this class and that gives it, so obviously the higher tier version should too. It would make no sense atall for the higher tiered version of this npc to not give it when the lower tier version does.

Overlords just say, "F*CK THE LIGHTWEIGHT FRAME! WE'LL DO IT LIVE!"

overlord = pelistal
pelistals dont have t4 lwf research...
high speed is not a pelistal attribute

Pelistal gave lwf research in the past.  The fact that they are slower would IMO be the reason they'd give LWF research to try to compensate for their lower speed.

This is the same logic why you get kinetic hardener research from pelistal as well.   It is used to compensate for their low resistances.

Free scouting is stupid in a pvp area.  I have 2 alts sitting on the teleport safe zones just because I can.  Its useful as hell to have them, but I still think it shouldnt be possible to just afk scout.

They woudl still be able to scout free on the alpha side, but they would have to risk being killed if they wanted to jump to beta to see what the group was doing if the protection wore off completely before they could teleport off the island again.
