It didn't used to be that way but CIR and 77 abused the agro mechanic to grief people on alpha and the devs had to dumb it down until it could be fixed. They are planning on changing it back afaik but its just a matter of when.

I feel there would have been a better way... besides, what's the problem with griefing?

- suicide ganking
- miner bumping
- scamming

Are all well alive and kicking in Eve and the game isn't dead yet. Not everything has to be fixed just because some people whine about it imho...

May I add to this discussion by saying that in Eve missions or ratting sites, logi-ships DO get aggro all the time. The rats switch aggro randomly I believe.

Running sites or missions with a logi-account is therefore not feasible. As a new player I found it hilariously easy to grind even heavy mech sites in an Artemis with fairly low skills.

I don't know if it's intended that a 2 month-old player can earn 60mil NIC that easily and in a fairly short amount of time (like, 3 or 4 hours). I don't even have the skills yet, but have a Seth and a Lithus lying around, not to mention my logi-account is already in a Riveler, everything T4'ed of course...

Hello!  Player Kim Cho!

Dear player, I wish to inform you that there is no hate.  This is a hate free zone.  The players in the fore mentioned corps are merely playing a game in which rivalry and struggle is a part of it!  I wish you good will and luck in the future.  Also player Kim Cho did you try out those solo farming fits yet?

Dear Mr. Ville,

While I truly wish to be able to believe what you tell me, I have read this forum for the past 2 weeks and gotten a strong feeling that in many discussions our struggles with each other in the game play just as big a role on the forums. Just a feeling, however, no proof.

Sadly, I didn't have the chance to try them out yet, since I currently have a major connection problem, about which I already made a post in the Bugs section of this forum. As soon as this issue is sorted out, I will test your kindly provided fittings as soon as possible.

Good luck to you too, and I am looking forward to reading from you again soon!

Best regards,

Kim

Huh, and I thought it's some kind of meme that I didn't understand...

+ 1 for the idea of "more of that"

It makes the forum more enjoyable.
Although, people usually only "+ 1", if they just agree with the arguments already mentioned... maybe an up-/down-vote system? ... nope, that will be heavily abused by the CIR/77/JOKE/CONS hate for each other.

Since a few days, I get ridiculous high pings, up to 5k. The npc rats are jumping around, everything takes ages, it's unplayable...

I tried the tracerouter, but it doesn't produce anything up to the server.

Well this thread has become more helpful than i thought.

Thanks all for the input, I will try it out! big_smile

Would be nice not to have to manage 3 accounts at once <.<

And since you all seem to be pretty confident that it's possible, I'll give my +1 for the NPC hauler idea.

I don't know if you really can compare these two.

That one looks like a DWO-clone, with fixed battlefields and no open world, while Perp is an open world sandbox mmo.

you can compare how much player they pull in and keep playing.

Good point.

And it looks fun, at least more fun than DWO.  I'll keep an eye on it, thanks!

Actually, I hadn't, thank you for the info.

Still, I'd love to see a fitting that can take on the heavy mech spawns on Alpha 2 solo with close the same efficiency as a fighter-logi setup. And the extensions needed for it to work properly.

Unless his loop includes a chat-bot, I don't think so.

We met before and he usually reacts to Vicinity chat. Also his grinding behavior doesn't look like anything automated.

Well to be fair, I always see you grinding at the same spot... maybe you should look for another one, in case "yours" is occupied?

I know of at least 3 decent spots on Hershfield and I guess there are some more... I don't think Alpha needs an extension.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's not that i like multi-accounts, I'd gladly play with one only. And I'm up for every possibility to piss people off, especially on Alpha. But if he wants to implement these NPC haulers, then the devs should either overhaul the NPC rats or the bots, so that you also don't need a logibot behind you. Which isn't going to happen. So you still need at least 2 accounts to be able to rat more or less efficiently.

The thing with steam accounts is not impossible at all, btw.

1. copy your perpetuum folder from /steamapps into another folder for every account you have
2. make shortcut of perpetuum.exe
3. start both clients. you can now choose from every account that is connected to your steam account, no need to manually log in.

about the NPCs - when the DEVs really do what they wrote in that other topic, without npcs dropping t1 loot at all, you suddenly have much more room in your robot wink since you do not have to pick up stuff to delete it in cargo, which you cannot do while having "in combat status", or when your cargo is already full.
You can farm any NPC spot on alpha with a single robot, not even a heavy mech is needed to farm the "hardest" spots since they reduced the NPCs on Alpha to Asia-grinder low-cost MMO versions.

You cannot aquire multiple accounts via steam, so its not possible to do that workaround with steam only. (read my previous post again wink ) Sales only happen within the Steam shop.

If they really nerf T1 drop rates, okay. I'd support that.
Regarding that "any spot farmable in a single robot", I highly doubt that, except you have really good skills. I am currently in an fully T4-equipped Machine-gun Artemis and there is no way in hell I could farm most mech-spots on Alpha without my logibot. Even with most accumulator skills to lvl 5+ I still get sucked dry quite often, and having to fit an armour repper doesn't exactly help in that regard. The amount of EWAR you get from the rats is hard.
If those are the nerfed asia-grinder bots, then I don't want to know what they did before that. I'd probably have to grind assault bots until I'm in a heavy mech with lvl 10 skills.

I guess I could grind at some other spots with smaller bots, but even that would be far from efficient.

And sorry, I apparently misunderstood your steam point, nevermind me. smile

Can someone please explain if there is a valid reason for transport bots to be able to fit miner modules. Wouldn't it solve the AFK mining problem if you would remove that option? Or am I missing something here?

Of course Agent Ville would still be able to mine AFK with 8 Rivelers but this would require a macro or something to empty the cargo into a can which is against the EULA and could get him banned.

i am using my hauler for RR support, which wouldn'T be possible if they would remove the ability to fit INDSUTRIAL modules on an INDUSTRIAL robot.

and when gamma is back, that industrial slot is eventually used for terraforming or construction modules, and thats a very important factor.

What a load of bollocks.

There's no need for arm slots on haulers at all.

Care to elaborate?

just because almost everyone has several accounts - it doesn't mean they should be norm in your everyday game experience. Especially when you think about the difficulty to get multiple accounts via steam only (aka impossible), you drive away possible new customers that do not like the multi-accounting part at all.

Unlimited hdt and Titan orders need to go.  Players are placing afk scarabs and sequers over night on the fields and selling to a bottomless order!  The market needs inflation and deflation and these orders are keeping it up!  I kept 8 scarabs on a field overnight and cashed out 30 million nic this morning!  I did the same thing at work!  This is wrecking the economy!

All I see is a lack of possibilities to gank your *** off the mining field.

Player Kim Cho, Hello!

I would first like to point out that I value your positive and intriguing Feed back.  I look forward to a highly constructive conversation to you which leads to many spin off discussions about why alpha minerals are so plentiful.  I would like to ask though player Kim Cho.  How do you "ghank your *** off the mining field"?  Even if you began mining at the edge of a mineral field my 8 scarabs are still pulling more than a Riveler MK2 w/ fast extract nexus.  Player Kim Cho, just this morning I returned back into station with 130 Million HDT that was off loaded into corp storage.  I am at 1.5 Billion just in a 9 to 12 day cycle player Kim Cho!  Completely afk mind you.  Player Kim Cho, I feel this kind of intake is far exceeding what should be allowed to happen.  Player Kim Cho, if the current trends continue the mineral market will push to an all time low for ore prices.  Thanks to wonderful Developer Zoom who lowered the inifinte buy orders(leaky NIC faucet) the minerals will now reflect supply and demand!  I hope you understand what I am talking about Player Kim Cho!  I like wise value your feedback and look forward to discussing wonderful ideas you have in the future.  Take care and be safe! o/

I only read 3 answers of yours and god, it already pisses me off. Good job.

Anyway.

I understand what you are saying, but I was referring to the point, that it shouldn't be possible to afk-mine that excessively in the first place.
Alpha is too safe in my opinion.

I have asked this question in another thread already and I am going to repeat it:

From your point of view, what exactly is your intended incentive for us new players to go beta?

I know it has to be harder and includes more risk, but there also has to be a bigger reward. If I can run beacons all day on alpha and can get ALL the loot, while on beta i not only risk my bot, but ALSO my loot (more risk -> less reward), why should I go there?

I would like to see something similar to a courier. Npc.  Something we buy from the PC market.  Once you click on it in your inventory it displays a map.  It uses navigation points tied into your extensions.  I pick point one to be pick up click on a drop down menu to be field can or container.  Then I pick its navigation route with limited points on the map.  This hauler would be totally ghankable even on alpha but flag individuals.  It could have custom variables like speed or tanked or masked.  I think this would be awesome addition to pve.

To be fair, I don't see the use, at least not on Alpha. As far as I see it, everyone and his dog has at least 2 or 3 accounts.
With the autopilot more or less working, I don't see why anyone would use these NPC couriers on Alpha, especially when they're gankable. Carebears are risk-averse.

That said, I can imagine that on Beta or Gamma they might be more useful, but since I've only been on Gamma for 2 weeks like 2 years ago, I can't say much about that.
