In Perpetuum, exact coordinates are pretty much what solar systems are in EVE, as constellations are to zones.

Umm no. Exact coordinates are just that, exact. Same thing you get when you scan someone down in EVE. The ability to go exactly to where they are or exactly where they were. EVE Systems = Perpetuum Islands since there are different places you can go within these areas.

If having these coordinates isnt such a big deal then why the big argument to keep them? hmm

Celebro wrote:

Death Cords are just as good info for pvper and industrials to avoid hot zones so I don't see the problem here.

Lets just get rid of the coords and have hot zones. No one need to know who exactly was killed there just that the area has seen kills.

This thread has too many comparisons to EVE. Exact coords in EVE would be useless since the just RC>warp to their destination. In PERP we have to traverse the landscape so having those coords makes a much bigger impact on gameplay. Remember that Beta islands arent just for pvp. Having exact coords in KM are just going to create hot spots on the islands that every roam is going to hit to look for targets. Doesnt matter what the delay is. Remember the static epi spots? Same ***. Someone with too much time on their hands is just going to sift through a months data and log the enemies deaths and times of death and now you have objectives for pvp roams. Yes everyone has access to do this but the players who this will affect the most will be the noob corps/solo player who can only get on at certain times trying to do some stealthy activities.

EDIT: I like the hotspot addition but I feel individual coords shouldnt be included in each KM. The data should still be collected but should be compiled for a month end dump from Avatar. That way we could still have hot spots on the islands but no one will be the wiser for who was killed where. No free intel and keeps those who run websites with specific political affiliations honest. big_smile

STC in a station. Not suprising.  Yes chat lag is increasing.

So here are the problems I see with this new risk less mining on Alpha 2's

All corps will be doing production from these islands after gamma is wiped (at least for a long while)

Not only will the miners/industrialists be doing mining on these islands but pvprs (some) will also have an afk toon they can park and gather loads of mins (remember the bowl on tellesis)

Now that most if not all mins (except the obvious ones) will be gathered on the same islands where they will be used that takes away any slowdown due to logistics.

So what right?

Prices of alpha mins will drop. This is good for people/corps who just want to buy mins but not so much for the player who wants to make some nic from mining. For the alpha only corps good luck getting good trade value towards non alpha mins. One hours haul of epi or colox will trade for 2 to 3 hours worth the alpha mins. Prices of everything will drop also cause of the discounted mineral costs (good for noobs) but it wont matter much anyways cause most corps will be producing their own items/bots. Supply>Demand

If we cant increase the risk of getting minerals on these islands then we need to increase the time it takes to get them.

Agreed that NPCs need to be reworked. Sooner rather than later. Making all NPCs passive on alpha 2s is a bad move. Being able to mine without risk on alpha 2s (the point I was trying to make sure wasnt dumped on) will be very bad for what market we do have if allowed to continue for very long. I mine more than anything so this is a plus for me personally.

And be there you will without an argument or a point. Troll on m8. lol

It is important m8 when you try and defend an obvious troll post (Burial). The argument was the game doesnt need anymore risk-less mining. Burial used half of the original statement (infinite mins) and spun it (infinite NPCs) to troll the point of his argument and derail the conversation. Doesnt matter what direction the rest of the BS is when youre only adding to it. wink

Why are you only addressing half of his argument. Troll? hmm

What are you getting at? Seriously, I don't understand your reply here.

So you pointed out NPCs are infinite. Whats the point in your statement in relation to the original argument?

Can you sell speed modifiers also. Say $5 to boost speed (50% - 100%) on a bot for 30 days or until dead.

It would need balancing but still not a bad thought. big_smile

Ore is infinite on all islands, we hardly need more risk-less mining added to the game.

So the consensus is armored teles are broken in their current form and then the patch drops and we seem to have tears coming from those who were abusing that mechanic (shame on you!).

Now the arguments are:

That "blob" styled pvp will be the only form of pvp that will be viable.

New and small corps will not be able to make it on beta (think of the children!)

My butt will always be hurt from Syndic yarr and now the devs are doing whatever he wants fuuu

========================================================================
All this *** about the "blob" is getting pretty old. You guys bring 10 for your roam and we defend with 15 that is not a "blob". Its called having 15 people who could respond in time to defend. STC needs to stop being kb whores and being afraid to lose bots. Thats the only reason youre whining about the tele changes. The rest is just political, still butthurt bs.

There is so much butthurt in this thread with a little RAGE thrown in.

Exciting! lol

I paid way more than $30 for each of my accounts and I should have something to show for my support in the game.
Work hard to catch up or dont.

Again, this is hilarious.

Somethings gotta change, but not this stuff.  So we have to stay with the status quote for the sake of the game.

Even tho, thus far, the status quo doesn't seem to be working out so well.

I gotta say the Dev's are either laughing there *** off, or crying in disgust.

No one mentioned staying with the status quo, until now. lol It is hilarious.

I hope players stay long enough to worry about the changes currently in the works. Havent seen many do so thus far but you never know.

The devs should take note and see that Steam launch is a HUGE opportunity that they wont get again. I think they should seriously take a look at their game and get to the root cause players dont remain sub'd and focus all their efforts to fix that problem. What good is getting all these players if they cant retain them. It will be another Eve exodus all over again. I cant even spell MBA but if your business model is centered around a product that generates its revenue by repeat business and that product isnt getting its customers to continue buying after their first purchase then something needs to be fixed. Follow bots, RSA nerfs and vertical walls should all be on the back burner.

I always felt cheated when I spent $40 - $50 for a console game that I was able to play through in 6 hours. I have a feeling alot of the new players are going to get the same feeling about this game real quick.

The problem with missions is without something shiny at the end its just a grind. The shiny at the end of our missions is just new sparks. The faction level doesn't mean anything and there is nothing good to spend your tokens on other than beacons.  The devs would be smart to add new things to the existing content we already have. That way they dont have to rush out something new just to keep people interested.

So while winning the war against Liquizit and doing my various other Hello Kitty activities I was pondering the meaning to my robot life here in Perp. I jumped into gen chat to get the spiritual guidance I was seeking and had a thought. What the eff am I going to do if Steam DOESNT work out?

I think steam is going to bring an influx of a few hundred new players but what happens if they dont stay and play in this sandbox? We all know the biggest shortfall of this game is lack of content but yet we are getting the devs to focus their limited resources on nerfing follow bots and RSA's and other *** that isnt going to keep newer players in the game.

So... What are you going to do if you log into the game 3 months after steam and see gen chat still <75?

so once this needed change is done gamma is going to suck. Me and Smokey have been talking about what makes it worthwhile to live there.

We would advocate that we do the following:

Make all mk 2 require colixium

Move epi back to Gamma

increase the strength of Auras

Also make cortex's only available by artifacting.
