Buddy, old pal Dev Zoom:  Tux told this to you, drew a picture and then posted it on the forums.

And should I remind you, you did a 2d/3D changed that took down Bergers Island.  If you change this mechanic, please CLEARLY EXPLAIN WHAT YOUR CHANGING AND HOW IT EFFECTS GAMMA BASES.  I'll be damned if we put months into building something so it can be changed overnight.  The base in question is not invulnerable, it just has the finest gamma players who have actually successfully dropped defended Gammas and collectively built the base.  Also I had not hand in building.

Any more updates on this project?

well i can set the other bases offline, is what i am suggesting.  As long as they aren't attacked we are good.

yep.

doing anything by adding NEW CONTENT, is more than doing nothing or rebalancing existing content

Honestly the balance patch has been blown up to be the sole scapegoat for the current low number of players, because that's convenient. Even if it had some bad decisions in it, I think the majority of the changes was good (light/assault boost, role bonuses) so there is no need for a rollback. That said, with the introduction of Syndicate robots I will take a look at overall robot balance again and make changes if necessary.

Zoom,

I agree, the assaults got decent roles.  Light ewar bots have no survivablity versus other lights.  Mechs/Heavy pilots don't have range to engage without suffering from explosion damage problems.  Meaning the 3% to 5% really gimped the versatility of different fittings in order be able to do anything else but the same old cookie cutter.  Seth mk2 still out dps mesmers with greater range.  Long range tackle is not viable(desperately needed with mk2 velocity 10 mech mk2s).  And players in Pvp feel that.  More importantly there's no easier counter on the table to the cookie cutter except:  bring more dudes.  Don't think we don't remember the ewar nerf!!

New xpac drops in August.  We are preparing for it.

I have a raid group going on Friday nights, we are looking for 1-2 more healers plus an additional dps.

Well it discourages having storages there.  Unless you actually live there.

Why are we still even discussing this?  Here's what I'd suggest to make this less of a hardcore game of asset denial.  Put access panels at the terminals that let you:equip, access personal equipment and corporation storage.  The only thing is you can not create storage for corporations.  Keep the lock out mechanic and in order to have corporation storage, you'd have to at some point get inside the terminal to make the corporation storage.  Also corporation storage costs pay to the station owner.

i just want to point out that when the mission revamp went through we saw an increase in players and activity on beta.  Missions got nerfed, which negated a lot of reasons veterans were playing so they left.  PVP keeps peeps in the game, while PvE pushes players to PvP.  I do like what chemist suggested, however what the game needs is PvE content to keep casual players in the game.  PvP caters to only a small portion of the population while PvE caters to both.
just to point out, gathering materials is a grind and should not be considered content.

Rovoc talking sense. This is why I pleaded with you and begged you not to nerf missions and told ypu it would kill the population.

I hope your happy with your 'balance' zoom

You advocated for their nerfing, saying theres no real nic sink in the game lolol.

Dev Zoom at least give us(veterans) something with the next patch.  Like lump the EP system with like syndicate supply crates.  Or a new syndicate robot, something.

Why not get rid of daily EP?  Use boosters to pump up EP gained by doing stuff.  Increase EP requirements by an incriminatle amounts so you can be a maxed EP pilot in 1 year playing 8 hours a day.  Then instead of doing that whole ex potential curve stuff, just make it simple.

I'm going to give you my full two cents here.  I am not going to go into great detail because no one at AC will care or read it anyway.  But here we go:

THERE HAS TO BE WAR, but it can't be ALL OR NOTHING.  PVP is great and good but there needs to be something worth while to play for.

All or nothing stems with the territorial warfare aspect of the game.  People LOVE taking bases on Beta and gamma and using them and settling into them but we are hella close.  And the random timers are great mini game but they aren't friendly to corporation based game play they are for alliances.  Which worked 3 years ago because there were people playing, and not EVERYONE had T4 gear and there was a little bit of luck/skill game play involved.

What needs to happen is threefold.

Step One:

Greater restrictions on Beta management need to exist.  For example a corporation can only own 1 or 2 stations.
MORE NPC OWNED BETA TERMINALS NEED TO APPEAR. To allow safe spaces.  (The PLAYERBASE WOULD LOVE YOU IF YOU MADE CARBON COPYS OF ALPHA AND MADE ADDITIONAL BETA TERMINALS OUT OF THEM).

Step Two:

Syndicate robots, reused animations.  We don't care..  I have stacks of thousands of robots in the station in tellesis just hanging out there.  We need something different!  This same things applys with uping a T5 class thats linear progression with maybe some negative stat modifications.  Something to put Veterans in the field mining, producing, moving assists.

Step Three.

QoL items for your playerbase.  Gamma needs less NPCs.  And more semi afkish things the community can take advantage of.  Like deployable mining towers that the players fuel themselves.  So we can spend more time doing LESS GRINDY BULLSHIT.

I've started back playing WoW full time again.  And you know what a massive developer did?  Instead of trying to speed up the grind they push people to end game content where they can be raiding/pvping in under a week.

I should be able to buy 2 million EP for $100 if I want too in this game.  Or spend $50 for a black robot.

Your moving to Themepark dynamics, it's time to get the yellow ! over npcs.

I like it!  Good job guys.

I would like to correct one thing.  Your EP is not the most valuable currency.  Because at some point you reach a point where your skills are maximized.  And since scaling on robot bonuses happened.  It's not worth the 2 extra points in level 9/10 skills.  Some may disagree but at the state of game, I don't really care.

New players can run heavy mechs day one.  See the post about Mroq

Less players = more proffit lol
I hope there won't be any news this month so i'll get a black bot and some T4+ stuff lol

Hm, this might be a good time to get friends into game. Too bad none of my friends playing MMOs and i don't want to look stupid telling i'm playing something smile

Exactly what you should do during slow times.

Bro.  The forums are probably the only reason I still play.
