The way the current mechanics work, you can create a new agent and run the tutorial missions in an hour give or take. With the current market, you can literally gross 800k from cashing out the new agent after your done. You then transfer the 800k to your main agent.

That's what 90% of your player has done/did. big_smile

I bet it you SQL queried everyones account you will see all 3 slots taken for all of us...hehe

Fix it to where you can only run the tutorial missions once per account, then patch back in the ability to delete characters for free.

That would work perfect. big_smile

I like this idea.

Keep in mind that EP is account based. Why spend EP on another character just to try out new equipment, why not just spend them simply on your main?

Well the spammers would still have to add all their recipients to their friends list. So it would kinda be a lot of work for them...hehe

If you cannot allow this, perhaps make the bulletins go out as an Email notice to all corp members or something, so they see the mail icon flash or what not notifying them of corp news/updates? Some of my members are lazy...hehe

Bump.

We are now manufacturing the Warpish to all corp members.

J-D corp provides 1/2 the cost to make the Warpish to it's members (all you will need is 80k give or take). Members are required to help provide the materials.

Weekly corp mining runs are in the works so we can strip mine as a corporation, making it easier for members to provide the mats (even if you are not mining spec - just show up in a light bot with 2 miner modules etc).

We have sequer pilots to help haul.

Apply to join our ranks! We will hopefully be heading into the PvP zones soon..
big_smile

Oh, we are also shopping to join an established alliance. Hit me up with PM if you are an alliance leader and are looking to buff you ranks etc.

you have to pick a recipient from your friends list. I do not think you can manually type in any text. If they could just patch a "hold shift" option to select multiple recipients from your friends list I think that would do it. big_smile

Not sure if these suggestion have been mentioned:

1.) only allow 1 tutorial mission per account (this way it's not exploited and would fix the root cause of why the devs patched in 2k EP to delete a character in the first place....)

2.) refund character spent EP to main account pool when that individual character is deleted

This would allow new players to respec.

And it would make veteran players think long and hard about respecing on down the road (because they would have to delete that character (persona/corp configs etc) in order to do so.

asap please.

Last night I wanted to send an Email to all my corporation members since they are notified by a flashing icon on login they have mail (versus nothing at all if I post a new corp bulletin).

I noticed I can only send an email to one person at a time from my friends list.

A good patch would be to allow multiple recipients.

Thanks,

Zoom, I have been playing these onliners for about 12 years. Most of the time, I feel like nothing more than a mindless lab rat consumer with no access/social venues to any of the people in charge of creating the virtual worlds.

You and your team are by far some of the best I have run into in that matter. Regardless of the outcome on this topic - keep posting, keep showing yourselves in game, giving your opinions, as a player and as a dev. You are the first among your kind to even do that, and it REALLY shines. Pioneers.

All PvP'ers are asking for the change, not just pirates. Your suppose to have a risk versus reward system regardless, if you PvP for sport or what have you. This is not that system with such an exploitable tactic.....it's all risk. sad

In eve online people are known to self destruct their ships. Mind you it does have a 30 second timer.

120 second timer on self destruct. And that only destroys the ship, not the cargo. As stated the only reason someone would do that is to deny the attacker the kill stats. And trust me, RARELY 120 seconds will expire before the pilot dies to PvP....

I would like another devs response to this thread. If word of mouth was to circulate that players can "instantly delete their cargo" in this game, it would be horrible press for pvp'ers that are currently interested....because no other open pvp ruleset on the market supports such a lame and exploitable tactic....

Its a sandbox. At least its suppose to be. If I drop a Seq and its cargo falls to the ground, guess what, I just created a LARGE amount of sand. Now I have to pull in reinforcements to haul the cargo out, while he/she has to try to bring reinforcements back before mine arrive to retrieve the cargo, etc.

By deleting it, your exploiting that sand.
sad

Ok what if I kill other bots and they destroy their cargo? Mechs, what have you not. It's the same exploit.

You cannot do this in EvE or Darkfall. If EvE you jettison the cargo out into space. In Darkfall they implemented timers on item deletion from personal bags (cargo). It was exploited in that game and they fixed/patched it within the first few weeks of release.

It's lame. And its an exploit.

Vorgrim:apart from the fact that real life references are always flawed since this is a game, can you tell me what exactly are you risking here if you kill a defenseless sequer? (Being in a PvP area doesn't count, it is not specific to this case).

Yes it is. It's exactly specific to this case because a PvP area is the only place where this exploit is happening.

It does not apply to the PvE areas. My suggestions had nothing to do with those areas.

Once your player base realizes they can simply right click and destroy their cargo before death it's going make the PvP zones even more baron. You might as well fix/patch it now man before it really affects the game....

Neoxx wrote:

Maybe now that you posted a thread about it more people will start deleting their cargo before they die.  And for that, we thank you.

So you now agree it's an exploit. hehe
big_smile

Your missing my point....you sold me on a game where its open pvp and looting. By allowing players to delete their cargo before death its no longer looting.
sad

I want to role play robin hood and take a squad into enemy territory searching for enemy Sequer hauling goods....I want to be able to destroy and loot the cargo...but game mechanics allow me not to if the pilot knows he can simply insta-delete it.

No other sandbox pvp game works like that.
sad

So what are the "risks and rewards" involved if someone can destroy their cargo before being killed? If I risk my *** going into an un-allied territory, take out a Sequer who deleted all his cargo because he knew he would die, how does that make the game any rewarding for me? It's all risk at that point...seems like an exploit...he is deleting his cargo because he knows he is going to die.....

Had the same exploit in Darkfall. They patched it as a timer and it worked great. It's easy to do that way. No need to over engineer it.

I really like your range suggestion. That sounds very good.

But we need something fast and easy right now to fix whats happening.

1.) Implement client side timer on "Destroying" Items from personal cargo. Players are deleting loot before dying in PvP. This needs patched asap. Add a client side timer of 30 seconds pehaps for each item right clicked and "Destroyed". After the 30 second timer, if the item is still there (and agent robot not dead etc), run the existing deletion routine via your existing code server side.

2.) Decrease the range on the Landmarks window. WAY too overpowered atm. You have people running alternate accounts that are able to spread themselves out and exploit the long range of the landmarks window to spot incoming enemy etc. Tracking players should derive off a player skill model - like probing in EvE. For now though, as a simple fix, just decrease the distance. I am hoping that would be a simple config setting in the code, or if it's a hard coded value, you can simple change it.

These 2 changes are easy, and would help a TON right now.

Thanks!

Judging by the responses I've got in this thread it's pretty obvious that certain people missed the fact that this is a SANDBOX game not WoW where they hold your hand and give you everything just for logging on and everyone is treated like whining children.

Sure my advice with the EP is terrible for a new player BUT it is one thing you can do to beat the 50kers. Like I said if your not willing to use your head, and think creatively to find a solution to your problem then your going to fail miserably at this game.

I'll give you another freebie solution to your problem why don't you try *gasp* something other than solo grinding level 1 combat missions.

There is no "sand" in L2 areas man.....lol
