I figured this thread could be used for player suggestions on ways to suck our wallets dry without being gay about it.

I have two suggestions:

First suggestion revolves around terminal backgrounds and shouldn't be that hard.

Just make a garage type terminal where the bot is rendered, rather than wire frames.  Make a background theme per NPC faction.  Then add the ability to add stuff to it, like a deco flag with corp logo ect.

Second suggestion a purchasable skill that could be used to harvest slain players for their robot core.  This robot core would have the dead players name attached and will function as a trophy.  This could tie into making a public player "room" that others could enter and such pvp trophies could be displayed.  Yes robot housing sort of, I went there.

These would be ways to add money sucking stuff to the game with having zero effect on the actual game play.

So think perhaps $20 for a special terminal that would be applied to all terminals entered by the player.

Then perhaps you could sell robot core extraction charges for maybe $1 each in packs.

Even further would be deco *** that could be used to decorate terminals and the trophy rooms beyond collectable items.

words are hard....

too many words....

100% disagree with whatever position and or idea is contained within these words.

on the steam store page is a countdown in hours for the game going live, which is a bit easier than converting time zones

the green box between the light blue crap has the countdown.

well they could take out those rare drop PL and quest variant ores from alpha, then make them used in production (not refined) and think of some other way to do mining missions other than farming up some of those mission based ores that can be refined.

I like the concept of rare ores being found in ore fields, however perhaps putting those only in beta, and in much higher frequency on gamma, would give good cause to have noobies farming the safe alpha for build ore, and then do structured mining ops on beta and gamma to farm up required rare ores.

That's the problem with basic ores being on all islands, having two safe islands, having infinite ores on all island...

Theres no point not to farm on alpha...even if you brought back roaming mobs...red ones...and figured out how to make them non exploitable...alpha is the best spot for basic ores because theres only one tier of ores...

Something small like creating various tiers of ore of each type would be cause to want to go mine titan on beta or gamma if it meant slightly better preforming results from producing with them.

Perhaps its time for MK3 bots and T5 mods....make the high tier require collixium, and rare ores.  Keep them all out of alpha.

Added benefit if people...the big miners...stayed in gamma and beta for epi/collixium/rare ores....there would be good market buy orders for noobs trying to get into the game via farming basic ores on alpha.

I want a mobile gamma base bot.

Think Command and Conquer with mobile construction yard.

Make it a bigass glider.  When it deploys it will grow into a small terminal with minimal defenses (few damage turrets and a few ewar turrets) which would take maybe an hour to deploy.  Nothing more than a few turrets on the terminal and a terminal.

Make them cheap (compared to building a gamma base) and make them reusable.

This would allow smaller corps to have a lower risk method to make a gamma base, it would allow for forward attack bases, or add a defensive layer from which to undock defenders.

And yes....the game is in need of a tanky large transporter. 5000U hauler, slow as ***, not made of paper.

Meh, go back to the old terraforming.

Create a new class of siege bots that can tunnel through terraformed ground quickly and destroy any objects or structures placed on that ground.  Think some new bot that when an active module is run will flatten terraformed land to a flat plain without targeting anything, just as an aoe aura...done quickly to negate 15hr terraform sieges.

Then create a buildable wall structure system.  My thoughts involve wall turret structures with a ramp for light mechs to climb, must be placed XXX distance from other wall turrets, when powered an energy shield forms between the wall pieces creating a wall that cant be sieged from above mentioned digger bots.

With this you have the ability to get creative with terraforming, the means to quickly dig through it via siege bots and wreck placed structures on the terraformed ground, as well as a means to build legit and decent looking walls with functional ramps for defense.

IMO this is better than taking away content (terraforming plans) as a means to negate the OP nature of terraforming, which is just going to be exploited in another manner.  At least if the above mentioned stuff can be exploited we have content, more bots, and variety to play with..

Seeing gamma is being wiped, why don't we do the same for Beta.
Move all the gear back to alpha, same as with the Gamma wipe.
Reset station stability to zero.

Let the scramble begin. Instant PvP on steam launch.
Give the Steamlings something to watch, and at least the chance of a station that's not coveted by the vets.

Since you seem unfamiliar with the situation, and no ones has done the whole "break out the sock puppets and dumb it down" thing.

Gamma is getting wiped to remove "terraforming gone wild" and restore some sort of terraforming order to that content.

Wiping beta wouldn't do anything other than inconvenience a few players by forcing them to potentially do the worst content in game (specimen saps)  within a few days the beta map would look just the same as it does now...basically there is nothing to wipe on beta.

There would be no scramble.  Whatever was taken during some noob/one man scrambles would be reversed next sap once it became known.

its amazing the outcry from the games largest corporation regarding the fact that they wont be able to run when confronted.

really its shocking.

well maybe not shocking...I do remember long ago a couple of these people choosing to kill eachother rather than fight the oncoming enemy forces.

serious question though...did you guys actually enjoy pvp of this games past where you just ninja gank afk miners then port out before back up arrives?  Do you guys not want large scale battles...you know the stuff that keeps people playing?

Also want to point out the best fight happen when you are outnumbered and win....nothing boosts morale more than that....which was 100% impossible with an enemy that runs on instinct rather then engage...

This beacon fix might be the end of STC, however it will allow whatever corporation that fills your shoes to enjoy fun, large battles moving forward...which is good for the games health.

well I guess it depends if zoom wants the games pvp to be focused around ganking semi-afk miners

or large scale warfare

removing the beacons as an option to escape seems to point towards the larger, tactical battles...vs trying to snipe a miner or two then running before help can arrive...

question is...do you think new players would enjoy surgical ninja pvp more or less than rolling with an army for an epic battle?

or you could...I dunno....recruit people, grow your battle fleet, come prepared, and actually fight...

did you ever consider actually fighting?

or is it when you see a few CIR/PHM you automatically assume we have 300 Spartans and flee...

call us the blob all you want, you know how many we have, you are a very large corporation capable of producing just as many people, and you have access to recruit chat and the ability to grow as we are doing. I shouldnt have to tell the largest corp in game this...
