Yes this please

Also maybe being able to split remaining ammo amongst weapons easily

edit: And weapons not cancelling a reload cycle just because the target is destroyed

Hang on, what's all this talk of plasma drops being nerfed for new players?
I consider myself a new player, barely 2 months old and I've found my income has DOUBLED since the patch...

Taken from http://www.perpetuum-online.com/Changelog:2011-08-25

Change: Rebalanced NPC plasma drops: the set amount of plasma in loot now follows more closely the time it takes to kill a specific NPC.

Means some fast to kill high tier NPC drob less Plasma then before (EW-lights and EW-Mech NPC are effected most espezialy if they drob/use LWF).

But in the same patch random-spawns are included which are fun and lucrativ smile.

I know there's been a change, why are people calling it a nerf? If anything it's been a boost to plasma drops for anybody not shooting T2L in a stabbed mesmer

yeh, I hate it atm. Almost impossible to actually get any of this ammo.
I like the CT idea someone mentioned on the last page

You can just do the combat missions to get ammo rewards...

Only light ammo, not medium.

huh?
lvl4+ missions give medium...

if you can get one and drive one - and afford to lose it - nothing speaks against using one.
question is: do you have access to one as trial?

I see them available but I cant afford it.  Im just planning my ep around using an assault with medium weapons.  In the other game I flew battlecruisers primarily (cyclone being my favorite) so Im trying to find something similar

Use small weapons, like in EVE, you'll want to match the weapon size with the ship bonus, you wouldn't try and run a 1400mm arty cane ^^

imo there isn't really anything wrong with mission difficulty. I started running mish when I joined up to the game and had progressed to lvl 3 within a week. Within another week the lvl 3 mish had become a breeze.
'The people here complaining about lvl 2 being nigh-on impossible really should try again after accumulating EP for a few days.

I totally agree that the rewards are pathetic, and farming is gonna be a better option 99 times out of 100

EVE does indeed have a warning when your price is drastically different from other offers in the region

I've made this mistake before as well, luckily I'm usually awake enough to realise.

It's simply an issue of the fields for amount and price are in reverse order to how a person would normally expect them to be, so mistakes get made.

I'd also like to add that you shouldn't buy from any sellers that undercut my price (2mil arbalests, it's a bargain!), because they're nothing but filthy market weasels and exploiters and probably child molesters.

I totally agree, the 'corp only' mentality is crippling to a new player.
Sure, *some* stuff you can find pretty easily, other things are nigh-on impossible to find. I invite you to try and buy a T4 ERP, t1 medium aux accumulator, various T4 nexus modules, medium UDC or magnedart ammo, or *any* evasive module above tech 1. Those are just off the top of my head
You will be waiting for weeks to find some of these items, if you manage to find them at all.

And the answer to new players is what, wait for an indefinate period of time until a hypothetical independant producer decides to build the specific module they desperately need?
Or is it intended game design that players have to periodically join up to megacorps, raid them for items, and leave afterwards?

Oh wait, I get it. You're supposed to open a second account and eat kernels for 6 months so you can build the items yourself, that's a fantastic selling point for the game. Sure to have players signing up in droves eager to enjoy some of that action.

This whole, "Oh we don't want to sell guns to our competition because we can have an edge on them" is downright naive. News flash: Your enemies are producing their own T4 gear, they don't *need* to buy yours. The only effect your closed market has is frustrating the almighty god out of any independant or new player. You and your competition still pewpew each other with T4 gear regardless of your corps closed market.

Kick closed corp markets out the door tbh, and watch new players stick around instead of leaving due to a barely breathing economy

robotspeed = base*navigationbonus *[Basemass + SUM(modulemass)]/[BaseMass*LWF] * speednexus * Demob + highwaybuff

take as example:
MK1 = 20tons,
MK2 = 50tons
30% lwf

x * 20/(20*0.3) = x * 1/0.3
y * 50/(50*0.3) = x * 1/0.3

on an empty robot, the base-mass does not matter at all

Ahaaa, yeh so it sorta does work like power to weight ratio.
Alright thanks for clearing that up, close thread please mods

More mass means that the fittings have less impact on the final speed.

Edit: an empty bot misses the point of having greater mass, but that there shows its' better, heavier but with the same top speed means it has the ability to carry 'more' with less impact to speed.

Ummm, yeh.  I understand that, I don't really see what that has to do with one LWF removing much more mass than the other, but still giving the same speed?

40

(5 replies, posted in Q & A)

Alright so the premise is simple
MKII bots are heavier than MKI bots, they also have the same base speed.
LWF gives a speed increase by decreasing the mass of your bot by a percentage of it's original mass.

Based on this, why does an unfit MK2 bot with an LWF go the same speed as an unfit MK1 bot with an LWF, when it's mass is decreased by a larger amount?

It almost seems that the LWF module is changing the top speed of the bot, rather than it's mass

I'm assuming this is a bug?

edit: herfderf, thought about power to weight ratio's for a minute and then realised this is probably intended game mechanics. Feel free to ignore this thread

I don't know what observers you're talking about, the ones i've seen are like this. They either die and don't respawn, or they die and respawn once, or sometimes, they will die and respawn an extra time. I had a superior observer spawn 50m from me, on my head.

I'm talking about bugged observers that you continually kill for 20+ times with instant-respawns after death. hmm Broken mechanic is broken, but to be honest this feels intended to satisfy the ADD crowd that can't be arsed to grind kernels. Bugs of this magnitude are usually fixed instantly, we're on day 6 after it's been reported.

At least some of us will have plenty of observer-kernels to insta-aquire whatever new modules are added in the game. lol

Dude what are you smoking? Either you're talking bullshit or you (and your corp) is the only one using/knowing of this exploit(?). I've hunted Observers since i started playing ... and it happened only 2 times that another GO spawned the moment i killed one. One more ... not 5, not 20! Hardly a broken mechanic. Have a look at the prices for GO kernels ... higher than ever before. Obviously the market isn't flooded with them.
Do i have to remind you that it was easier to farm them in past? Hint: fixed spawning and artifact scanning mechanisms in terms of observers.

Oh CIR has its research already completed ?? Of course AC should take observers out of game now. CIR = happy = all happy? No.

Afraid of large gangs coming for you in T4 fitted Mechs soon?

Oh man, sorry to say the obs spawns really are going crazy atm, forgot to tell you the other night when you were getting disconnects heh
Me and wey got 4x GO's on the way back from our farming run, they spawned just one after the other, handily enough right in magnedart range big_smile

Doesn't happen with all of them, but sometimes you get a GO that spawns 4-5 times or a SO that respawns straight away. I likes it tongue

Why not increase the range on magnedart say -40% and composite -20%, and as a penalty have 2x AP consumption on magnedart and 1.5x AP consumption on composite?

Yes, I did earn all that solo. It's not hard so long as you don't waste EP trying to get into a mech you can't use properly in your first couple of days.

And yes, it's now t4 fit, I'm sitting on about 30mil NIC, and I've got about 500 t3 kernels stockpiled.

Fail at PvE = Fail at life, it's so simple your slightly *** cousin could do it

You know 500 kernels isn't gonna do you any good but could help our proto right? Who consumed 30k mech kernels in a single day and still isn't done?

Also, pvp, wai I no seez you wit all dem monies.

Doesn't help me? Kernel drops are over 50% of my income...
Besides I'm trying to proto as well, and I can trade my useless green kernels for the blue kernels I actually need.

You'll start seeing me in PvP ops when you arrange one for a time that doesn't cater solely to US players wink

From the throttled logins, comes talk of how players should be compensated.  The devs, I believe, have stated adding subscription time to match the time lost.  I'd go for a increment in EP myself, but it makes me wonder what other fun we can have with dev compensation.

So, how about a companion bot called "Hilmar", made by CCP Corp.  It has no purpose other than to occassionally accept NIC from you.  Every once in awhile, it asks for a big jump in NIC and then makes for the nearest cliff and jumps off, wrecking itself while chatting about this is what you really want.

I see what you did there big_smile big_smile
