I am using IE9 and nothing happens when I click on the image for the "Incident Log" trailer. Neither in normal nor in compatibility mode.

The launch trailer is working though...

Uhm why don't you use Paypal for example? You can pay with your normal bank account, no CC needed at all...

As I am working with several payment providers in my job I can say that Paysafecard is a nice payment method, but only for some few countries accross Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Austria and 2-4 more).
In addition, you have to keep in mind that every payment provider takes "transaction fees" from your money. For PayPal this is roughly 2-3% from each transaction. Compared to Paysafecard (which is about 15% for each transaction) it is obvious why Paysafecard is just too expensive at the current state of marketing. Paysafecard should get attractive after getting a publisher and pushing down the transaction fee for a better Return on Invest (ROI).

I don't want to be picky but is it possible to post a thread in the News and information forum when you post a blog entry?

So users who mainly browse the forums (as I do) will be better notified of those changes.

In my opinion it is not really necessary to remove the trial limitations if the game just gets up enough motivation for new players within the first hours/days of gameplay.

At least for me it is as simple as: Keep me motivated by an interesting (and rewarding) tutorial, visible/noticable(!) progression and I won't miss a copr that much while checking the game during the first days.

But regarding the current state of the game with a huge learning curve, utterly boring and annoying tutorial (you know what I mean when you forget to fetch you data console the first time...), getting lost after the tutorial "hey, what should I do now beside running assignments until my brain melts off?"... there is no motivation to subscribe to this game unless you have a good friend persuading you all day long (which was the case for me) or having a corp supporting newbie players (no NIC, just guidance).

I’m glad about the implementation of the plasma drops. Now fighters don’t need to do transport missions to buy ammo and upgrade their mission robot.

Transport missions still have a much better time vs. NIC value than killing bots that may be killed by a single light/assault bot. So especially as a beginner player (as I am) it is still not worth doing bounty missions or farm 1st stars for NIC while you may get 1 million in an hour doing utterly boring transports... Another reason may be that I do not know where to go to farm higher solo mobs with my light/assault. At least the level 2 missions I get from Cavadria sent me to a bunch of Trojars and whatnots that lock and kill me at a range of 300+

So I am hoping for the performance based assignments to kick me out of that circle of boredom...

You should at least own an Arkhe MK2 and a light robot (for example "Castel" for Truhold-Markson) if you completed all 10 Tutorial Assignments.

The game seems to be something like "Global Agenda vs. Mechwarrior"... first one was pretty much fun though...

Great! Can you upload them as *.ico files (if it is ok for the devs)?

Thanks again for the advice smile

I will first stick to the Baphomet, get some basic skills up that I may use for mechs later on too. As I am a member of a "good" corp with lots of support mech PvP is still my first option smile

Just one more question: If I am aiming for a mech, am I right saying that a mech or even heavy mech is pretty much useless in "all day PvP" but a good option doing intrusions and whatever "base-battle-like" mechanics will get into the game later on?

Being able to buy EP (in ANY way) would destroy the gameplay, at least for me...

Of course there is and always will be a gap in EP between vets and fresh players but in my opinion this is a long term problem and nothing that has to be looked into within the next ~6 months.

In my opinion a simple solution would be to raise the starting EP (20k) per month the game exists by 10-20k EP. As a "real" EP month is roughly 40k EP it won't close the gap completely so the vets will still have an advantage (which they should have!).

Another solution would be to implement something like doubling the EP for new players per minute until they reach a certain amount (let's say 70-80% of the total EP available since launch). But in this case I agree to Arga when he says: "Its best to keep some things simple, and it can't get much simpler than 1 point per minute."

Thanks for your help so far Arga smile

I will check if I can spare some time on sunday to get blown up in a Prometheus wink

Hi huys,

as I don't know where "Player asking Players" questions should be posted I just chose this forum smile

I started playing Perpetuum about one week ago and I spent the past few days about thinking where to go with my primary account.
At the beginning, my plan was to go with lasers using a Baphomet. So I started to get the required extensions for Thelodica assualt bots and light lasers plus navigation 9 (saving EP for 10 now).
After fitting the Baphomet with 2-4 light lasers, one sensor amp, LWF, armor repair I noticed that my speed is something around 70-75 km/h.

So I tried to fit a Prometheus hoping to get a higher speed with a similar fitting (AMP, 2 LL, Rep and LWF). The Prometheus got only 2 more km/h compared to the Baphomet but lost ~300 HP because of its lower base armor. So my conclusion was: Baphomet should be better.

In addition I tried to fit an Intakt with the same fitting getting a speed increase of about 15-20 km/h (I don't remember the exact numbers here). But as far as know as a newbie, Intakt has no bonus to lasers but to EW, so I guess I should not use an Intakt for pew pew lasers smile

As I do not want to spend my EP to get an Artemis checking that one out I feel quite undecided about what to aim for with that account.

Regarding my personal playstyle I would prefer a (high) DPS role which is capable for PvP, because I think I won't be that good in EW (tackling etc.).
To help me making a decision I want to ask you for any experience with the above mentioned topic leading me to the question: Which way should I choose regarding bots? Should I consider a switch to another color (with a better DPS/speed combination)?

Any advice is much apreciated!

Please don't get me wrong, Perpetuum is still a great game for me and I apreciate the work the devs are doing smile

And yes, nobody said what would be in the patch and what won't be in there, so Kristan is absolutely right saying "That's all in you head" smile

DEV Zoom wrote:

The blog only stated that we'll implement these before and around the world expansion patch, not "tomorrow". Don't worry, we'll be having another patch next week too smile

I think we all understood that, but to be honest, my expectations raise after i read the blog post.

The blog post listed a total of ~11 (major) features and there was a hint that you plan to bring 1-2 smaller patches live before the map expansions hitting the servers.
So I expected at least 3-4 features of this list to come with today's patch and the rest with the second patch sometime later... In fact the patch covered just 1 single feature. That's the reason why I feel somewhat disappointed now.

/Edit for Gargaj:
Yes, to revive the dead areas. So would you say that the "rates" tab will be responsible for reviving the market in Perpetuum? wink

Such a nice feature list being posted before this patch and the patch itself just introduces a revamp for an area of the game which is quite dead at the moment (the market)...

The info describing bonusses, general values (speed, locking range etc.) and perhaps required extensions.

As some other bots seem to work (for example Intakt), I would like to give you my first feedback:

- display general robot info on single click
- increase height (and if possible width) of the tree view menu
- calculate top speed of the robot (depending on fittings)
- display tooltips on icons (so you know what is meant by them)
- option to view the general info for the selected fitting

I am quite sure that some of the points above are already on your list but I just posted everything whch came to my mind.

In addition, here is another error.
Everytime I "right-click" an empty slot I get this error:

System.NullReferenceException: Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt.
   bei Perpetuum_Fitting_Tool.FittingWindow.showContext(Object sender, DataGridViewCellMouseEventArgs e)

   bei System.Windows.Forms.DataGridView.WndProc(Message& m)

I also get this error when I "right-click" the Syn-tect light armor plate in my leg slot.
