Of course the DEVs need money to keep things up and running, that's (at least for me) not the bad thing about this price increase.

If they would have justified this increase by saying "Guys, to be honest we need some extra money the upcoming months to keep our own plans etc." I wouldn't care at all as I already paid both accounts until november...

But they say that they increase the prices as Perpetuum is reaching a new chapter with the release of this "expansion"... and keeping in mind that they advertised it as a free of charge game expansion it just sounds like pushing a reason in front to make us feel comfortable with it.

OLD
30 days - 8.95 EUR / 9.95 USD*
90 days - 21.95 EUR / 23.95 USD
180 days - 37.95 EUR / 41.95 USD
365 days - 64.95 EUR / 71.95 USD

NEW
30 day code: $9.95 / €8.95
90 day code: $26.95 / €23.95 (~11% discount)
180 day code: $49.95 / €44.95 (~16% discount)
360 day code: $94.95 / €84.95 (~21% discount)

My 2 NIC cents:
As I paid for the next 6 months for my 2 accounts I mainly compare this pricing option and I agree to Crepitus, saying that a ~20% increase is no way justified! For a one year sub it is even > 30%, keeping in mind that they raise the price by 20 € and reduced the playtime by 5 days to 360 days.

In addition, I also agree not to call this patch an expension. If I would be evil minded I would not even call Perpetuum a game in terms of a real MMO (sandbox or not...) as there is not even a single "long term motivation" and there are still at least 6 months of work to do until some major features will be able to "complete" the gameplay of Perpetuum.

But I guess we may talk/discuss this topic but I doubt the DEVs will change the pricing back, honestly I think it is more likely they will increase the prices next time they give us artillery, making it the next "expansion"... Ok I may exaggerate a bit, but this pricing increase (and the so called justification for it) made me disappointed.

Sorry for OT, but that's the reason I will always stay with Windows as for playing games I do not want to deal with scripts that only work for whatever specific specifitaions of this and that...

Anyway... what's the advantage of using your script than using the solution provided by Avatar Creations itself?

This looks just awesome and the patch (expension) includes MANY features I am waiting for so badly smile

Of course the medal is two-sided (dunno if this phrase exists in english wink) and I know that an indie dev's most limited good is time (although it may be money, too smile).

As I know some people working for an independent (browser-)game developer myself, I know what it means to have to keep the community's heads up during a long, thirsty path between major patches. They kind of "outsourced" the effort to post updates a bit as they just pass some basic information (as key notes) to a voluntary community manager and he writes a blog, facebook or forum post about it (with the dev#s rereading it ofc). This allows them to keep the community updated at least once every 2-4 weeks and limits the danger of wasting a dev's time to write text instead of source code smile

Although that does not mean it is 100% applicable to AC as I do not know their staff structures...

A solution could be to colorize the module on your toolbar and on the target window.

For example:
As soon as you use one ECM on target one the module in your headslot gets a light green overlay as the icon in the target window gets the same color highlight. The second ECM will get a light yellow highlight, the third a bluew one etc. etc.

Perhaps not a complete overlay but a colored frame or something like that.

I thinks those codes (H2, C1 etc.) won't be the best solution. We are still playing a game, so displaying an icon like a buff or debuff wherever within the target window should be fine for the players and the devs smile

The icon could be the icon of the module/effect used.

Although I am not playing Perpetuum as long as Arachnix does I am sahring his feelings...

The last "hope awakening" update was at march 28th being a blog post containing information that kept my hope for the future of Perpetuum alive.

After one month passed we can look back on 2 patches not worth mentioning (just my personal opinion) as there is still no assignment revamp, event notification, AoE damage, geoscan folders, spark teleport... and last but not least, no islands.

10 days ago we got a heads up from Calvin saying the date for the next patch will be around 27th of april... last week we got another heads up by Zoom saying there will be a new blog post early this week... Call me a liar but I say: Nothing happened!

So don't get me wrong, I appreciate the hard work the Devs are doing but all I want is some  information on a regular basis and if they are calling out dates they should be more relyable. It doesn't have to be a precise date but just a "we are currently working on [TASK X] and we are doing great so far, look at this screenshot" once a week or two would be great...
Whenever you have nailed down a date for the next update, post it together with the content included within this patch. This should get us a flow of information on a regular schedule we should all be able to live with.

Although I am not a specialist in ewar, I support both, MoBIoS' and Campana's demand for a list of effects applied by myself on whatever target.

IIRC there was a discussion about trial length some days ago and I agree to Campana. The trial is by far too long for the so called "content" a trial player has to explore to. The actual content that may be discovered by a trial player should be known after 2-3 days with about 6-12 hours of total playtime. So reducing the trial length to 7 days should be enough, even if you are not that fast...

I think we all would be satisfied by an official statement in form of a new blog post (even without giving a date for the patch) tongue

The combat log doesn't log the same message multiple times. It's annoying. The same thing happens for each time you miss a target.

It would be nice if the combat log would just log all events and not check to see if the event is already the last entry in the log.

+1 this keeps annoying me as I do not know: Did 2 shots hit the dirt or only 1?

+1 to both of the above postings!

I only know one MMOG that offered a lifetime sub and I think we all know where this game went...

And I don't see how a LTM will get more players to the game... So if I have fun playing this game, I will invite my friends playing it and spread the word of mouth and there is no influence on this whether i pay per [insert timeframe] or paid for a LTM...

The argument having a "core player base" is also worng. I paid for a LTM for LOTRO at the time it was released. As I got bored after 2-3 months I quit playing it and had in mind "Damn, I wasted so much money after being addicted by the beta and now this game is just boring... I will never pay for a LTM again". So at least for me, the "Hey I paid so much for it so I will stay here until I got my LTM out" just did not work...

In addition I don't see a large cash benefit of it. How many active accounts does Perpetuum have at the moment? Regarding the user online graph there may be 600-1000 paid accounts at the moment. Considering that perhaps 1-5% of those currently active accounts would pay for a LTM at the current state of the game (or in 2-3 months ahead), this would be 1.200$ to 6.000$ (taking 800 active accounts as it's the middle of my numbers).
So I don't believe that there would be a big cash flow increase just because of offering LTM...

+1 and another +1 for my alt, too lazy to log it in big_smile
