Aight I'll give it a shot

- The speed penalty for equipping plates is too low (heavy with 4 plates+frame, immune to demob with 12k armor but going 85-95 easy for example)
- The Neut/ECM tunings were the root of the problem (25% buff for FREE) that resulted in Ictus and Zenith/Vaga getting gutted (why would I bother spending a minute neuting or RNG ewaring someone when I can jump in a heavy with 4 plates & frame and short-range guns?)
- There is no drawback to stacking weapon tunings (why bother with anything when I can max-tune short-range guns and run into people?)
- Waspish is worthless because even without any plates its slower then arbalest (racial enemy!), range is ~equal (vs racial enemy!), the shield tank is laughable at best (as an arb pilot I've 2-shot wasps), and as a natural 'kiter' with weak but constant dps it's doubly fooked over by the rampart plantlife and general terribility of your terrain-loading.
- Tyrannos is worthless because it's a shield tanker and shields are obliterated by tuningstacking
- Gropho is worthless because it's a shield tanker and hits like a wet noodle plus obliterated by tuningstacking
- Ictus can be renamed to right-click-recycle because it's cute recharge bonus works great when fighting bots that stack tunings and magnedart people in the balls + doesn't neut for anything relevant
- Zenith barely reaches 600-700m with suppression with nexus, when there's a tuningstacked heavy going in the 100's towards it those 600-700m's melt down to DEAD pretty fast
- Vaga completely countered by 1 ECCM on Mechs (ergo immune to demob, ewar, nobody is dumb enough to neut anyway)

On racial balance;
Waspish is weakest because Arbalest is unstoppable.
Artemis is strongest because Gropho (natural enemy) is weakest so nobody fields it.
Seth is strongest because Gropho is terrible (Gropho can either shoot like a noodle and no tank, or tank like an Ictus and throw popcorn at people for DPS - all other heavies can boost tank & DPS EQUALLY)

Alternatives like Bapho/Kain/Mesmer are possible, but why go for average when you can go for min-max?

TL;DR

You "balanced" the game into weaptuning stacked mechs and heavies with 3-4 plates + frame, all other playstyles are invalid.

The pain-free solution would be to roll back the patch, identify whose feedback led to this terribility that happened to Ictus/Zenith/Vaga, and address the real source of the problem.

THE GODDAMN ECM/ENWAR TUNINGS.

While Ville isn't expressing his frustration in the most productive or mature manner, his frustration is legitimate.

You have not developed ANY actual new content in a very long time and your latest "right thing to do" patch effectively put green account owners in a VERY ugly position where they can either give you 50$ and respec to blue/yellow, or be relegated to castel scouts. Consult the statistics on sequer.nl for the past 5 months, notice the difference in REALITY, instead of "boohoo blackwhite panic" excuses to write off facts.

Of course the development of Perpetuum isn't (and shouldn't be) a democracy. It also isn't the only non-democracy on the block and contrary to the evident belief that somehow playing the game equates to being responsible for the success of the game. OUR success as players in-game is measured differently then YOUR success as a developer.

Player success is measured here: http://killboard.sequer.nl/
Your success is measured here: http://steamcharts.com/app/223410#3m

So while Ville isn't being very mature or constructive when expressing his feelings, that's no excuse for you to be acting like you haven't almost destroyed your own game again for the 3rd time with no new content and bad patches.

Artillery. Energy credit. Hybrid bots. Walkers. Three sub-types of assault bots. Paint jobs. And those are just the promises I remember off the top of my head.

Both of you need a firm b*tchslap.

When you're playing a game that revolves around YOUR ENTIRE GROUP focusing 1 person in the ENEMY GROUP, and the developer comes in and says this:

"You need to understand that it's bad gameplay to shut down someone's accumulator in a few seconds without being able to do anything. We're trying to move away from these extremities, and this also applies for ECM"

Then it's a pointless discussion. It doesn't matter if it's 10 seths, 10 ictus, 10 zeniths or 10 whatevers - when they focus 1 dude he will be dead/neuted/ewared in a few seconds.

Ergo waste of time. smile

Probably because they're aware there's bots running 24/7 on Alpha and for some reason this is supposed to inconvenience the botters. big_smile

Lets be honest, all green & missile & enwar extensions should probably be reimbursed because green bots have for all intents and purposes been deleted from the game.

Green bots are deleted from the game for all intents and purposes. lol

Calm down Bobo, it has mixed reviews it's already "nuked" for all intents and purposes.

I'd love to have my detection EP reimbursed.

Unfortunately it won't happen.

So what are you actually talking about?

While I sympathize, I'm not sure I can warrant making that much effort.

Poor Ictus got deleted from game last time, gonna be fun to see which bot goes next. big_smile

You're rebounding into fanboydom like a crack ho Ville.

Having a station named after your broken dreams doesn't count.

Antimage.

I'm saying a kid on the shortbus with a crash helmet could do a better job.

What did the community say after Gamma was wiped? Take your time and do it right.

So they took their sweet time, bout 6 months or something, to the point where a lot of people were complaining about it already. Then finally it was released (despite a lot of us warning them to test it more), and what did we get?

- Epriton on Gamma for ~2 months (they had no clue because nobody told them)
- Docking in destroyed terminals (that must have been hard to test)
- Ore fields out in the ocean (now that's interesting)
- NPCs that ignore walls, get bugged out on TPs and just stand there like there's no AI
- Facilities eating money like 2 years ago
- etc etc

Here's a freebie example of stupidity - you nerf 20% damage of all robots, but you don't touch repairers & turrets & boosters on Gamma.

Then homeboy complains how his feelings are hurt when we clearly say "We know better, you don't know sh*t". But it's the damn truth confirmed patch after patch fiasco after fiasco. Naturally, it's always someone elses fault and unfair to compare 5 poor indy devs to 1 poor indy dev... lol

Why would it be an anti-player patch, why would they want their own game to fail?

They don't consciously want their own game to fail.

This patch wasn't tested. There wasn't a discussion about it. There wasn't any feedback about it.

Now remember - they don't have a clue on how the game is actually played.

Cmon you've seen them pull the same "we-know-better-then-you" how many times over the years... Are you really surprised it's a balancing fiasco? lol

Sounds like a server coalition #4 in the wraps amirite

You want a logical sensible explanation for an anti-player patch? lol

Don't bother, wait 6-8 months they'll do another "rebalance" and then pelistal will be ungodly strong, even more then before.

I agree they don't think.

Zoom doesn't develop the game along the lines of what would be better or more sensible, he develops it along the lines of "how can newbies on alpha compete against evil vets on beta/gamma who want tot destroy my game", meaning everything on beta/gamma got nerfed and is worthless so nobody bothers playing for much longer once they figure out macroing liquizit or botting spawns on alpha is the end-game.

Sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy. lol

I want you *** to know, I got fussed at Twice for sitting on a passive SAP on a green/yellow island that was at 100.  You lazy hobos need to undock and play, but, if you choose not too, I'm sure NSE and that one rad dude will take all the stations.

I was encouraging you to take it because it would have spawned at least 2 threads of QQ

Why am I not suprised you incompetent hobos are begging the devs to flip the stations for you instead of actually going there and doing it yourselves?

I think you're projecting your own desires on to me. I couldn't think of a worse job then to work with Zoom on something, even worse that it would probably be some volunteer bullsh*t because they can't pay anything besides happy thoughts and in-game credits.

Goes without saying that pretty much anyone (except Anni) with any track record in-game could do a better job then Zoom though.

@ Burial

If people are having fun playing, then time isn't wasted - because that's the whole point for us as players. For Zoom & co. if the game goes belly up they probably won't hurt too much either, it's pretty clear they got actual jobs and this is a spare-time project for them.
