New players will never get to the stage where PoE dominance will be an issue.  New players are bored long before that point, so they just leave.

I moved to Alsbale from day one and the constant danger made otherwise dull PVE grind fascinating. When I got killed I was happy since I experienced something powerful and me living there provided content for others. If more newbies had a chance of experiencing something similar they might not get bored that easily.

So there is 14 people in general chat.  With the 5 people in NSE 3 in PHM (5 actually...***.) so that's 8.  With 14 in general chat.  So that's 8/14 so that's 57% of the population is actively playing on Beta!  That's over half!  Better than most MMOs I know % wise.  Hell Beastmode even OTHERS is actively using Beta islands.  There is a whole other group(PUN INTENDED) using beta's and not crying about given free stuff, those dudes actually earn it and don't piss and moan while getting it done!  It's only YOU and your immediate Corp that want game manipulation by the developers.  Sad really..

Could argue the reason we have 10 players online is because of the poor Beta ownership mechanics. I know we'd play more if more sides could co-exist on Betas and I know many from your side would log in more if the game had more PVP.

People still live and breathe on Beta, like they did 5 years ago.

Just not you and your people anymore.

So we are three months down the line from this and if anything the game has got worse. Does anyone think the next three months will be different?

It usually does worse whenever I think it couldn't possibly do any worse. Going to need an ocean basin for fanboy tears when they realize everything is not fine.

Couldn't we have beacons AND anomalies?

Why would you do anomalies if you had beacons? Anomalies as an idea are not bad (although the 'bring a beacon' aspect of it is dumb). As always its the reward that sucks.

If an anomaly paid a hundred million and took 3 - 5 guys 40 minutes popping randomly every 4 hours per island on Beta then people would do them and PvP would happen. As it is currently you would make a LOT more money chasing active hacks.

I didn't really read much into it, but just from variety's sake 2 is better than 1. Beacons could be beacons with removed NPC aoe damage and anomalies could be the PVE world event.

Couldn't we have beacons AND anomalies?

Zoom's already made it clear they won't be shutting down, so the only realistic step forward is small tweaks..

They need to go crazy and try something they couldn't with bigger population that might have an effect.

Are those the good ideas that'll save the game?

They've been trying to do the organic growth for 5 years and the game is still dead. What's going to make the coming years any different?

Once games like Albion/Das Tal/Crowfall/Repopulation are out and there's still 10 people online, it's safe to say they had their chance, missed it 5 times over and nothing they do can change anything.

Sandboxes are the new themeparks and there's new ones popping up quarterly.

Does the truth trigger your fee-fees?

The irony is choking me.

I think your little complete disregard for others statement is quite skewed.  I would imagine it would be because you have no idea who I am or what I do on the back end for corporations of player alliances.  Or you think that my posts on "Buff the noobs" is centered around making veterans better, which is quite the opposite.  I have years vested here that I don't want to walk away from because I like the community of players.  These forums are the only video game forums I frequent.  I like these forums quite a bit too.  Because the community.

Buh-hu. Your side has knowingly and deliberately pushed people away from the game with all of the griefing and *** you've done. I don't feel bad for you. We told you for years that even if something is mechanically possible is no reason to do it.

For years you play with complete disregard for others and now you write that. That's rich.

I guess.. everything is not fine.

They need to bring back roaming PVP too not barricade people even further behind defenses. Roaming PVP is the casual PVP type. Casual players want to hop into a bot, go to Beta and kill or die trying. Do a real bot and equipment rebalance, remove proximity probes under the teleports and fix those annoying scouts sitting under teleports.

Focusing solely on SAP warfare is bound to fail. People go there to win or don't go at all. Noone is going to merely test the surface with a couple billion worth of assets.

There is absolutely no point in doing a wipe when Zoom is sticking his fingers in his ears and shouting la la la rather than preventing people from just finding something else and doing it again.

If they ever got some robust tracking in place and a real EULA that dealt with miscreants then a wipe would be the best thing they could do.

It's not only about tracking the volumes, it's about creating a setting where assets get reliably removed from the game. The killboards have looked terrible for most of the game and no surprise assets are bulking up.
