No.  The lack of producers and the fact there's literally been 20 dudes playing for the past year is why we don't have a market.

There are loads of producers, I'm one of them, but if you can make a billion nic a day doing missions why would I sell goods on the market? What do I need the nic for?

Yup, it's pretty foolish to sell anything when only things you really need NIC for is teleport beacons and some minor fees here and there.

This is what I'm currently working on btw.

I think Zoom thinks 'everything is fine' anyway. Wasted breath.

That's unfortunate. But I'm not surprised.

NIC needs to be removed from the circulation at a similar rate it's added, somehow. When the system rewards someone 1 million, it should claim the 1 million back somewhere else.

Back with broken beacons, we had terraforming charges that were expensive as *** and only way to get them was for NIC.

Why can't we place them near TPs anymore? big_smile

Sorry, I don't even have time for DOTA right now. sad

Aye Pod, I'd never move any of my stuff into an outpost someone can lock on a whim.

I still don't see how open stations would benefit anyone but the gate/station game player.  I still think you want to just play station dock/undock games and gank new, unlucky or inattentive players.
I still don't see the demand for it, I have sat in TMB, ABT and I don't see new players (or anyone much) running around there.

You cant effectively live out of a beta terminal because its too easy to scout and you just get ganked. This problem would exist in any open terminal, your right. The balance to that is you would have to do it to 4 terminals on three beta islands. The best you could do is target an individual station or two.

The advantages on the other hand are:

Beta industry is possible for smaller / underpowered corps. Without the risk of station locking you can move CT’s and your mineral stocks

Under siege corps can pick their fights (more vulnerable to gank / less vulnerable to eviction)

You don’t need to either bend the knee or join the winning coalition to have a station – you just need to be able to control the territory. This encourages emergent gameplay, the breaking of coalitions and multi faction warfare

Visitors have a place to dock and operate from without the need to ‘own’ somewhere

There is a clear progression of ownership – Beta 2 becomes important if corps want station locking

All stations become important – the need to defend and then lock causes a lot of empty stations that nobody uses – and sometimes whole empty islands

Full ownership is no longer possible – the best you can hope for is to control the territory.

Just do it.

Flagging has been suggested in a lot of similar threads.

I wonder why they changed it, I thought it was pretty much on par with the new assignments rewards. Anyone knows what's the approx NIC/h on Gamma nowadays?

AFAIK they only changed the scanning mechanics not the actual drops, but I could be wrong.

I have the opposite problem. After a week of scanning I have found nearly 100 sites that have produced a cortex and maybe 2 that have produced a mk2 ct. Ill have to research and get exact numbers. Does anyone know if the loot table is tied to the player or the island/zone?

It's hit and miss. I remember having a 3-day stretch where I got dozens of CT-s followed by a long pause where I got none. I'm pretty sure it's all just a random noise and the emerging patterns are meaningless.

I remember testing blowing up legit plated heavies and got explosion damages around the same ballpark myself. They most likely are using the same explosion damage formula all around, and like Beast said, what you blew up just happened to be plated.

But yes, it's too much if they hump you like a horny dog.

Jita wrote:

The problem is lwf only fits are demobbed by a castel mk2 to nothing. For this reason everyone double plates everything. Balance demobs rather than add a bandaid on a broken mechanic.

Yup, stacking 55% demob resistance in practice means demob immunity but anything in a LWF-only fit gets rekt by a demob. Next-level gameplay.

In my opinion, there's nothing really wrong about battles being more about speed, especially since they're going to do the big robot speed balance at one point anyway, however the formula for speed calculation is strange.

1. 50% demob strength against 50% demob resistance makes demob slow the target for 0%.
2. 50% demob strength against -25% demob resistance makes the demob slow the target for 75%.

That's basically polarised from 0 effect to wrecking effect, and regardless of EVERYTHING, highway buff is added on top the end result.. but velo nexus isn't.

Zoom if you could commit to doing a Monthly update even if it was nothing more than a progress report to say, "Hey guys we are 75% done with XXX." Include stats from the killboard such as top corp, top agents etc. Links to any fan generated content etc and always include that flyer from the payment change model. Announce any upcoming sales on steam or ingame. Send that out via email to every registered email and keep doing so until they opt out.

A few days maybe to create a template and then a few hours a month to update and send. This will do loads for this game.

But that's not going to happen.

It's a terrible idea. I don't understand how they don't see it.

Jita wrote:

It very much looks like your going to be releasing absolutely none of this in 2015. I find that terrible even by your own standards. Maybe by some miracle you've done a lot and are going to do a big content patch alongside a steam winter sale but I seriously doubt it.

At this point selling this game as an 'MMO' is tantamount to fraud. Make it FTP already.

Getting some $ is probably the only thing keeping the plug from getting pulled.
