you could say an MMO has 'PvP content'  of which PO has a great deal of and I assume the intention is to discuss the balance between pve and pvp content.

In fact, any Pve content currently implemented into PO eventually pushes you to the beta islands in order to progress (e.g. higher level missions) this means that, even if your a Pve player, you must still learn the rules of PvP in order to survive on the beta island.

Personally I agree with Hemingway, once you start competing directly (as opposed to in-directly) with other human players the predictable patterns of AI becomes mundane.

However a game, no matter how you regard it, is a business which either grows or contracts.  (no business truly 'flat-lines', it does either grow or contract no matter the margin) Generally with MMO's the larger customer base are the pve players therefore it makes sense to implement additional Pve content to attract those customers

Pvp can get stressful by its very nature, so I'm a firm believer that any pvp mmo must have its pve outlets, to relax and regenerate the nerves.

i look forward to seeing if PO continues to push its player base to the pvp 'beta islands' or if it strikes a balance between the two.

In my experience dev's will do what they are gona do regardless.  They cant just stop what they are doing and start fleshing out a good idea.

The things which make devs sit up and pay attention to most is QQ, you look at all the recent changes with PO and they are all nearly in response to negative feedback. *whine* - respec *whine* - arke's *whine* - blobbing  *whine* - *lag*   Not that any of the changes are bad things!  But does go to show that Dev's respond more to complaints than anything.

Besides, any positive idea you put forward is most often trolled.  there is no such things as "community discussion" Its either *be trolled* or *be ignored*

yea, really depends what your fitting for; pvp or pve? In a squad or solo? large squad or small squad? you attacking an island or defending?  Intrusion event or miner gank hunt? Buffer tank or active tank.. there are so many questions need answering.

either way, if its pvp you should consult with your squad leader so that he can organise a theme to the squad.  dont just try and fill every slot or use up all your CPU or reactor, or even try to exploit all your bots bonus's, fitting any bot begins with a plan about your intentions.

More buy/sell orders are really cheap to get.

No doubt.  But when faced with the decision to spend your EP on marketing or being able to shoot faster or whatever.  Most people decide that marketing isnt worth it.  They'd rather save up.

Instinctively players dont realize the power of the market,  however in order to get the economy moving  everyone needs to get involved from day one.

unfortunately I fear that the devs, instinctively dont realize how important this is.  They of course want players to spend their points, or buy a second account for marketing / mining / whatever.

But I urge them to realise that what little benefit they may gain from restricting players default ability to play the market game has a long term damaging effect.
