just sayin.

yes, the secondary alpha isles have better materials, with the most expensive (epritron) being on the beta isles (free pvp).

as far as making ct's, you would need to train research, and prototyping extensions. Then consume (research) as many bot kernels as you can. I've been told it takes around 50k kernels to really tech out one character (not sure if that figure is with research maxed or not). and the only way to get them is by killing npc bots. Of course you can buy them from others, but that will be pretty expensive.

When you have learned a mod or bot 100% in your knowledge base, you go to a terminal and use prototyping to make a prototype that you then reverse engineer to make the ct. standard (T1) stuff is usually better to reverse engineer from buying it off of the market as prototyping is very expensive. Do not reverse engineer any non-standard mods that are not prototypes (T2-T4) it will result in a T1 CT of that mod. Higher tiers must be a prototype to reverse engineer for a CT of that tier.

upon creating a character, there is (or was the last time i did this) a window that pops up before you create a new character warning you of this occurence. And afaik, you only get 1 "free" reset, all others with the same account will deduct ep from your account for doing so.

It's akin to me opening a restaurant and then being surprised when people show up for dinner, knowing I don't have enough food, but seating them anyway.

Perhaps the number of subs should be limited to a number the servers and code can handle and expanded as performance is improved and demand increases? I don't know maybe there isn't simulations that can be run and we are really in the technical equivalent of sticking your finger in the air, or driving till the wheels fall off.

I guess it's more about getting people through the door, hooked and invested, much like the relationship between peddler and fiend.

That comparison wouldn't be quite accurate. As it's a software issue and not hardware, it would be more like opening a restaurant, and the servers seat the customers, knowing what the place can hold and how much they can serve, then having a food delivery not come due to (insert random delivery error here), and the kitchen not advising the front of the house. Thus food is limited, and they make due with what they have, causing chaos and interruptions all along the way for the staff.

Or having one of the cooks get sick and go home as it opens and no one to cover them, causing bottlenecks in the entire process. That one is probrably more accurate.

Might as well just bolt dude. Take the hit and scram. Your account is being compensated when this is all fixed, they don't owe you a refund. If you can't or won't accept that, then there is no help for you. Seeing as you are the only one so far who has had this little issue, it's fairly safe to say you are alone.

I have not asked for a refund ? I was aggreeing with a dude on some of his issues. He was the one who wanted a refund.

Wow, second time I get an insulting respone, guess im not the only one who is a bit touchy over not being able to play. Or is it just how you always act ?

For reasons other than the game not working, this starts to feel like a mistake. One only has to air a little critiscism about how things are handled and you get manhandled in the forums. l o l. Would it help if I said I really like the game ? big_smile

My bad, that wasn't intended for you. It was of course for spawnster. It was a misquote that was completely my fault, and I apologize.

Yeah everyone is lieing to you and everyone just wants to steal your money you poor poor chicken.

EvE Bitter Vet here - not yet a Nex member.

I am getting frustrating when I try to log on, I am thwarted by the population cap.

The good news is that it appears there is a devoted dev team in this game.  This can only be good, so I have to keep telling myself to be patient, and let these guys figure out a solution <while I continue to spam the login button>.

Simultaneously, I ponder the affects of so many EvE players entering the Perpetuum populace.  It's akin to 100K American GI's being stationed at some little backwater town in a 3rd world country.  Our EvE-centric culture will definitely affect the big picture.  I for one want to be a respectful tourist in our new world.

I do have to comment that I don't see PvP here without better mouse/keyboard responsiveness.  I come from the Team Fortress II environment as well as EvE.  The mouse interaction is okay for PvE, but I'm thinking I need to figure out hotkeys (or something) cuz the existing mouse interface is gonna get me killed fast.  In fact, I would call it "completely bogus".  But, I am hoping it's my fault, and that I simply have to learn more about hotkeys and/or other techniques of UI acceleration.  For example: right-click to get context menu - forced to double left click multiple times to invoke action item IF BIG IF the mouse action actually works.  Like I said, I think I'm doing something wrong.

Case study - Firing on NPC - double left click opponent (if lucky, it will primary that target - if unlucky, keep clicking and/or invoke mouse until target primary'ed.  Hit space bar to fire all weapons and/or use mouse to left click individual weapons when space bar function for some reason will not result in all weapons firing.  Like I said, this is okay for PvE, but in PvP = rapid defeat/death/buy new mech.

So far, I do like the environment, but mechanics can be improved greatly IMHO.  Navigation is non-intuitive and really needs work, again, maybe I'm stupid about efficient game mechanics - I'll give this one some more learning curve.  Ability to multitask is good : example - primary a target, lock a secondary target, approach drop container and open while firing on primary - focus automatically goes to formerly secondary target (if secondary target is previously selected)  - one click to primary - space bar to fire - wash, rinse, repeat.  <if the keys/mouse clicks actually work>

kk thks buh-bye

Press R to primary, F to secondary. Hitting 1-whatever(not sure the exact max number) will activate the chassis modules. then ctrl and 1-whatever will do leg modules, and shift and a # being head modules. All which can be remapped in game through the options menu.

If they knew exactly how long it would take, or even an estimate, I'm sure they would tell us. Contrary to your belief, they do read the forums, and they do communicate to the best of their ability.

I know you are just irritated and venting (as a lot are), but they are trying and they do take the community into consideration.

So, how about a companion bot called "Hilmar", made by CCP Corp.  It has no purpose other than to occassionally accept NIC from you.  Every once in awhile, it asks for a big jump in NIC and then makes for the nearest cliff and jumps off, wrecking itself while chatting about this is what you really want.

I will pay in Aurum just to see it.

I'll be glad when all this CCP crap is behind us and I never have to read or hear the word aurum again...  maybe the dev's can make the word a forum bad-word?

I think there is a lvl1 transport quest named "aurum", I think you take a SynSec from asintec alpha to truhold-markson alpha, and get paid.

First of all I'd like to thank the devs for trying their best to resolve the issues that have surfaced as quickly as they can.

I understand the limit that is placed on the amount of concurrent players is a temporary necessary evil. I really don't have a problem with it as it's better to provide a good experience for those that are online and shut some people out. As opposed to providing a poor experience for everyone.

However, I would like it if you would implement a server queue. As it stands the only way to get in is to keep clicking the OK button until you happen to click it at the exact same time someone else leaves the game. I understand you probably don't have the means to do this right away and fixing the problem which makes the limit necessary should take precedence. It would however be advisable to implement it with some future update because stuff like this will happen again if your game grows as big as I hope it does.

Sitting in queue is less than optimal, but at least one can do other stuff while waiting in stead of hammering the OK button.

As has been said before, doing that could take up dev time to fix the problem. If it would, then I'd rather them fix the issue instead of making a queue.

Be aware that you get 1 free reset (atm you still have to delete your character, saw somewhere that they were planning to change this), afterwards it will cost you 2 days ep to do so.

I'm not sure if they (DEV) have stated explicitly or not whether trading NIC for unused codes is legal or not, but I don't see an issue with it. I don't think they need to facilitate the transactions and such for you though. I don't know of it being done, and haven't seen anyone advertising to buy/sell them in game, so I'm not sure this has really been brought up.

In the event you get scammed, I'm sure they will not provide any official support for the situation.

It is my opinion that how they made the timecode system, they had this in mind for the players to do.

I've noticed the background of the terminal "freezing" when I have a couple windows open and I move my mouse over the background. When the mouse stops, it resumes just fine like nothing happened.
