Why not just go back to the idea stated about highways, an area that has a channel of energy that assists travel while in that channel. like from the terminals to the stations.

In another game i play, the free trial accounts have restrictions on them, they are unable to trade stuff to other players but are able to receive stuff, they are unable to use the Auction house(read market) and they are only able to reach a certain level. they are also prohibited from using certain chat channels in game but still have access to the help channel.

I think this is what would be needed to prevent new trial fraud.

Block purchasing from market orders, block the ability to trade too another player, block the ability to join/leave any other channel except help/general, block the ability to use corporate storage or even just block the ability to join a corporation all together. those arkhe bots are pretty much junk and as soon as you get into your main faction bot its a real sense of accomplishment.

In short, the game has all its bases covered as a bare-bones system for a truly phenomenal game.  That bears repeating: it will eventually be a phenomenal game.  Right now Perpetuum is SO bare-bones it seems to have little to drive players to actually play.

I feel addressing these problems would go a long way:

No story in a clearly interesting game world
The Game needs more story line and some way to communicate that to the players, i agree on this point. perhaps like a popup consol that the the syndicate can use to communicate to the player.

The game is getting LESS friendly to new players
Im not sure about this, the starting missions were still avalible for me having never dont them on one of my characters i just made the other day. i was able to get my Mk2 both as well as my starting bot.

  Speaking of speeding it up
I think the speed is alright, i hate how long it takes to travel for some missions but i think this preserves the game world. i have played many games were there was limited fast travel and this game by far does not have it as bad as some of the other ones.

The grind starts immediately (and lasts forever?)
I agree with the new Training missions, i think all of them need the rep reward upped by +7 or 10 in some cases so that you only do the 3 missions from each group combat/logistics/industry and then you have the rep you need to start doing the real missions.

  TL;DR
I think allot of games out there are a big grind and really the skill is already done for you in this game but not the equipment, i think that this is really what players are grinding, the cash reward at low level seems though but on one character you have enough credits to insure your starter bot and progress in the game. i agree that at low level there needs to be some love to help get new players off on the right foot but i also agree that we dont need to over do anything.

BTW, I am also still on my 15 day trial and have decided to sub the game and purchased my 30 days so far.

Hello, im doing some water testing of PO for my guild and was wondering something and had a question to ask for a guild mate:

1) I haven't seen a clear answer on this anywhere but i was wondering, given enough time is a character able to spend all the EP you build up? is there a cap you eventually hit one day and either stop getting EP or just can't spend anymore?

2) Is there anything that fills the need for PvE raiding? I know we have the Random spawns and the Observers that spawn are these basically like the Raid mobs you would have in other games.

2 clients seems to work fine for me.
Default settings with a Q6700 2.6x4 8GB RAM Windows 7 Pro 64Bit ATI 5830 1GB, 7500 rpm 1024GB Sea gate. I have aero enabled i think, but i have a black color background for my desktop, running desktop at 1440x90@60hz

PO is set to the same size as the desktop, lag is normally 200ms lows at 160 and highs of 400 with spikes hitting 2000, some times a 4k spike for just a split second on when im looking at the network pro filer.

I think the total amount of ram is really what counts here.

I checked the fps last night and i was running at about 40-60fps the entire time i was playing on what ever settings the game puts by default. this is with a 2.6 quad core 7500 HDD 8gb ram windows 7 64bit and ati 8530, i haven't noticed any loading issues or problems. i guess i might be spoiled com paired to other games though since PO loads allot faster than most of the other mmo's i have played and with WAY less space.

just fyi for those that might be having issues. but if i start seeing issues ill try the ram disk option with my setup since the game runs pretty smooth.

I read some one suggested that you should be able to sell your account and it should be supported but we all know that will lead to many many bad things.

how ever why couldn't a persons Spark be sold to another agent? after all it is a nano bot and what ever security feature to bind them to there host agent could be undone by the corporate that created them.

just a though.

yes, i really hope they add some sort of PoS to the game that will allow corps to make a footprint on the game.
