You don't need Complex Mechanics for PvE. You can die in PvE by lag or being demobilized. The extra hp's won't help you in either situation. In all other situations you can just run away.
Put those point's into Energy Management as recommended above. Data Processing might need to go higher (mine is 8 to fit the extra accumulator capacity mod)
You need to put points into Your factions robot control, don't see it in the list.
Invest some points in sensor connection. You will be equipping the mod it benefits.

For every 3 characters that screw up in the beginning, 1 will buy a new account and 2 will just quit. Pulling figures out of the air but sounds about right.
Take Eve for example. You get 1 extra attribute respec for new characters and can change them once per year. The changing once per year is a seperate topic (which I hope will be implemented in PO too) but it's the extra respec thats important. If you screw up you get the chance to change it.
What with all the flop mmo's and multitutude of cra p f2p games on the market these days, people don't have the time nor inclination to do their homework on any given game. They just jump in and suck it and see.
If not an EP reset at least give an attribute reset.
I did not screw up at all, btw. Just banging the drum for the inevitables that will, given the n00b unfriendly character creation and firearms EP out-to-get-ya trick.

I'm 40. What you going on about? If you mean the beating people to locks bit, well, it isn't very pleasant but there's no alternative.
Also, just found out about Sensor Connection. Get that to 5 before Accelerated Target Locking to 6

You can earn decent money just farming the bots near the station. Move a little bit out, don't do the ones involved with the tutorial missions.
Don't kill the ones called "Drone" but kill the ones called Nuim drone or Pest drone (whatever the faction is you are killing). And don't kill the ones that drop the bullets move a little bit more out and they will drop faction ammo (slugs, missiles or cells)
Take 1000 ammo when you set off and dont stop till you have used it all up.
Just collect the ammo they drop and the kernals and destroy all the rest. Sell the ammo and kernels. This will get you about 400,000 NIC and you can do it in 3/4hr.
Put at least 5 levels in the fast lock skill (forget name) and equip the mod that makes you lock faster (sensor something), if you still get beaten to locks get the fast lock skill to 6. Be locking the next mob as soon as it appears whilst you are killing your current mob. Bit moody but wot can you do.

Can minimise from Perp but can't get back in by:
Clicking on the task bar tab (non-responsive) but something is going on as there's an hour glass and it's flickering a bit
I brought up Cntr-Alt-Del and did the usual things like Bring to Front, Minimise then Maximise etc to no avail
Only way out is to hard close Perp in the Cntr-Alt-Del window and start again and remember not to minimise
