So why all the QQ?

Hm....I see Kent lost well over 800 mill of NIC...sucks to be you.

Funny the DEV's do one thing and it still not right...can't we just be happy with the API KB and move on?

now make it so that they get synched with a delay

I think his site says it syncs once every minute.

A 1 Min delay is ok with Me....Not like its a big secret anyways.

Could you not drop a beacon on the wall and shoot the rats that spawn on the other side?

Alternatively do the same with something else deployable

Basically all of your responses have come down to...quick throw NIC at it.
ALL of your solutions COST more then what the wall is worth.

As it is now small scale PVP is dead, not just kinda dead, its COMPLETELY dead.

All that we have now is blob's running around attacking other blob's, if one blob see's the other blob, they just dock up and play it safe.

The market implications of this you will be seeing as well.  Epi will crash, and I predict to be under 5 NIC PU very soon.

Are walls a bad thing?  Well you get what you pay for, Walls have made this game extremely small, I'm talking less then half the space we originally had.

This isn't a good thing, its very similar to what EVE did, and DIDN'T fix.  But I digress.

Wow, some of the arguements and accusations of lazyness here is just epic.

What involves more effort here:

A) 1 time spamming of walls, with occasional review for punctures, making it almost impossible for anyone to get beyond immediate entry to an island, with probes at strategic locations that ping everytime a hostile gets near it

B) Constantly having scouts out, or detectors, and a ready defense force to respond to any incusion of hostiles on the island in question, and having to pay attention the whole time you are out doing any activity on beta?

It's astonding that so many who in the past claimed to be pvpers and want to have "good fights" now want to hide behind walls and be totally safe, with no risk, farming and mining on beta.  Another "easy button", and yes it is easy.  It's expensive and takes time, but once that time and expense has been done, it's a simple and and cheap to maintain.

It's a good indication, when people resort to ad hominem attacks and insults to argue their points.  An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument..  It's a pretty good indication that those resorting to it have little or no valid points to add to the arguement.

PS- keep posting in yellow Dan, it suits you, you are defineately "yellow", so concerned to be able to hide behind your maze of walls and not actually have to work to defend your territory.

Can we just say who this is...its Kent who is doing this, we all know it, just say the F'ing names.

62nd/War Claims to what "good" fights but in reality all they want is to be super anti good pvp.  This includes any Blob they can possibly use, Zero fun and exiting PVP will come of these walls.  ZERO.

Lets cut through all the BS and talk straight at least.

Dan, stop being blinkered and just using you're too lazy arguments, extropolate where walls will go in their current incarnation and maybe you can see the problem.

I have made any accusations of cowardice or whatever at your spamming of the island, I've simply pointed out what will happen if the mechanic isn't changed

Hm did you two have a falling out?

What happened here?

I'm confused.

+1 to unrestricted Use of walls...I think the restriction of 1000 meters off teles and stations should be REMOVED.

So its fully player driven, and unique.

This really isn't a big issue as it is now.  Don't waste time on this DEV's table this for a year down the road.

I can't think of any combat situation that can't benefit from more players, if your goal is to win. Not even open field PVP. It could actually require 5 or 6 bots to kill a single tanked enemy, so deploying with less than a blob would mean admiting defeat before even undocking.

Which is exactly why you should not be advertising where and when the fight is going to be.

I can agree...I would love to see all the power end up in the players hands someday.  Choosing when to attack, and so on and so forth...REALLY hard to devise a system around that tho..,although I can say Eve did a OK job at it. I mean that OK in the worst possible way, far from great, but workable.  I would love it if the DEV's could make up a even better system that works.

i wonder which game mechanic does NOT advocate blobbing in your eyes.

no matter what it is - its always "advocating blobbing". i think even interference, which has a negative effect on bigger groups of robots was "advocating blobbing" in some argumentations.

could you stop complaining about groups that blob up or fight them with another blob, but deal with it and find tactics and strategies to beat them... without a blob?

Um, bro...Really...you gotta stop taking everything I say in such a negative way...I do like to blob too...Ill blob with anyone.  roll

Remember kids, being passive aggressive is the best way to spice up any topic.  yikes

I haven't been around long at all, you know I just started playing as I'm writing this now, so I have no idea what your hitting at, could you please explain in extreme detail, with bullet points, to what, and whom you are referring.  As to what was pulled out, when and what, as well as what time exactly, and why in a certain 2-3 day period, and not a 1-4 day period.

Thanks

Are we talking about the best PVP'er on the sever?

We all know who that is, Its me Mario....err um...that's not right...who is it again?

At OP:

As I see it now Intrusions are of little importance atm.  I really REALLY hate to say it, but I do like EVE's "intrusion" system better, yes I really hate to say that.  It at least gives ALL the power to the players, not this random BS that were all dealing with currently.

At Kadenines: Any, yes ANY mechanic the DEV's introduce will just advocate blobbing, its the way of the world, strength in numbers.  There is nothing wrong with that, other then being boring, well sometimes boring.

Adding in PBS will NOT help any of these complications, it will simply just amplify them, to a much greater degree.

I would heavily suggest that the Dev's continue with THERE vision of the game, and keep the consulting of other players to a "this is just advise level" as, even if they come to the Dev's with a plan, its going to have a heavy Bias toward benefiting them as a whole, while leaving others out.

For me the game needs to decide what kind of experience the NPC fights wants to offer.

ATM for me it feels like "Hack&Slay" type loot/reward forced upon "boss like" npcs.

my Requests for a more evolved AI are based on the idea to go towards the "Boss fight", where you get a tough fight vs. any NPCs, but also get a reward that is worth losing some times against them (its closer to pvp)
This also comes in line with a total reduction of static NPC numbers all over the islands, and replace them with more roaming ones.

Mission NPCs should only spawn for the mission... not beeing around there all the time.

In doing so this will make research for the newer players that much harder to obtain...I'm talking extremely hard to obtain.

Now if said rewards were adjusted for more favorable kernel drop rates, I could see potential here.

Zombiepilot

Probably one of the most anticipated features since launch is the autopilot. Good news everyone, the time has come. You will be able to add waypoints in a certain order to create routes. When the autopilot is engaged, it will follow the route. Although plants that may grow in the path will block the robots, it’s worth noting that there are already many paths connecting the main landmarks that are cleared of these annoying vegetables. Have fun finding them and plot away!

Why is it called Zombiepilot?* Because it is really dumb and will literally do nothing more than try to lurch its way towards the next waypoint. Braaaiiinns!

* It's not, actually.
