Topic: Common things or universal slots.

I propose to change some things to the common type that can be used in slots of different types.
For example: allow to set up firearms in all kinds of chassis slots  (turret, missile,misc,industrial)

Actually this is a simple idea which might be interesting for people and developers. Personal interests is not here. Just Tyrannos with six machine guns seems funny to me and useful for noobs.

i could see this working ... so long as the bots or mechs DMG bonus gets applied to the weapons system for that race.

this sounds good. but you will have to use (hungarian) math to find out if it realy will not be too overpowering in some cases.

but in general i think this is a good idea. maybe even some more modules that could use this.

Yeah unlimited accumulator to fire autocannons... cause shooting them with limited accumulator would cause you to run out...

This would be a buff to all bots (Kain & Artemis included) and give us more fitting options

As i understand you want creating of new kind weapons for pelistal bots. But i want change some things to be able equip it in all slots and all bots. It would be interesting to shoot NPCs with termises smile

This is an idea that will just further unbalance combat in the game. there are already several bots as stated that you can load up with firearms so use one of them. no need to change basically every bot in game so they can use firearms. its not needed.

As i understand this your imho and this feature not need personally for you. I think so because you cant explain where exactly disbalance. Unlike you, i'll try to explain. (one more time)

The main advantages of firearms:
1) Firearms - most available newbie weapons. It's possible to learn t4 with drone kernels fast and easy. Also it's cheap.
2) They enough good without high skills. No need accumulator extensions, low CPU and reactor usage.
The main disadvantages:
1) LOS.
2) Low optimal range
3) High weight
4) Really low DPS in comparison with profile weapons (on high skills) because there is no any robotic bonuse.

My main point in that: We have 4 races - Nuimqol, Pelistal, Thelodica and Industrials. Also we have 4 types of weapons: Magnetic, lasers, missile launchers and firearms.
Each battle bot have his proper (profile) weapon type. (Actually it's very strange that profile weapons are self sufficient and it's possible to equip this in any appropriate slot on any bot... but nwm yet.)
...And we have common weapon type for turret robots. Only for turret slot... There is obviously disbalance.

Yes, some ppl talks about disbalance, but they can't explain where exactly. (maybe because there is no disbalance?). Shielded Tyrannos with independed of accumulator firearms? - But is it depends with missile launchers? etc.... etc... etc...

Sooo… Hunter your asking for:

A)    Allow green bots to use turrets ?
In which case this will only benefit players who already speced into firearms / lasers / Magnetic weapons. If this is to benefit new players they will likely cross train firearms with lasers or magnetic weapons and pilot either yellow or blue, because of the bonuses they get to their racial weapons. At best this will just encourage new player to waste EP on training firearms and green mech skills .. the two don’t mix well.

B)    Asking for a weapon of a common type
This I can get behind but it should not be firearms. It should be a new weapon type, like aoe bomb launchers that use the missile skill tree. Or some other random type of weapon as long as its new and doesn’t use current turret skill set for bonuses.

C)    A total revamp on how the weapon systems in the game are designed.
In which case it will never happen. Why? Because there is no real need.

•    The benefits you mention are so small its not worth rewriting the code to accomplish.
•    And yes honestly this reeks of some fit that you or someone has dreamed up and what to try out.   
This will only benefit players who have EP sitting around collecting dust as new players are still working on basic fitting and non cross training skill sets. As it stands right now there are some but not many people who use firearms as their primary weapon of choice because of the drawbacks that YOU mentioned.
