Topic: Developers waste time.

Sorry for bad english.

I remember time when speed was principal advantage. And all used lew.
Have then changed balance and advantage have received Kains.
Have then appeared cheaters and have shown to all server that the strongest Grophos.
Have then changed balance of masking and there was a new force - assault.

Many changes were because of shouts at a forum.

But it seems to me that many motions were excessive.

I consider that:
1) It is necessary to be defined with the main concept of game.
2) It is necessary to define roles of classes.
3) to Adjust balance once and further to change it is very thin and rare.

... And I consider, what even now it is not required to change something in game balance. The balance is. Assault have taken the place of PvP. Now there is a choice: force, the armor, speed or masking (Electronics only is insufficiently developed).

Anyway and any situation that will prevail what certain type of robots. Assault aren't guilty in that that now popularly murder of miners on beta islands and that they for this purpose are ideally suited.

Gropho it is not guilty that it far shoots. It should shoot far because it costs much and demands high level of skills (extensions).

Actually the concept is defined for a long time also by all is known. It is better to be engaged in adding of the new.

Frequent change of balance conducts to instability. Instability reduces popularity of game.
Now at all forums speak: Perpetuum - unstable and crude game which balance is influenced by crowd of trolls.

Everyone should understand that any balancing generates only new a disbalance.

Assaults are getting rebalanced and a new stealth class is being introduced. Be patient.

To me assault robots aren't important. I (as well as many) was tired of frequent changes of global balance.

Everyone should understand that any balancing generates only new a disbalance.

Thats nice but the player base need to be a bit more than CHAOS.  For that matter, the player base needs a bunch of new members.  These new members aren't going to hop right into Mechs.  Assaults need to be viable on some level.  TBH, assaults now are not hard to counter unless you hang onto FOTM fits.

Anti-Assaults:
Detectors, stabilisers, Ewar.

Any of those will work our rather well. Remember once you've LOCKED something it can't drop from your view range until it's outside your locking range so long lock rangers DOES help against smaller stealth targets. Seeing them coming is a very key factor too. Most assault roams have other beacon like robots with them which helps work out at least roughly where the main force is.

Assaults are not over powered by mechs are expensive in comparison to them. Is assaults do get changed then everything will be okay but assaults will be useless and new players won't be welcome into many corporations. This game reward the elites but also punishes the new players. When mining a field you do not want high cycle times and bad yields. When producing you only want to use the best of the best. When farming the more people the more heads you have to pay. New players are useless for at least 1 or 2 weeks.

Assaults right now help to level the field. If stabilisers were a little lighter to fit I can see mechs become nice and used again. One T1 mech can only out tank an entire gang of assaults in T4 and even kill a few of them. So get 5 mechs vs 10 assaults and the 5 mechs can win if they don't fit lolsetups.

Tanked mechs are the way to go but you do need tackle.

Conversation not about assault and mechs. Developers have decided to change balance - let will change, but will make it so then it would be not necessary to change.

By the way changes go on a circle. For example lock-range of heavy mechs.

Frequent changes ARE necessary and they WILL be until every bot will have his niche. It's simply impossible to implement something 100% useful from first try. So DEV's implementing something, testing it, changing and testing again.

People opinions and demands are playing very important role too. If there will be a lots of things that mot of people doesn't like, then people will simply leave the game.

Lol line fyi we playing released game, not beta test. Devs should test changes properly. Frequent changes is consequence of unstable game direction. Hunter made important point what describes why frequent balance changes are bad.

Ok Alexadar tell me then how the DEVs will test things WITHOUT implementing them? I mean, from the programmes point of view it can work fine and great but people may not like it.

And another thing - if they will implement alots of things each 6 months only, people will start leaving the game. The game is still young and lack of content so changes are necessary to keep players interest.

Developers do not waste time.

Also, we just ordered a new server that will be available for testing purposes. This will serve as a playground for new fits, ideas, tactics and also drastically decrease the number of hotfixes after each patch. Unfortunately it will take about 3 weeks to arrive.

But why? why not just revert last changes with assaults to make people calm down for a while? Kinda last "change" before the new server.
