Topic: Sensor Connection or Sensor amplifier bug?

Standard sensor amplifier info shows for Locking time 23% (item is fitted on Arbalest).

My extension for Sensor Connection is a Level 2.

Info for this extension says: Each level of this extension enhances the target locking time modifier of sensor amplifiers and remote sensor amplifiers by an additional 2%.

For this amplifier, base value of Locking time is 20%. From this I conclude that the bonus should be 24%, not 23%.

After undocking, I put amplifier on, and then looked at the info.
Locking time is reduced from 10 sec to 7.69 sec (~23%).

Is the error in the extension or in a module?
I have not checked for other modules.

hmm, i think the forum search rules, if you type in the right stuff...

you say 10s is your lockingtime without? that means you got accelerated target locking on lvl5, ok

reading all those forum topics about math -

- Extension rule 1:
if someone is reduced by extension bonus, take (base value) / (1+extensionbonus*extensionlvl)

- Extension rule 2:
If the base value is a % number, then take it as such: (1+base value)

Base Value in this case is -20% -> (1-0.2)

result: 10s * (0.8/1.04) = 7,6923s

So what you are saying is clearly: Extension description is WRONG and misleading.
Its not 2% off. Its a math forumula I dont understand.
So either change the math, or change the description, as it stands now its just wrong.

Also please be aware that the game only uses 2 Amps/Remote Amps in its calculations, fitting/using 3 or more is pointless

We call it Hungarian Math.

5% increase/decrease usually means a real change of either 3-4% per level.

Percentages are also in decimal form with an added 1.
Addition is usually multiplied rather than added.
Multiple modules are added by powers. 4 tunings = 1 tuning to the power of 4 (As long as they're the same)
