If missions are worth having it could make Beta mission running a real thing which would reinvigorate PvP.

Perhaps as part of a beta mission you could sacrifice some reward to insure your bot and fit?

beta missions are not worth much if they need you to dock lock-able outposts or start at a predictable terminal, but require you to run around in a pve-specialised expensive mech that has zero survivability vs. demob fit shield-castels.

Also, if those missions have low risk vs. high-reward for those beeing able to shut-off the island completely, but high risk vs. low reward for those not able to that -> no gain.

Group missions wouldn't be so bad. If the reward was decent and the risk was cut it could happen. I saw enough arganos nice upon a time, you just need yo make it desirable.

Would we be able to see field storage terminals remotely?

RIP PERPETUUM

Re: New devblog: Random assignments - The final details

Fix for NPC explosion damage:

Restrict beacon placement from 3 to 1.

Decrease Explosion damage.

Fixed.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Good idea, ultimately Alpha needs to nerfed the hell down if there is no risk at least temporarily, until it's fixed. There is no rule for new players not allowed on beta.

Alpha seems like training grounds with too much rewards.

Or just dont deliberately try to break a perfectly good system and *** it up for everyone else.

Yes, they will show up in remote storages if you have something there.

Quoted for truth.

Alpha is a botting paradise being abused daily.

Nerf the hell out of it, Alpha should never ever have anything close to Beta income levels, and right now Beta is worthless in comparison (no risk for PVP, no explosion damage costing you loot, perfectly AFK-able with a simple software and a sequer full of ammo).

Alongside reverting your beta 'balancing'.

Nerf alpha mining spots. Bring back big red static epi spawns on beta and big red dynamic other mats.

Rewards on alpha should be a tenth of Beta.

Will these mission spots be able to be constructed on Gamma? Hint: they should be big_smile

want to make a loss in pvp is more expensive? smile

make pvp once a month!!! <-----So goes your request

Re: New devblog: Random assignments - The final details

Alpha rewards should be no more than 5M an hour per heavy character
Beta rewards should be 50m an hour
Gamma rewards should be 30m an hour

Arranging this with missions shouldn't be hard. Mining is a bit more problematic - can the amount of material per cycle be changed by island type? i.e. can mining on beta give you ten times the amount of material?

Proverbs 23:20-21 warns us, “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

Botting is legal now so who cares.

I think the mining aspect is fine, since there's Beta and Gamma specific minerals. If someone want's to suck Liquizit instead of Epriton, it's his own choice.

I do see that point of view, i just think if you want people doing 100% of their industry on beta you need to do it for all, otherwise folks will just mine everything on Alpha but epriton and haul it out to build.

1. Remove all static NPC spawns from Alpha.
2. Remove all liquid ores from Alpha.
3. ???
4. Profit!

Remove the opportunities for botting, they're bad game design. Everyone's quick to point fingers at corp-stockpiles being the reason for a dead economy, few have the capacity to understand what a NIC faucet botting is on Alpha.

Alternatively if you can't be arsed to develop the game and fix the faults, just make botting legal in the EULA then everyone can stop pretending it's a very riveting experience to shoot static spawns for 20 hours. lol

Just make liquid ores not liquid, no need to remove them.

Alpha fields should be way smaller, like 1/4th of what they are now. It shouldn't be possible to pull off any decently sized mining operations there. Of course the outpost auras could be boosted as well.

Re: New devblog: Random assignments - The final details

we have been at these discussion before.
fact is not everbody wants to go to beta/gamma.
the game neaads a healthy economy of carebears. look at eve. most of the player population sits in high sec. doing their things.
if you nerv alpha too much down no one will stay in the game that dont wants to go to beta/gamma.
these ppl will not be forced to play the way you want them to play. they will just look for another game.
alpha players need enough to do on their own.

i think alpha ore fields are small enough as they are. and mining solids is a pain in the azz...
make them smaller in size ok.. make the tiles have more ore for that so one field has the same yield. so you dont have to switch tiles all half miniute even if you spread your miners around...

to make beta and gamma more atractive there have to be other things like the standart ores that are highly sought after. for now we have epri and colixum. sadly we dont have the high demand in economy yet that would make it rewarding o go for that. if we get a economy that wants colixum badly then this will be a different thing. besides gamma islands can provide much more content in the future. if the devs find the time to develop it...

Re: New devblog: Random assignments - The final details

If you do this, nobody will buy alpha epriton. beta residents will sell? robots? so who needs them to be)
F this idea
p.s. I'll be watching on the sidelines, as players leave perp

Re: New devblog: Random assignments - The final details

historically the only way to get people to Beta to live that was successful was to make Beta very lucrative and very easy to live in. That was achieved by close static spawns of all materials to stations, no lockout mechanism and decent station bonus'. As this was soured Alpha became more powerful. Its time to redress the balance.

Proverbs 23:20-21 warns us, “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

Re: New devblog: Random assignments - The final details

I predict mission abuse on alpha as soon as it's live, and players whining there is not enough incentive to do them in Beta, and I would agree with them. Why? Because as long as it's 100% safe on alpha it's much easier to work around it, than suffer the dangers of beta.

Easy NIC/Hour even if it far lower than pvp islands, is better if you can do it 24/7.

Totally agree. Thats why Beta rewards should be 10 X alpha.
